Went here with my mom for lunch. Asked our waiter about the chips and guacamole. He said they share fryers and it would not be safe. We ordered drinks, and instead of offering other menu options brought a check and never checked in with us again. Doesn’t seem to have many options for GF food.

My experience here was much different than many of the reviews here. We were one of the first tables to be sat in the morning. My waitress was knowledgable and discouraged me from ordering pretty much anything based on the small size of their kitchen and high risk of cross contamination. I ended up with an acai bowl with no granola that was made in its own blender. I felt okay afterwards but would not go back.

Tried eating breakfast here. The waitress and manager discouraged us from ordering anything. Said they felt uncomfortable with the high probability of cross contamination.

Super yummy food! I ate the pumpkin compote special and they serve breakfast until 4pm! Wait staff is super quick. The place was packed and we were able to get our food quickly.
I’m sensitive and I did t have an issue with my food. Fair warning: spicy 🌶 food is a staple in NM so if you have a hard time dealing with spicy make sure to check with your server about which dishes you can eat.

We had a lovely breakfast here. Family owned upscale diner with delicious food and fantastic service. Our server was knowledgeable of gf options. He even let us know that there was only rice flour in the sauces. Such a great experience!

Good breakfast. Had the gluten free French toast as well as the burrito with a corn tortilla and gluten free pork sausage. Very knowledgeable and accommodating staff. FYI the French toast comes with Frosted Flakes which we took off because we weren’t sure if they were gluten free (malt extract). Overall it was a filling and convenient breakfast :)

I requested the wait staff ask the chef and they were very accommodating. Chips are fried in shared fryer so I avoided those. Had my Nima with me so I tested the pasole, red chili and green chili - all smiles!

Went here for breakfast and there's not many gf options other than the standard eggs or hash browns. I was excited about the blue corn pancake but the server very nicely/apologetically informed me it is not gf. Server was extremely kind and attentive though I have no idea if the chef actually took precautions (I don't get symptoms when contaminated). They had Impossible sausage, which was great (I'm vegetarian leaning). Restaurant is located in the heart of the Plaza, so great people watching and a lively/bustling ambiance. VERY friendly service.

No separate kitchen but servers understood gluten free. Good breakfast Offered corn tortillas substitution for bread.
I have eaten at the Plaza Cafe many times, and always feel very confident that the wait and kitchen staff are very well versed in Celiac-safe gluten free food. The Heuvos Rancheros is outstanding and the coconut cream pie is to die for. Just be a smart Celiac and make sure everything is up to snuff. Highly recommended!

When I talked to the hostess she said their kitchen was small with flour everywhere, a big risk for cross contamination, that I could maybe try a salad. I'm a very sensitive celiac, appreciated her advice, and went back to the hotel to eat.
No
After speaking with waitress, still brought out gluten containing sauce. Had to ask again. And then they checked with kitchen who said there was a little flour in the sauce. Eat at your own risk.

Items are clearly marked gluten free on the menu, green chile is gf, didn't ask about red. Huevos rancheros was delicious.

Had the posole here and had no problems. I have celiac. Diners also make me nervous but this place was legit.
Yes
Diners always make me a little nervous, but our waiter was able to answer my questions about what was safe and took my celiac seriously. I had the chile relleno omelette, and it was delicious. It did come with potatoes, but I steered clear of them, just to be on the safe side.

Great staff!! Good food. Quick and affordable.
Thought there were clearly GF labeled options and my waiter was helpful... I had the worse gluten reaction I have had in months! It was surprising to see symptoms after reading such good reviews. This place is NOT celiac friendly, intolerance people beware as well.

Menu items are clearly marked. Lots to choose from. I had the grilled fish tacos on corn tortillas, which was served with Spanish rice and pinto beans. Food was yummy. Staff was super helpful.
Excellent authentic New Mexican food with very hot chile. Menu designates gluten free selections.

Very good gluten free sandwiches and they were very careful about cross contamination
