It was a fail if I were celiac because they can't be trusted for my other allergies. Modest portions of good tasting food that is healthier than your usual restaurants, but the servers were ignorant of the menu details, and I asked two people was was in the "magic dust" on my Korean noodles, & after being told it was GF & tasted it with my fingertip, it had sesame seed, which I had asked about as I'm allergic. One server rushed to me & apologized & took the cup away. Good thing I don't become anaphylactic YET. They tried, but close doesn't work with allergies & gluten.

I was so impressed with the quality of the food my husband and I had. He ordered the Vegan Double and I the O.G. They made sure our burgers were gluten free amd served us the most delicious buns. The burgers so flavorful. I loved my husband's vegan burger so much that he exchanged his for mine and we actually went back two days later so I could have that burger again.😂 No reaction. I'd go there for every meal if I could.

Love True Food in Las Vegas (home), San Diego was also great! They have staples and seasonal items, so if you’re trying to decide ask your server and try seasonal things while you can! I love the Brussels sprouts with miso dressing, charred cauliflower, the harvest salad, the curry bowl and the Korean glass noodles. But everything seems to be well seasoned and tastes great!

Everything it’s so tasty, I’ve been there a lot of times and never get sick. The pita bread and the OG burger are pretty good. So many options, you can ask to change the bread and the pizza crust to be gluten free and they have gf desserts too, highly recommended!

The menu is clearly marked as to being gluten free and there is a wide choice of food. I’ve been here twice and haven’t been disappointed in the food. My only complaint is that it took a while for the wait staff to acknowledge me after being seated or take my order, maybe because I was dining alone. That said, the staff is very polite and friendly.

The waiter clarified if GF was a preference or an allergy. My dish was brought out separately from the others at our table and then reassured it was prepared separately to avoid cross contamination.

Got a Greek salad, don’t think it was worth the price. But the dessert (a lime tart) was insanely good, loved every bite and worth the price to me. :)

I was at a conference around the corner from this restaurant and I ended up going there twice a day for three days! They were super accommodating and friendly, and were able to make almost anything on the menu gluten and dairy free. Best GF pita bread I’ve ever had. And the desserts are gluten and dairy free!

I feel safe eating here. Menu items are clearly marked. When I told the server I had celiac, even though I was ordering GF marked items, she said she would personally tell the kitchen so they’d take extra caution to avoid cross contact.

Delicious food -I had the chicken Panini on the gluten-free Pita bread. The menu is clearly marked gluten-free and this item wasn't but they were easily able to modify it so I could eat it. I always wait till the next day to review and I didn't get sick. The staff seemed very knowledgeable and very friendly about working with my allergies. The cost was a little steep but probably normal for the area. Parking atrocious since a part of the mall.

I LOVE the restaurant my son has Celiac Disease and loves to eat there, he asked for GF Pita Bread and had symptoms so I tested in NIMA and came back “Gluten Found” we wrote to the manager and she was very concern and very nice and told us to call her before attending and that she will supervise our order. There is a disclosure in the menu about CC but they make a big effort to avoid it. Next time we went and asked for Salmon and Brocoli and no problem.

The gluten free pita is SO GOOD. It is huge, which is a nice change of pace for gluten free food. The gluten free cookies are also delicious!

Items are clearly marked on the menu, most of which is either gluten free or can be made gluten free. When you let them know about food allergies they carefully use separate prep area and change gloves. I’ve eaten here over a dozen times. Too many good items to list. One of my favorite places to eat.

I’m definitely not telling my husband how much I spent on dinner! It was very expensive, but it hit the spot! I had a spaghetti squash and chicken meal. My son had a gluten-free pizza. He liked his, also. Neither of us got sick, so it was definitely worth the cost. I just wish that the portions had been bigger.

I am celiac and I spent my bday dinner here with non-celiac friends. Everyone in our party of 8 LOVED their food and drinks. The Adaptogenic tea was a big hit with me and two friends (ginger is great for digestion!). I had the lasagna based on other reviews here, and was not disappointed! I even got a gf piece of squash pie with the most amazing coconut whipped cream. Better than my memories of gluten-full pumpkin pie. Thanks for a fun and stressfree bday meal! I will def be back.

I loved that they have a paleo menu, we got the spaghetti squash with house-made vegan ricotta cheese and added a burger patty for protein. We split the drink “O.G.” which was sparkling water with ginger, lime, and honey. Mmm. Kind and friendly servers, seperate prep areas and the greeter is celiac too - which I thought was awesome.

One of my favorite spots in San Diego! The food is delicious and there are many GF options. The grass fed burger on a GF bun & lasagna are two of my favorites.
I'm celiac, so my choices are limited in a lot of places. This was the first time I've ever tried their food. I got the lasagna Bolognese and tasted the spaghetti casserole. I recommend both of those to anyone. Their food is amazing!
Fish tacos and squash pie. Both GF/DF and tree nut free.

Amazing Gf/Df and vegan options. A little pricey but every once in awhile its worth it. Had the most amazing strawberry rhubarb crisp that was gf with a scoop of the most delicious vanilla ice cream from Villa dolce (coconut milk). I was told they have a separate area to toast gf bread etc. I never know if I’ve experienced cross contamination since I’m not celiac but this place seems legit. Our waitress even told me she has RA and strictly avoids a number of foods including all gluten.
I've eaten here twice & had reactions both times. I gave it another shot due to such rave reviews & now I'm sitting here in pain and wishing I never had! If you are celiac/ sensitive to cross contamination I would avoid it. There are so many great places to eat in San Diego that are safe!

Must try place!! Great options and lots of GF menu items plus willing to modify anything.
Many vegan and gf choices including desserts! Would go again if I were going to be in San Diego longer.

Love this place! I used to go to the one in Atlanta frequently and now I live in San Diego and was so glad to see a True Food here. They have items marked gf on their menu and the staff is very knowledgeable about allergies and cross contamination. My favorites are the hummus with gf pita bread, panang curry, inside out quinoa burger, street tacos, and the chia seed pudding for dessert!

Great food, but i did get sick once eating here, we couldnt figure out what did it. maybe it was the water they used to boil the lasagna?
AWESOME place to eat! Staff was so friendly and knowledgeable, food was fresh and healthy which is so rare eating out anymore. And no gluten issues afterward!
I love the clean, fresh food and they always have a good selection of tasty GF choices. Their kale-ade is my favorite of their drinks. I'm a highly sensitive Celiac who tends to get cross-contaminated sick at even typically "trusted" places. I've eaten here at least six times so far & haven't once gotten ill. I love it.

Traveling through and saw the good reviews. Tacos are amazing! They also have gf pita with the hummus! I'm sensitive and didn't get sick. Will be back if I'm ever in San Diego again
One of my favorite restaurants in SD...food is always fresh & delish!
Great place for fresh food & great atmosphere
Gluten free options safe for celiacs (but let the staff know about your celiac disease). The food could be tastier (specially the guacamole and the gluten free tortillas). Small portions for the price. The best was the excellent service and the comfortable atmosphere.
