Went here for brunch on NYE, and the food was quite bland, nothing came very hot, including the weak coffee, the bacon was cold, and the root vegetable hash wasn’t actually fully cooked, potatoes were still sort of hard and was just flavorless. Even the eggs tasted watered down. The service was very slow as well. Just a MEH experience.

I had high expectations after talking to the woman who checked us in at the hotel and reading reviews here. They had more limited options than I thought they would, and the waitress wasn’t able to answer many of my questions. After asking them to omit the wheat berries for celiac and after she confirmed the fryer was not dedicated, I noticed fried Brussels sprouts in my grain bowl. When I inquired she took it back and confirmed the sprouts were not gluten free. They remade my plate with separate pan fried sprouts without question, and offered a gluten free gelato to make up for it. But I still felt pretty uneasy eating my meal after the oversight. If you eat here I’d recommend diligence and asking about all ingredients to make sure they don’t overlook possible cross contact.

Word is the chef spent a year being vegetarian and a year being Gluten-free, in order to better understand the needs of these customers and how to create an excellent experience for these diners. It didn’t disappoint. The food was creative and excellent. I felt better than when I eat at home!

I had dinner at UNION and was so pleased with the service and the food. I’m also vegan and they were able to accommodate celiac/vegan restrictions. They were very knowledgeable about celiac and I didn’t feel at all sick after!
