We visited MB during a long weekend and saw the reviews on this app. I had GF Veal Parmigiana which I haven’t had in years. It was so delicious. The servers were knowledgeable and knew exactly what I could and could not eat. Apparently one of the owners has a Celiac family member. I highly recommend this place. Easily the best Italian food I have had in years.

Very knowledgeable about gluten issues. The owner Fran and the waiter Chris were very helpful. The GF pasta was cooked in separate water. They used rice flour and GF bread crumbs. My chicken parmesan was delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Hands down the best Italian restaurant in the area. Very helpful with gluten free options, and their menu shows many dishes than be prepared gluten free. Staff is terrific and owner mingles with the guests. Have never had a problem eating here.

There was a line at the door waiting for them to open. The gentleman in front of me raved about this place:)
The server gave me lots of confidence in ordering that they know gluten free.
It ordered the appetizer with polenta and red pepper sauce and the chicken Parmesan. It was great!
My husband had the risotto with 4 different fish and loooooved it! The chicken Parmesan tasted wonderful!! (The side dish of penne and pasta was underwhelming … but I didn’t care because the appetizer, soup , salad my dish and my husband’s dish was sooooo good)
But I HAVE to give 1 star because when I get sick at any restaurant, it doesn’t matter how good it tastes when it messed up my gut … on vacation…..
Unfortunately within 30 minutes my gut was really not happy …. Sooooo I don’t know what happened … but within 1 hour I know that I know I got gluten at this restaurant.
NOT WORTH THE RISK FOR CELIACS

Absolutely wonderful! By far the best meal and experience the entire stay! The restaurant is small but elegant. It is very loud so prepare for that. The man who takes your name to be called was nice & let us have a menu to look over in advance and explained anything with an asterisk can be made gluten free. The only gf pasta is penne. Michael who has worked there 38 years plays the accordion and walks around to different tables. He’s super funny! Very nice and personable. Our waitress was Cornelia who was super nice and knowledgeable about gluten free options. We were served 4 courses, 1st the bread unfortunately is not gluten free so only my husband got to eat the brochettes on bread. 2nd the gf soup is made to order and they served me vegetable broth with a variety of vegetables in it and it was yummy. 3rd was the salad with Italian dressing, 4th was the main course I ordered gf chicken Parmesan with broccoli bc I didn’t want pasta. The chicken Parmesan was a giant portion and tasted fantastic!! Broccoli was just ok it needs flavor was very bland. What a great atmosphere and food! My husband who eats gluten ordered shrimp linguine and enjoyed it also. He also said all of his courses were good. I did not get sick off the food!! Would definitely go back!!! We drank water with all the food. The water tasted fantastic and crisp also!!

We had a wonderful time! We ate… a lot! I was the only gluten free of the party (and vegetarian) and I ate well. Everyone else kept saying how the bread and pasta were amazing, so gluten and gluten-free people were happy! Michael the waiter was really nice and we had a great evening.

Staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. Got there right when they opened and spoke to the manager. She even checked on us toward the end of the meal. Got the chicken parmigiana with a side of gf penne. Got my own soup and salad. Sandy, our server, was amazing and very patient. She told us she put on fresh gloves to make the salad and made sure to serve me first before touching other peoples plates. Happy to come here every time we are in Myrtle. A word of advice- go when they aren’t busy, like when they first open. We do that with any restaurant to help minimize the chance of errors bc of busy kitchen staff, etc. We’ll be back! Also- manager told us they prepare all gf items in a separate pan bc there are no dedicated fryers.

Went in the evening, had a lovely dinner. I was given a special soup and salad. I got gluten free pasta with a white sauce and chicken stuffed with ham and cheese. Waitress seemed knowledgeable and was friendly, but to be honest, I had a stomachache the next day. Maybe related maybe not. I probably would go again.

I ate here in November 2021 and in March 2022. I had the same meal both times. Chicken parmigiana with the soup and salad. There is nothing in the salad to make one sick- the dressing is basically oil, vinegar and spices similar in taste to a very light Italian. The soup is a vegetable soup in a broth. And the chicken parm is carefully prepared. It was excellent both times.

Many GF choices, but my food must have been contaminated. As soon as I had the salad, which automatically comes with the house dressing, I started to feel sick, even though the waiter assured me the dressing was gluten free. I then had the Alfredo pasta with chicken, and I felt even worse. I was in the bathroom all night. The waiter was also very stuffy and didn’t want to take the time to listen to my concerns about how serious my gluten allergy was.

I often avoid Italian restaurants since there tends to be a high risk of CC, but tried this place because it had so many great reviews on this app. The food was very good and the items that can be made GF are noted with an asterisk on the menu. However, I Nima tested my leftover Risotto Pescatora and got a “gluten found” result. The third line on the capsule was faint so it was likely cross-contaminated.

Everything marked with a asterisk could be made gluten free. They had salad, gluten free soups and many gf options for the main course. The food was so good. The chef even came by to talk to us and said they do miracles in the kitchen. I appreciate their willingness to modify so many things to be gluten free. Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive to gf needs as well.

We had the chicken Parmesan and the chicken stuffed with ham and cheese. Both were delicious but the chicken Parmesan was the best! No GF bread but they prepared a special GF soup for us! The server was very knowledgeable about GF options and everything she served she made sure to identify as GF.

Great server who was knowledgeable about gluten. She was very confident their kitchen could prepare all of the Asterixk-marked choices on the menu gluten-free. I had a wonderful chicken Parmesan with marinara sauce I heartily recommend. We are here for a week, and will go back again.

So many gluten free items! I had the chicken parmigiana with gluten free spaghetti. So amazing. They also offer gluten free soup to start. Villa Romana also offers at least 4 gluten free appetizers. I wanted to try them all! This place is exceptional. Cannot wait to be back in Myrtle Beach, just to eat here again! Love this place!

Amazing restaurant! Gluten free soup as appetizer was a pleasant surprise. Pasta was delicious! Service was amazing! Kid friendly! Highly recommend. Will definitely return next time we’re in the area!
This is an amazing restaurant!! There are many options on their menu for gluten free these four chicken dishes looked amazing!! I selected the Chicken Fiorentina All Arancia. 💗💗💗 it was heaven in my mouth! Delicious!!

Absolutely excellent!! Freshly made with many gf options!
Favorite place to eat on vacation! First of all the food is amazing and lots of GF choices. (Even soup) I’m very sensitive to gluten- never been sick. Highly recommend going here!!

My daughter was so excited to be able to eat pasta Alfredo. The wait staff was educated and provided her a safe and delicious meal. She is super sensitive and had no ill effects.

We've been coming here for years and the food and the service are FABULOUS! I'm Italian and a Celiac, so I'm pretty particular. Villa Romana has the most amazing food and they will keep you safe. I had the Rack of Lamb days ago, and I'm still thinking about it. It was as great as Mama's and it was AMAZING! If you live here or are visiting DO NOT miss out.
Yes
Amazing food. Had gluten free chicken parm with a side of gf spaghetti and sauce. Sooo good. A must go :)
The staff have always been very knowledgeable about gluten. They have one of the most extensive lists of gluten free options I've ever seen and it's included in the main menu, you don't have to ask for a special menu. On my most recent visit, I had the chicken parm and it was one of the best gluten free meals I've had.
Yes
They are always very accommodating of my gluten and dairy needs.
Our waitress, Kaitlyn, was very knowledgeable. The food was absolutely delicious. Will definitely return!!
Yes
unfortunately not a great experience, every step of the way I asked for gluten free so when the server brought the soups to the table and mine looked like everyone else's, I asked again to which she said, "You needed gluten free?" So I suppose it shouldn't be surprising that I got sick. Spent the next 2 days feeling like crap.
Amazing food. Authentic Italian with many gluten free options. Definitely saving this restaurant in our yearly must do's when we come to myrtle! Make reservations at least 1 day before hand!!! Food is worth the wait, personally didn't like the accordion, but the food was worth the noise.
Amazing 4 course gf meal! Soup, salad, numerous entrees and a side of gf pasta!
This is a wonderful Italian restaurant. Very gf aware. Homemade soups, pasta, more!
