I am a very sensitive celiac I eat at the diner typically 2-3 a week for about 6 years I have never had a bad experience or reaction I always hear other patrons around me order gf 2 of the owners have celiac the chicken franchise and cheesecake are my favorites I very highly recommend them

Last review must have been a one-off, which sucks because I have gone here over a dozen times and had no reaction.

The chicken parm is out of this world. The french fries are amazing. Make sure you let them know you are celiac and they should take good care of you.

I was really looking forward to making this my new go-to diner since I’ve heard they have a spectacular GF menu. I also heard the kitchen is careful, has separate fryers and preparation area since a relative of one of the owners is medically GF. I ordered the gluten free pumpkin pancakes and a friend ordered the GF pumpkin waffles. The waffles and pancakes were NOT gluten free despite what the waiter said. Either the chef was lazy and didn’t clean- creating a lot of cross contamination, or they gave us the wrong meal despite the clear directions I gave. AND again, they reassured us that everything would be GF with no problem. The diner was also not busy, so there was not an excuse for a slip or mix up in the kitchen. By the time I got home, I had the full blown celiac reaction and I am not looking forward to the long recovery ahead. In addition, with the leftovers we brought home, I tested it on my NIMA gluten sensor. I just thought to make sure things were actually GF like the diner stated. The NIMA sensor flagged both the pancakes and waffles as having gluten. I wish I had remembered to have brought the sensor with me, but totally forgot since I’ve heard all of these wonderful reviews and how safe it is. I’m really disappointed with this restaurant. I would just advise anyone who goes there and is super sensitive to gluten/celiac to proceed with EXTREME caution!

Awesome to have the classic New Jersey diner experience as a celiac! Largest gluten free selection I have ever seen at a non-specialist store. After the meal I asked if they had any gluten free desserts and they gave me a gluten free brownie on the house!

Amazing! Huge Gluten Free Menu, with dedicated fryer and the fries were out of this world good. My celiac daughter got gf chicken fingers and fries and had plenty to bring home. We got the GF Gyro wrap, which was super yummy. Tons of deserts GF too! Thank you so much to the Wayne Hills Diner for allowing our little lady to have a true NJ Diner experience! We’ll be coming back.

They have a huge GF menu and I got the buffalo chicken wrap with steak fries. I was nervous about the fries but the waitress explained that it was put in a dedicated gf fryer!! I was very impressed with the food! It was a great experience and I had no reactions.

I was skeptical about having such a large menu and how safe I would be ordering a Reuben sandwich but was assured they have a dedicated space AND A DEDICATED FRYER!! Everything was delicious and I didn't get a smidge of reaction. And steak fries: perfect. Yum!! Did I mention the cheesecake bc cheesecake and they have other gf desserts. My new go to when I'm 'back home' in north jersey!!

i asked, and they did say they had a gluten-free menu *AND* a DEDICATED FRYER 👏👏👏. had fries, (of course), and a wrap. both were so good i ordered a second meal to-go for the next night, (and forgot to ask which wraps they use lol, they were really good). my dish wasn't marked in any way to indicate that it was gluten-free, (so be careful when ordering multiple dishe)2ñs didn't get sick, so it appears that they are careful about cross contamination, (I'm very sensitive to it). the diner got really busy before we left, leaving something to be desired for customer service. was great until they were overwhelmed with patrons.

One off the safest places we’ve been. Extensive gluten free menus. One of the owners has a family member who has celiac so they are very safe. We’ve been there at least 10 times and never have gotten sick.

Cross contamination often with their fries. I’ll spoke with them every time and it never changes. Some of their items are really good. Extremely overpriced which isn’t fair to do to people.

Great diner with a bar. GF menu is awesome !! So is their regular menu! Service is impeccable, courteous and caring!! Love it here . Never saw so many GF choices and I’ve been here with family recently 3 times and everything I’ve ordered was so so delicious!! We were going for a bachelorette party and the bride, who has celiacs, threw up a few hours later due to the food she ate. We suspect it was the pancakes. The waitress did not remember who had the gluten free meal when she was handing it back to us. It completely ruined our day. It’s important to note that the bride said she had a severe gluten free allergy. Not happy. When we called to speak to the manager, he was dismissive and rude. He said “this has never happened before so what do you want us to do about it”. Will not be going back again.

Have eaten here dozens of times since I started school at MSU and they never fail to be amazing. Food is delicious and every single server I have had has been incredibly knowledgeable about Celiac Disease and are willing to make anything on the menu gluten free if you ask. They have a dedicated space in their kitchen for the gluten free food to be made so there is no chance of cross contamination. I have never once had any reaction here and trust their food entirely. My whole family loves it here and raves about it all the time. Just a great place overall!

Great food (for a diner). I felt very safe and everyone was super nice. I had the beef and lamb gyro wrap with steak fries. All of it was super filling and delicious. Had no reaction.

I go all the time now with my friends and my family and everyone loves it!

I have been eating gluten free for 11 years now and never been to a place where I had as many options or felt as safe eating here! I had a crepe for the first time ever! It all tasted like normal food. Some items where a little pricey as expected with gluten free. It was clean, friendly, and felt like home.

My daughter has celiacs and saw the reviews and went a few times. Last time we were there I walked out without ordering and won't be going back anytime soon. We went for breakfast and got completely ignored by the waitress. She was to worried about getting drinks for a group of high schoolers as they trickled in. They have lots of options for gluten free and staff is knowledgeable if they pay attention to you. Customer service was horrible

I hate to give this place a low review since it is so close to my home, but I unfortunately have to do so. I ordered the GF Open Faced Roast Beef and had the lovely experience of finding a hair in the gravy. I also had a reaction a few days later so I'm not sure how safe this place actually is. The silverware is very flimsy and needs to be updated. Very friendly wait staff, but I can't go back based on the hair.
