If you are ever in the area during the holidays, this place is a must visit. I went there as I saw a gluten free menu, and was spellbound with the holiday decorations - it was so very festive! They have an entirely separate gluten free menu, a gluten free charcuterie option before dinner, and servers are all very knowledgeable. Pricey but delicious and worth every penny. Would highly recommend.

Gluten Intolerant

This food is very good, though the options for gluten free are limited. They offer a few steak options, potato formats, and asparagus as the vegetable. That's all. Everyone else received cheese and crackers. Our server seemed very distracted, and after several drive bys I had to flag him down and ask for gluten free cheese and (boxed) crackers. Also our waiter wasn't very willing to adjust the bleu cheese dressing on the lettuce wedge to make it gluten free. Everything was delicious, I just wasn't impressed with the limited range of gluten free meal options and the dessert options were even less (two, a berry parfait , and creme brulee). That said, they have a dedicated fryer and space, and the food was safe.

The decor is a little scary (dusty) and more than a little dated. It's an experience, though not a place I need to go back to.

Not only is the food amazing here but also, they have an entire kitchen dedicated to gluten allergies among other allergies. Being from Seattle, it is hard when I travel to get food that’s gluten-free. This place definitely impressed me and took my celiac Very seriously. I will be returning to this restaurant when I’m back in town.

First - angus barn is so lovely and a wonderful place to go. I went in December (first time after celiac diagnosis) and once I told the waiter I had celiac, within seconds he brought me a completely gluten free menu. There were tons of choices and I’m pretty sure they have a dedicated gluten-free kitchen space. I felt extremely safe eating here and the food was delicious.

A good gluten free option. Expensive for what it is, but a classic steakhouse worth the experience at least once.

Angus Barn was awesome. The staff was very knowledgeable about celiacs. When we sat down and mentioned our daughters allergy, our server immediately brought out an appetizer for her that included GF crackers. They have a completely separate gluten free kitchen which allows them to offer a FULL and safe menu. For the first time in a long time, eating out as a family felt normal - my daughter even got french fries! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This is one of those iconic restaurants (maybe THE iconic restaurant of Raleigh) and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Service was wonderful. There is a separate gluten-free menu and the food is even prepared in a separate gluten-free kitchen. I had cheese and GF crackers, olives, Caesar salad (no croutons), filet mignon, and creme brûlée for dessert.

Staff were attentive and understanding. I can’t have cross contamination from plants due to other issues. Them being able to get me a plain steak and I go home feeling a-ok instead of being taken out for the week was amazing. Will return, but more so because I’m afraid of trying new places.

Has a GF menu. Decent steak (I had the filet mignon), but way overpriced for what feels like a souped up Cracker Barrel. Very slow meal.

Staff was aware and knowledgeable. They served GF crackers and veggies to start. They said they have a GF kitchen. I ordered petit steak, baked potato, and broccoli. Steak was amazing! They offered GF cream Brûlée, but I decided to have berries because I was sooo full. I definitely recommend this restaurant for celiacs!

First time there tonight since celiac diagnosis. There were lots of choices for gf main dishes, (my steak was absolutely delicious) and the waitress knew exactly what was and was not safe. However, I was really disappointed not to be able to eat the cheese and crackers since other reviewers had said they had gf ones, and was told there is only one dessert safe for celiac (creme brulee). Waitress said the gf chocolate torte is not celiac safe. Also, the only gf salad dressings are warm poppyseed, balsamic and oil and vinegar.

Delicious steak but sneaky gluten. The steaks are sprinkled with steak seasoning. Read the ingredients... WHEAT! Didn't think I had to say "don't put wheat on my steak".

Took my sister here in December, 2016 to celebrate graduating with her master's. They were very accommodating after we arrived 20 minutes late for our reservation (construction traffic and a long wrong turn). The service was exceptional, lovely and inviting atmosphere, a long wine list, and they completely understood gluten free for celiacs. There is a separate gluten free menu and food is prepared in a designated kitchen space to avoid cross contamination risks. The kitchen manager even popped up to our table and was able to arrange several requests, including a gluten free creme brûlée for dessert. They served gluten free crackers with cheese as we were seated and my sister and I split a steak entree with an additional veggie side. The portions were large enough that we still had leftovers to take home. We would go back any day!

I've been to Angus Barn before and not had problems. Tonight I ordered the onion soup without the bread. They were clear that I was gf. They brought gf crackers. But as I was eating the soup I thought it tasted different than before. Then about 1/5th of the way into the bowl my spoon picked up a 1 1/2" square of bread. No wonder it was different than I was used to. They had placed dark rye bread in the bottom of the bowl! Double whammy, rye AND wheat! They replaced it but I sit here three hours later listening to the war going on in my belly. I'm not happy about their carelessness.

This place is exceptional in so many ways and their handling of food sensitivities is just as outstanding. Every employee knows everything about the menu, how it's prepared, and how the food is handled at every step, and can answer any question or accommodate any request. Plus most of the menu is gluten-free naturally. There are gluten foods like bread and crackers, but it's not hiding in foods it shouldn't be. We've found it super easy to navigate while enjoying all this amazing establishment has to offer.
