My kids and I split a chocolate cupcake top ($2) with mint frosting and a blondie with chocolate chips and chocolate frosting ($3.75). Its become so easy to make baked goods at home, that these aren't the best I've had, BUT it was so nice to grab a sweet treat with my kids. We went back and the blondie was still the best. We tried the brownie with mocha frosting which was good. The donut with vanilla glaze and Samoa donut tasted nothing like a donut. Nonetheless they were very tasty but more closely resembled lemon cake. Aug 2015 update Went back and had great service and food. Prices have definitely gone up. Their blueberry crumb cake is hands down the best thing on their menu! Moist and flavorful!
Located in downtown disney; cinnamon donut so moist & tasty! Choc chip cookie was just ok
Love the cookie sandwiches!
Yummy! I would have never even dreamed of paying over $3 for a cupcake, but these are a generous size and absolutely delicious- without being compared to other gluten free desserts, just on their own they make a statement! Hubby (who is not gluten free) & I had brownie cupcakes. What a dream!
all GF all vegan all delicious. this place is a must stop if you're near here. hard to park but worth the trouble.
Wow! I'm not gluten free, but my daughter has celiac so we went there for her and they looked so good that I ordered a cupcake for myself. It was a French toast cupcake and...OMG...it was good. I wish they had more locations throughout the country. My daughter always wants to visit when we're in Orlando or NYC, and now I know why.
The lemon cupcake was just wonderful, and the cookie crunch donuts were also very good, especially the chocolate one. The brownie cupcake was dry and hard and the red velvet wasn't "red velvety enough". It's also nearly impossible to find the shop, wedged between Lego land and the dinosaur place, and $3.75/cupcake or donut is a lot, but there's something to be said about a bakery that's "safe".
Love their food so much I bought their cookbooks!
Terrific old standby at Downtown Disney and in Manhattan, although a bit pricey.
Everything here is good.
The cupcakes were fantastic, as long as there was no frosting on them. Oh my, it is just too sweet for me with the icing. But, they were able to give me one without the frosting, and I really enjoyed it. Although, if I were to go back, it would be for the apple/cranberry toastie bread. It is the best!
Try the chocolate chip cookies!!!!!! :)
Gluten Free Cutie in Roswell, GA has much better cupcakes. Just saying . :) Other than that... They were ok
I needed my Fix of donuts and cake ever since having to go gluten free and this definitely filled it....
Best gluten free desserts I have ever had. Worth the drive from Tampa for these treats!
Loved the gluten free donuts! Amazing.
Love their cookie sandwiches, toastie bread and toasted coconut donuts! Great service with a very knowledgeable staff. We even had a GF cupcake tower at my wedding with multiple flavors from BabyCakes :)
Amazing GF donuts and cupcakes!
yummy! had the cookie topped donut.
Wonderful and a great variety!
If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. Gluten free doughnuts, cupcakes, cookies... all delicious. I ate here every single night on my vacation and I still dream about their gluten free doughnuts... mmm!!!!!
had the brownie cupcake with vanilla frosting. Amazing! what a nice treat! expensive but well worth it!
Downtown Disney inside Fresh-A-Peel (has gluten-free meals). Red Velvet cupcake was best : moist, good tasting, with a creamy thick icing which was delious. I was amazed it was non-dairy. My guess is an extremly mild tasting coconut oil. It has me dreaming of having a second one. I highly recommend Babycakes NYC.
Love love love this place! Delicious and gluten free! Even my husband loved them and he's a picky eater, especially when I try to get him to eat my gluten free foods. So yummy!!!!!
Expensive but worth it for a treat!
Some delicious and some average goodies. We have to eat GF, but vegan isn't a norm for us. Maybe that's why we felt some of the treats were lackluster. The highlights were the lemon eclair, thin mint cookie, and lemon pound cake. I'd skip the donuts and brownie cupcake.
WOWZA! I walked in and although not a large selection of items, still overwhelming of what to get. I finally asked the nice girl behind the counter what the best item was. She told me Samoa Donut! Sold!! As I have been unable to have the staple Girl Scout cookie for years. It was AMAZING!! So soft, full of flavor! Awesome, awesome!!
Super fresh, right when they opened in the am. Loved the cinnamon sugar, chocolate covered and sprinkles donuts. Lemon cake was delish and apple churro was yummy- more like a donut. Was reluctant to try bc did not enjoy treats from Orlando location, but very happy we did!
This bakery is a little slice of heaven for people with food allergies. It features baked goods without gluten or dairy. My favorite thing is the "ice cream" cookie sandwiches made with ginger cookies. The cream is actually their non-dairy frosting. Delightful! I also love the donuts. They taste more like cake, as they're not deep fried. Also, the cinnamon rolls are awesome. This isn't a health food store, so don't expect low calorie options. Just awesome baked goods!
Delicious and a favorite since they happen to be by my parents apt! The only complaint I'd give them is that their cupcakes and donuts always have a grainy taste to them which just tastes gf when I know from running the official gf of nyc they don't need to taste like that but I love their thin mints!
I was informed that not only are all of their baked goods gluten free but they are also soy free, which was great for me as I am allergic to both. I had a cinnamon-sugar donut that tasted like lemon but it was moist and didn't crumble like a lot of gf options I've tried. I also tried a plain biscuit and was shocked by how spicy it was. Yes, spicy! I don't know if they gave me the wrong flavor or what but it had chilli flakes in it and I thought I was having an allergic reaction to it at first because I wasn't expecting any heat. I guess if you like spicy biscuits, this could be great, but it wasn't for me. Also, it was a bit pricey. A donut and biscuit cost me $9. Also, they have freshly made gf bread on the weekends.
I live in LA, and we have a Babycakes near us (same company), so when my friend asked me to pick up a couple of gf cupcakes for her wedding in Brooklyn, I knew exactly where to go. I pre-ordered a half dozen. On the day I arrived, they pulled a lovely assortment with some inventive flavors (banana with maple frosting), and I also got some churros. (So GOOD!) The staff even recommended a nearby pizza place (although it wasn't as good as I had hoped). A few hours later, the cupcakes were a little dry, which is not outside of my experience with their counterpart in LA, but that also didn't stop one girl from having three. :) A great little bakery. I recommend everything except the cupcakes. The churros were even fantastic the next day.
Thin mint cookies were good but not enough to go out of my way for them. The chocolate eclair was good but not great. The staff were not welcoming until I engaged them to ask a question and place my order. Overall it was a disappointment given we went out of our way to stop in while visiting from out of town. I had high expectations and was slightly let down.
It was wonderful to go into a bakery and have EVERYTHING be GF. I was a bit overwhelmed! I should have tried a variety of things, but I tried the cupcakes mostly. They were good, but not fantastic, and unfortunately did not hold up AT ALL to the 2-3 hour walk home. The frosting was not my favorite, but everyone has different tastes... I would still go back if I am in NYC to try a doughnut :)
I'm unable to eat gluten, dairy AND sugar cane, so I had given up on ever eating baked goods that I did not make myself. my sister told me not so and in fact I had a decent number of options and the three types of cupcakes I tried were very tasty. a bit muffin like but satisfied my sweet tooth. need to find out how they manage to make their delicious frosting!
Ummm, not sure why it is so difficult to get gluten-free that tastes normal, but eclairs should not taste like stale muffin tops. Donuts should not taste like coffee cake, and cupcakes should not taste like muffins.
They have majorly improved since first opening. I have been gf 26 years and have never found a gf doughnut I liked until now! Their cookie sandwiches are delicious as well. I can't believe they are vegan as well. So moist and they don't have that funky aftertaste many vegan products have.
Love the gf chocolate and vanilla cupcakes! And the gf chocolate chip cookies and brownies are delicious. This place is amazing.
Excellent gluten free bakery. Stopped in here for the first time last week to pick up some gluten free treats for my gluten free girlfriend. Everything was delicious, and worth the price. The chocolate chip cookies were better than most non-gf versions I've tried, the brownies were very rich and very good, and the cupcakes were flat out awesome. Best of all, it made the girlfriend happy.
Everything is gluten free and delicious, from cupcakes to waffles.
Had a DELICIOUS pumpkin cupcake with vanilla frosting yesterday. I've been waiting for this location to open for a while and it did not disappoint. A bit pricey, but I'm willing to pay more for quality. Also, you can purchase yesterday's goods at a discount. Now when my husband gets a treat on Larchmont, I can too! Yay!
