Staff was extremely friendly and tried to help me avoid gluten. BUT:
Gluten free "menu" was almost useless, confusing and not enough details (EX: brand of Worcester sauce) to tell me what was safe. No one there knew what safe, so I tried plain hamburger patty and baked potato. I still got sick. There must have been something in the burger that contained gluten. This is a nice restaurant but they need to step up their allergen materials and training.

We went there with no wait. Service was ok, waitress having a bad day. After mentioning gluten allergy, the manager came by (that is the policy). He was helpful and a lot of the food can be made gluten free. I had the brisket with the beans and collard greens. So as a celiac I felt quite safe and happy BUT the food was quite bad. Brisket too fatty, gross what I assume is artery still on there and flavorless. Friend got the pork shoulder which was also very bland. So for a safe celiac meal I can recommend. But I would not go again because the food did not taste good.

They were very nice and accommodating! Had the manager come to our table to ask whether I was celiac or could deal with fries in a shared frier. They do not have a gf dedicated fries but I was super happy with my pulled pork platter that had green beans and collard greens as the side and all of their BBQ sauces are gf. I had no reactions and the food was delish!

Excellent service and explanation of their practices. My ribs weren’t good though unfortunately, they were like a rock. If you want to try another place, I like Boss Hogg’s in Pigeon Forge!

Great place with many gluten free options. No GF menu but they have a sheet listing all the ingredients. Someone comes to your table and goes through just about everything on that menu that you can eat and all the ingredients. Some dairy free options available as well. Super nice people and very patient explaining the menu.
Great BBQ place with extensive GF options and is a restaurant that takes pride in knowing the challenges of celiac diners! Gatlinburg has a surprisingly good selection of GF friendly restaurants and this was my favorite. The hostess and waitress both went over the menu and was sure to make sure that the kitchen knew I had celiac. The food was great! Pulled pork, collards, and mashed potatoes which was awesome. It’s a big restaurant in a tourist tour can be a food factory but this place is the exception. It’s big but they seem to take pride in providing good quality food.

I agree with the review right before me. As soon as I mentioned that I couldn't have gluten a manager came out with the ingredient menu. Explained everything thoroughly. The BBQ sauces are delightful!! As was the loaded baked potato.

Wonderful food & experience! I told our waitress I had Celiac she told me they had a separate menu with all ingredients listed & what was safe for me. The manager brought the menu to me and explained everything, and even told me they changed to a gluten free worcestershire sauce & soy sauce, but mentioned she couldn’t say if the one in Pigeon Forge had done the same. All the meats and sauces were safe. She explained how they could adjust certain items to make them gluten free, and that the fryer was shared so it was not safe. I had a baked potato topped with pulled pork, butter, cheese and chives. It was AMAZING and came out so quickly!

Unfortunately I have very mixed reviews of bennetts in terms of safety. The first time I visited bennetts, the food was delicious and I didn’t get sick. However I was told all the meats and sauces were GF even though the mustard sauce was labeled as containing wheat right on the bottle. The second time was busy and I was ordering to go. My receipt read “glupin free” with no allergy note despite me asking multiple times for them to note my allergy. When I got my food, I found a single piece of macaroni mixed in with my baked beans multiple bites after I started eating….

So delicious! Pretty much all the meat and sides with exception of fried food was gluten free. Got burnt ends with a baked potato and coleslaw, and because my husband ordered potato salad and I wanted to share they went ahead and brought out an extra helping that was from a fresh container to avoid contamination. Felt really safe!

We ate there while in Spring Break. Called ahead and the person who answered the phone was also the hostess at the Gatlinburg location. VERY knowledgeable! So many options for my son. He could basically have everything but fried foods, the bread and mac n cheese.

Wife is celiac. Before we ordered, the manager came out and took us through the GF options. ALL of the BBQ sauce was GF (the honey one was incredible). While there was no dedicated deep fryer, they still had plenty of side options. The two of us split the three meat platter with burnt ends, pulled pork, and ribs. For sides we got potato salad and cole slaw, both were excellent. Wonderful dining experience.

I had a great experience here. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about what was and wasn’t gluten free. All the meats, sauces and several of the sides were gluten free. They had procedures in the kitchen to manage cross contamination including changing gloves, bleaching workspaces, etc. The food came out and was delicious. Best part is I didn’t get sick and I’m sensitive to cross contamination. I would come again!

I had a baked potato with chopped brisket on it and it was so good. The butter they have is the creamiest butter ever and had no problems. It simple on the inside but Jean our server was super friendly

Hard to say how safe this option is. GF was not marked on the menu (would be really helpful if it was). Not sure if there was a separate prep area.. But most of it was meat, so we just avoided the obvious foods with gluten. Didn't get sick.

We had dinner at Bennett’s. The food was wonderful. I had the 25$ Texas Sampler and I couldn’t even finish it. In addition to being gluten free I also follow a carnivore lifestyle for autoimmune healing so I eat only meat. Every meat minus the hog legs (which is cooked in a shared fryer) is gluten free. I had brisket, chicken leg, burnt ends, pulled pork and ribs. The burnt ends are the best I’ve ever had and are absolutely worth the two dollar upgrade. I tasted the baked beans and green beans before sending them off to a son to finish. They were both wonderfully seasoned and cooked just right. The manager came over without being requested to discuss all of my concerns of food allergies. She said they wipe down the prep area as needed and change gloves to avoid cross contamination. We will definitely be back again. We really enjoyed our meal!

My daughter and I are both celiac. When we visited, the waitress brought the manager to the table to clarify which sides we're gluten free. We had the brisket with green beans, baked beans and coleslaw. I had the spicy BBQ sauce and my daughter had the house sauce. Both were very good. The portions were small. While I did feel safe eating there and neither of us got sick, it was really just average tourist food.

If you’re looking for GF BBQ go here! My husband and 10 year old son have celiac and enjoyed dinner here.

We had a wonderful experience at Bennett’s!! Our 4 y/o has celiac. We asked for the allergy menu and our server, Jen, immediately notified a manager who promptly came to our table and was very knowledgeable about the gf options. All the meats and sauces are gf and he loved the pulled pork. He couldn’t eat the dirt and worms that comes with the kids meal, but the server was sweet enough to bring us the bag of gummy worms to show us that they were also gf and gave him a whole plate of them. We felt very comfortable eating there and had a great experience!

AMAZING! I am gluten free and dairy free and the manager came out and explained e everything to me. I was able to get a full dinner (pulled pork, potato salad, and coleslaw). Everyone was so friendly and knowledgeable, great place!!
I LOVE THIS PLACE. So friendly. The manager came to talk to us to make sure we were safe from gluten. The food is great and fresh. The moonshine drinks are out of this world. Just go!!!
Yes
The staff was very informed in regards to Gluten Free, Even knew which sauces I could and could not have.but over all it was not my favorite BBQ place. Had the brisket, smoked sausage and pulled pork with the salad bar.
Hostess and staff well informed. Gave me a list of ingredients/allergens in their whole menu, making it easy to order. They even knew that the Worcestershire sauce in the BBQ sauce was GF! I had smoked chicken, baked potato and coke slaw. Very tasty and I was fine.
Yes
Enjoyed the BBQ pork shoulder, baked potato, and coleslaw and did not get sick. The restaurant has a detailed allergy menu that is extremely helpful in ordering (includes sauces and seasonings), and the hostess staff is helpful regarding your Celiac. However, I had to get past the waitress who declared, in a really strong southern accent, “Oh, lawd, one of those!” when I told her I was Celiac. I guess you have to expect that in the South.
Yes
The staff here is amazing. When I told my server I have a gluten allergy, she immediately sent over the manager who went over everything with me and answered all questions. They took special care to make sure that the bread was served separately. My husband and I split a meal, so one of the sides he ordered was not GF, and the kitchen manager came to double check with me to make sure I knew that it was not safe for me to eat. They took great care to make sure my dietary needs were met, and the food was delicious too!
Yes
The food was delicious! The staff very knowledgeable. As soon as we walked in the server immediately got the manager who came to the table and explained everything. My husband, who is not gf, loved the food. And he is very picky!
Yes
Absolutely amazing. They don’t have an exact gf menu but the manager was able to give me a list of ingredients and walk me though what was gf. She didn’t have to even look it up. They took me seriously from the start. No sickness and I feel great. The gm talked to me as well about the company and how they are with allergies. Simply amazing

Staff was very helpful and careful with my dinner. Pulled chicken and coleslaw were delicious.

They do not have a separate gluten free menu, but the managers are very helpful and knowledgeable about what is safe. All BBQ sauce except the mustard is GF (due to soy sauce), and almost all of the meats were GF. I had ribs, a baked potato, and baked beans. Did not get sick and I’m celiac. Do NOT have a dedicated fryer and are super up front about that. They have angry orchard (bottled) :) I did not feel like I was an inconvenience to them, which was HUGE to me!
Yes
Very knowledgeable staff, the hostess and waitress were both very attentive to our gluten-free needs. The hostess came over and showed me which bbq sauce I could not have. There were still 3 other options of bbq sauces that were gluten free. All of the meats were gluten free and many of the sides. The food was delicious and I felt very safe eating here!
Yes
Server was knowledgeable, manager also came out to clarify the allergy. They were meticulous about making sure no cross contamination occurred. BBQ was great, tons of options, plus a salad bar. We were very pleased with our meals and the service!!!

I have celiac and am super sensitive to cross contamination. The server helped me order and the manager made sure to go as far as to cut my baked potato with a clean knife himself. I was very impressed. I had the BBQ chicken, dry, with baked potato and potato salad.
Terrible service. They served me bread when I said not to. Food didn't taste good either.
Waitress knew the items I definitely couldn’t have. I asked for glove changes etc. First plate they brought me had bread on top of all my food. Sent it back and specifically told them it had to be made new not just removed. Ate the second plate (against my better judgement). Ended up super sick and miserable the rest of the day.
No
Food was delicious. The menu was not the most specific. They had a list of the ingredients in each food item. I have Celiac and did not get sick.
Waiter provided an allergy menu. Wasn't very comfortable answering guestions however, they allergy menu provided ingredients and details. We were able to figure it out and daughter enjoyed her meal without getting sick.
Waitress immediately brought manager over when I began asking about gluten-free options. She was able to inform me verbally in addition to handing me a printed list of ingredients for their menu items and sauces. As most restaurants, she gave the caveat regarding possible cross-contamination in the shared kitchen. My son has the most serious reactivity as he is anaphylactic to wheat, while I do not have confirmed celiac but an intolerance, for sure. We had plenty of choices. All meats. 3 of the 4 bbq sauces. Green beans, Cole slaw, bbq beans, etc. Food was good, and we ate without negative reactions.
Yes
As soon as we said gluten allergy, the waitress got the manager. The manager knew exactly what gluten was and what all it can be in (including soy sauce). He said anything fried is a no because of shared fryers. But the bbq was safe and all the sauces except for one. The green beans and apple sauce were safe. There was probably more safe options, but this was for my 5 yr old, so we just stuck with the options we knew she would eat. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because they didn’t have anything about allergies listed on their menu.
