Burt the manager was very helpful. My food was good and I even got the gf cookie. They told me all gf items are prepared with dedicated equipment so it seems like it's pretty safe. I can see how if wait staff is not careful one could get glutened so I think one must not be afraid to ask questions. I wish their menu was a little broader but I will try BJs again!
Usually good. However won't eat pizza anymore due to cross contamination. Haven't had problems with other dishes though.
management is basically worthless... on their cell phone Facebooking at the bar while guests are sitting there with the wrong food. I've been here 4 times and contaminated twice. Wrong cookie for desert by the waitress... how do you do that? Service is hit or miss Brenna and Greg in the bar are good. That's the only reason for 2 stars instead of zero.
Good pizza and good dessert. Nothing much else for gf options.
Super limited menu! I don't even think it's worth going. When I go to eat with someone and this is what they choose, I eat ahead of time. Like others say, very slow service.
Ashamed to admit that we kind of went just for the dessert! Gluten free dessert in a restaurant is a rare treat. My daughter and I both had gluten free salads (Santa Fe) which were really good and the pizookie was to die for. Neither of us had any issues afterward. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that service really is pretty slow there. It took a long time to get our food.
Good menu and very good about contamination. The only reason I don't give them a 5 is that you can't get outta there in less then 2 hrs. They have service problems and I have always have to send back my food at least once, not because of gluten issues, just badly cooked or wrong food. Very safe place to eat for celiacs.
Awesome!! Ordered the house salad with honey mustard dressing, and shared the gf mediterranean pizza and chocolate chip pizacookie!! They did a great job and seemed knowledgeable about gf. Will definitely return!!

We have been to Bj's several times. The gf pizza and capresse salad are wonderful. Most of our visits the manager came to our table to explain how they prepare gf and their efforts to avoid cross contamination. Only once did we encounter an idiot server but we just asked to speak with the manager and everything was fine. My biggest complaint is that I am also wheelchair-bound and it is a real hassle to get to the restrooms. You either have to enter through the take out door or traverse carefully through the crowded bar area.
FYI...we were at BJ's Restaurant & Brewery in Colorado Springs, CO today with my family. My kids are NOT gluten-free, but I am due to Celiac disease and my husband is to support me. We went there because we were told they were great supporters of GF patrons. When the waitress came I asked her a ? about an item on the menu and she didn't know..she took the gluten-free menu from me and proceeded to search..then she looks at me and says how about a potato because I really don't know about anything else...I said sure. Then when my husband ordered, off of the GF menu, she interrupted him and said is this an allergy or a preference? Not sure WHY she would ask that but I can say it made us VERY nervous about why she would ask that...is the food that is a "preference" going to be cross contaminated?? I ordered the sirloin...it was bland, no seasoning at all..it was supposed to have onions sauteed on top (per the menu), it didn't...I asked if they had any sauce, that was gluten-free...the man who brought out the food said he would check...he didn't. They promised my sons ketchup...we never received it and we had to ask for silverware. Overall, I was NOT impressed with the restaurant...the gluten free food was BLAND...and over all a poor experience was had by all. Just wanted to let you know...I know they claim support and endorsements by the GiG...but from my experience there are definitely BETTER GF restaurants out there!

Wonderful to g-free customers!!! They offer g-free beer, cider, pizza, & dessert!!! The g-free menu has the entire menu on the back, in a grid, to list all ingredients from wheat to dairy to MSG!!!! The staff does a wonderful job taking care of you and I will certainly be back!
Great service, gluten free menu including gluten free pizza! Mgr came over personally to confirm that our order was gluten free. And the food was fantastic !
Very particular about keeping gluten free foods separate. Very responsive to celiacs. I had an awesome lunch-- gluten free raspberry beer, chicken and a fabulous gluten free hot Chocolate chip cookie, and the best part was their gluten free root beer float--I haven't had root beer since 1981-- what a treat-- not sick at all-- would definitely go back but I'll need to wear pants with a stretch waistband for all the great gluten free food
delicious food! my boyfriend (non-gf) and I shared the gf pizookie dessert at the end of our meals and he even thought it was amazing. definitely would go back if I'm in the area again.
So glad to find a new gluten-free option in Tallahassee. They understand how to prevent cross contamination. The tomato bisque made for a great starter. For the entree, the balsamic glazed chicken is amazingly tender & tasty. I substituted the mashed potatoes for a baked potato. My friend had the GF Hawaiian pizza which was one of the better GF crusts we've had. We shared the pizzoli (?) which is a warm GF chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream on top. I will definitely be back.
This is one of my go-to places. There's a smaller selection for gluten-free folks, but it's all good stuff. I particularly like getting the cheddar mashed potatoes/steak or pork chops/veggies. Feels like a good square meal compared to the pizzas. The waiters seem knowledgeable. I've always felt fine after eating here many, many times.
I was so happy to find this place as we were biking and I was starving but the taco places didn't seem safe to me. They have an extensive GF menu and I asked about gluten safety. They assured me they went to great lengths to take precautions. I ordered a Santa Fe salad. The host returned and asked me what kind of dressing I would like since the Santa Fe dressing was not GF. Good sign. I got my food and walked a block to the park. When I opened it I noticed there were tortilla strips on it. The GF menu specifically stated the salad needed to be free of tortilla strips to be GF. So I walked back to the restaurant. They were very apologetic and remade my salad. It was delicious and I ate safely. Bottom line-vigilance is always necessary!
I was worried because of the other review so I made sure to be diligent when ordering. I'm really sensitive with cross contamination so I was sure to let Ed our waiter know. He said they have a special allergy button they push to make sure it's made correctly to avoid cross contamination. I ordered the cfgf pizza Hawaiian style and a baked potato with chicken, chives, and cheese both to split with my husband. I also ordered wyder's pear cider. I noted that on the gluten free menu the potato does not come with Alfredo sauce which it normally does. I was going to mention that but decided to wait to see how they brought it out. The manager brought out the pizza and stated that it was gluten free. The waiter brought out the potato. I noticed melted cheese but also what looked like Alfredo sauce. My husband who is not celiac nor sensitive thought it was cheese but upon tasting it verified it was Alfredo. I asked the server who apologized profusely saying he thought the potato was only for my husband and did not make it gluten free. He took it and brought another one that was gf. He also brought us a free gluten free Pizookie with vanilla ice cream which was amazing! Besides the error and hostess service (which is why I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 stars) it was a great experience and I didn't get sick at all besides the ate a little too much dairy gas. My brother who is also sensitive to gluten but not as sensitive as me also ate with us. He had a patron margarita, salmon with brown rice (I guess rice pilaf is not GF), & a Pizookie w/ ice cream. He also did not get sick. Overall a great experience, you just need to be diligent as always because no one except you will suffer if you get glutened.
New location-just opened. I was super excited because I love BJs brewhouse and have been to BJs before in other locations. Always a fun atmosphere and your friends and family who are able to drink beer will most certainly enjoy their choices on tap. I have always had delicious meals at BJs (before and after going g-free). Since going g-free I have never had any issues at any BJs and have had a variety of meals. Consistency is the key with a chain restaurant, especially with food allergies and celiac- BJs takes that seriously-it was evident as I watched them training the Nanuet staff opening weekend. Good g-free menu, could be bigger, but nice choices. LOVE their berry burst cider. Always have. They also have a g-free beer which I haven't tried yet. Pizza is super thin crust and fantastic-my sister who is not g-free loved my pizza as well. Their menu is clear and the wait staff is very aware of food allergies in general. Only gave it a four because they don't have g-free buns for their burgers, nor do they have a dedicated fryer. Otherwise it'd get a 5 plus. In all honesty I've never had anything other than their pizza and salads even before going g-free because those were so delicious. Go! You won't be disappointed!
Pretty extensive gf menu with all the extra options like pizza toppings well labeled for additional allergies. Went on a Friday night around 6 and it was pretty packed. My food was great (baked potato with chicken, broccoli, and cheese) but the rest of the group was evenly split between finding their food disappointing (burger and chicken fried steak) and enjoyable (pizza).
The pros are that they have an allergen chart and a (small) gluten free menu. However, I find that the cons are much greater. Even the gf menu comes with limitations and substitution suggestions. It's not very inclusive of Celiacs like myself. I ordered a wedge salad. It was nothing special. Overall I was not pleased, and would not come here again by choice.
If you are worried about things like cross contamination, you really need to stay away from this place. The gluten free food tastes delicious, but the servers are barely knowledgeable. Tonight was the last straw. I had one guy (not my server) bring me a pizookie, and when I questioned him he swore it was gluten free. Then I asked him since when do gluten free pizookies not have chocolate in them, since this was a peanut butter cookie, and he took it back and brought me an under baked actual GF pizookie. I've had too many near misses from this place in the past. I cannot afford servers who don't even know what they are bringing me. I'm done with this place, and if your concern is low tolerance for gluten, you should be too.
Although I was brought a NON gluten free plate. I made our waiter aware of this, he was very apologetic. Took it back to the kitchen and I was made a new plate. It was AMAZING!!! Delish!!!!!!! I had the balsamic glazed chicken from the gluten free menu!!!!! I will be going back!!
My expectations after I read all this amazing reviews here have been so high, but the Pizza was really disappointing. The dough tasted exactly like the frozen GF Pizza you can get in Traders Joes, but the tomato sauce tasted really strange. For this stuff I don't have to pay that much. What I really appreciate is that they have a hugh list with so many allergens, that helps a lot.
