My experience here was fantastic! The founder of Burtons had celiac and it shows! Every menu item except for the spring rolls can be made gluten free. The waitress was super caring and helpful answering questions, and announced the gluten free plate when bringing it to the table. The food was delicious and I would absolutely recommend.

My husband and I have gone here a bunch, one of our go to places. I did get sick from their gluten free bread, but I have other food sensitivities. Celiac wise I normally get the burger and fries. I’ve been told the fryers are dedicated GF, but do have dairy in them. Last time I asked was probably over a year ago. Haven’t had any issues so far.

Was given French fries from the wrong fryer and throat started to close up in restaurant. They didn’t even apologize or call 911. Worst experience ever! This happened after both my husband and myself advised I have gluten allergy. Careless staff not paying attention to what they were doing. Will never go again!!

Normally Burton’s is a GREAT gluten free experience. Today was a bummer. The waitress was not knowledgeable about GF options listen on the actual gluten free menu. After we got that sorted out she rang in my husband’s dish as gluten free instead of mine. It all worked out. And everyone was very nice and apologetic. But it was definitely not confidence inspiring.

Amazing food. Everything on the menu can be converted to gluten free. Quite a few dishes have quinoa in them, and I react to quinoa, so that limited my options. They have gluten free buns. I was pleasantly surprised that I could eat the chips with my spinach artichoke dip and eat the fries. No reaction.

Love love love Burtons! If you have a celiac, just go and know you’ll be safe! I’ve been a zillion times and never had an issue. One of the owners (or maybe it’s a board member since they expanded, not sure) is celiac so they take it very seriously! Separate GF menu with tons of options! Everything in their frier is GF, there is always a couple GF desserts - sometimes it’s even a lush chocolate layer cake (NOT just a flourless cake!). They have buns, bread for the table, and pasta. Usually in May they do a special Celiac Awareness month menu that is always great - my fav was the year they did Caesar salad with croutons, chicken parmesan, and chocolate layer cake (the first time I saw those there - although the cake and salad can sometime be found on the regular menu now). Just go!! Been to multiple locations (this one the most) and its always awesome! Fav dish: Fish sandwich (I get grilled bc that’s what I like but it comes fried) with fried pickles, pickled red onion, tarter sauce, with a side of fries (comes with cucumber salad but their fries are amazing!!)

Burton’s offers excellent food & service. As their owner has celiac, almost all menu items can be made GF and easily DF as well. They have GF/DF bread, Udi’s buns, penne & sometimes spaghetti, as well as a dedicated GF fryer. If you haven’t been, I would highly recommend!

This was a great find! Almost everything on the menu can be made gluten free! I had buffalo chicken dip to start and it was delicious. I had a burger and fries for dinner - it’s always a great day when you can have fries when you’re out to eat. Also, they brought gluten free bread over to start. I’d absolutely recommend this place!

My 2 year old (she is very reactive) and I both recently diagnosed with celiac, i read all the great reviews and chose here to be the first place to eat out since our diagnosis and i cant say enough complimentary words of how great the experience was... Service was amazing and the gluten free menu was very extensive ! Our condition was taken very seriously by all staff and the manager made extra effort to put my family’s anxiety of cross contamination at ease and made sure to bring the plates out herself. Complete recommendations across the board for staff and food for this place !

Best gluten-free bread ever I actually got to have a sandwich I was so excited and they brought me my own gluten-free bread as an appetizer and gluten-free beer! Best gluten-free dinner I've had out yet

The food was very good and they had a real gf menu that was very similar to the regular menu. When my take out bags arrived, every gf item was labeled with a sticker and placed in a separate bag to alert staff of the allergy. I didn't get sick and that's always a win in my book.

Best GF restaurant on east coast! Chef can tailor almost any meal to GF. They serve GF bread, GF blue cheese, GF deep fryer (aka not cross-contaminated), all of which are great examples of a restaurant that understands gluten allergy customers. Seriously, I've been to dozens of GF friendly restaurants in Boston, NYC, and DC and this is my favorite. A guaranteed top 3 for anyone with celiacs.

This place was amazing. They have gf menu but my husband had regular menu and they were almost identical. My husband had the gf fried haddock sandwich and I had crab crusted haddock with Mac and cheese. Everything tasted great. Lots of appetizers, main menu food and a chocolate cake that I got to go because I was to full but looks wonderful.

I am blown away by my experience here! The hostess asked if anyone needed a GF menu before we were even seated. There was a blurb on the menu about how seriously they take accommodating dietary restrictions. My food was delivered to the table separately by gloved hand with confirmation that it was gluten free. Celiac can be so isolating sometimes, especially in restaurants, but Burtons gave me a sense of normalcy and inclusivity. Great job Burtons!

I've eaten here several times and have never gotten sick. They are knowledgeable and always happy to accommodate my diet. The gluten-free menu is extensive. I love their burgers and how their buns don't get mushy or fall apart like so many others do. This is the only restaurant I've ever been to that offers a gluten-free bread service (although it is an extra cost) - the focaccia is delicious. Usually I don't have room for dessert, but I did try the cheesecake one time and it was amazing, creamy and decadent. I wish I lived in town so I could go here all the time.

Burtons has a dedicated GF menu with lots of choices. My son ordered the burger and fries and he said it was delicious, especially the bun. Also, the server brought his food out first, then our food was brought out separately. Service was great. We will be back.
