Not celiac safe! If you choose to eat here you better watch your food prep like I did. Told they clean the griddle and use clean utensils- technically yes but the rag was not clean. The spatula started clean but then was dropped with the glutened utensils. Was able to stop the cook as she picked it up to use again on my crepe. The nuts were housed under croutons so stopped her from putting those on my crepe. Used gluten gloves to scoop eggs from pan to plate- yes scooped with hands rather than a spoon. This is too bad because it is a cute cafe with a novel menu. We will not be back.

Ordered a GF crepe and was told ALL crepes could be made as GF. I don't think anything was cleaned or that cross contamination was a concern. I had my crepe and a hot chocolate and got very sick.
I have eaten at Chez Elle multiple times and have found it delightful! Not only has the staff bent over backwards to meet my GF needs, but went above and beyond for our recent wedding anniversary. It was on a Sunday, so we went for lunch. We ordered a savory crepe each, mine gluten free while my husband regular. When the staff learned it was a special occasion, they wanted us to choose a dessert crepe on the house. We chose a chocolate cherry delight, and expected it to be modified with a regular GF crepe rather than the chocolate crepe as listed. To our surprise, the chef made a whole batch of GF chocolate batter for just our one dessert! I HIGHLY recommend this excellent restaurant to both regular AND GF clientele.

Went with my mom (both gf and df) to this cute little authentic Parisian Creperie. The staff were very knowledgeable and happy to answer questions and make accommodations on our order. I got the Patriot and she got the Jardín, and both were amazing! Multiple options were gf/vegan as they were listed or could be very easily tweaked to be safe. Highly recommend!!

Fantastic small shop. They have mostly savory crêpes, with a selection of dessert crêpes. I had the Monsiuer, spicy sausage with cheese, potatoes, scrambled eggs and a spicy cream sauce. A friend had the ice cream and cherries dessert crêpe and said it was great: sweet, but not cloyingly sweet. All crêpes can be ordered gluten free. They use a separate pan and change gloves before making any gluten free order. I also had the lobster bisque, which was fantastic as well. Leave the bread off the side, and it’s gluten free. Coffee was excellent, as well. Highly recommended, and we weee discussing the next time we can come, as we finished eating.

Was really excited to try this place after reading some of the good reviews from others. We came in on a Friday morning and I am sad to report that they do not have a dedicated surface for their GF + buckwheat crepe options. They are cooked on the same surface as the regular gluten-containing crepes, and when I let them know I had celiac they simply apologized. I ended up ordering the Greek salad which was tasty, just not as substantial as I was needing. Staff was friendly and my partner enjoyed his regular philly cheesteak crepe.
I might be comfortable eating here if they cleaned the surface between and I had brought my cross-contamination pills, but unfortunately I did not feel safe ordering any crepe items this time.

Amazing gluten free crepes! I’m very sensitive and did not get sick. I had a crepe with lemon curd, strawberries and raspberry sauce. They had a huge selection of crepes that can all be made gluten free. So good! I would definitely go back given the chance. The coffee was delicious too!

Pretty good food, not polished top notch crepes, but edible. I didn’t have any issues, but the food was average. I had the Jamon crepe which had cubed ham. The crepes look good and the components were fine, but seemed more like a thin pancake and fillings from Ihop instead of from a French creperie. I also had a takeout dessert crepe and the crepe didn’t seem to be fully cooked. (There’s a difference between being tender and being raw). They have 2 kinds of gf crepes. gf crepes - which seem like thinned pancake batter and also buckwheat crepes, which I didn’t try. They have a disclosure that cross contamination is a possibility, but they take precautions and I’m happy to report I had no issues. The bottom line is that it seems safe, but the food isn’t top notch. The restaurant itself is charming, and I would go there if a group or a friend wanted to go as a novelty, but I won’t make the effort to go back on my own. The food just wasn’t at the calibre of a traditional creperie. I would only give it 3 or 4 stars.

SUCH great crepes and have never gotten sick here! I will come back every chance I get.
Yes
its breakfast, what's not to love!!!! I always get the Citron Crepe -GF. Never had a problem with cross contamination. I would take Chez Elle over 1st Watch any day, but its downtown and a bit farther to drive for us to get there 😐
Yes
I was concerned for the same reason Ryan was! They appeared to clean the griddle and I did not have any reaction. I'm celiac and very sensitive! Will definitely be coming back!
Although the cashier described the process to try and minimize cross contamination, when the chef made my gf crepe he did not follow that description. The griddle was initially wiped down well, but then he forgot what he was doing and put the normal batter on the freshly cleaned griddle. After this misstep, he only swished across the griddle with a dry paper towel once. He also appeared to use the gf utensils on the normal batter he mis-poured and then didn't switch again when he went to make my gf crepe. Overall a sad experience since the crepe looked delicious and we had seen such positive reviews.

sooooooooooo good and vegan friendly
It was like a trip to a gluten free Paris! Absolutely amazing. I asked them to clean the grill and change gloves, no problem.
Awesome! Talked to the cashier about gluten free items. Had them change gloves and wipe off the grill before making my meal and they did. Was happy to see they also have separate utensils stashed up on high shelves that they pull down to make a gluten free item. I had an egg and cheese crepe and it was delicious. I would've ordered a banana Nutella had I not been so full. Oh you can also watch them make your food. This has become increasingly helpful to me now that I have to avoid cross-contamination. I was confident my meal would be safe before I started eating.
Delightful experience. The staff was very attentive and took the time to clean the cooking surface. It is wonderful to see businesses like this one providing gluten free meals for people who don't have a choice. We will be back!
Had a wonderful meal and NO repercussions. We were out with an all options couple and I could enjoy the same foods as them. So much less drama about me. Plus the food is delicious. We went on a Friday and from 5pm-7pm there is a special. For $25 you can get a savory crepe, soup or salad, a sweet crepe and a glass of decent wine!
Tons of options and the food is excellent!
