"If you avoid gluten, don't eat our flour tortillas. If you are highly sensitive to gluten and would like us to change our gloves, just let us know at the start of your order. You should be aware items containing corn, including corn tortillas (chips, soft corn, and crispy corn tortillas) and corn salsa, may have a small amount of gluten from potentially co-mingling with gluten-containing grains in the field."

I just cannot understand how a great chain like Chipotle can offer completely different experiences based on region. St. Louis gets it! Houston does not!! This location was my second attempt to eat Chipotle in our new city of Houston, the first location changed their gloves but then began handling a floor tortilla and when I said I wanted a "naked burrito bowl" I was told they don't have them! I said I'll come back another time. Then I gave this location a try because if the previous reviews. I told them I needed to eat gluten free and they looked at me like it was the first time they heard of gluten. When we got to the cheese and lettuce I asked if they had fresh batches below because of the gloves with flour reaching into it. They said it was fresh today and it was all they had, even after I said I cannot have anything that touched flour, so I went without cheese and lettuce. Then the topper, they comped the meal when I got to register, they thought I was asking for a "FREE" meal! Thank you for the free meal but I really enjoy paying for my gluten free meals that are prepared properly! Please Houston and Chipotle please offer people who don't have a choice reliable gluten free meals and options!

Counter clerk not knowledgeable, HOWEVER - the cook made her way to the front and handed me a card with all of the gluten free items (which was pretty much everything but the tortillas). I would eat at Chipotle again, being gluten free.

Very good GF food if you avoid the flour tortillas (get the bowl). Last visit I informed the server that I had Celiac and requested that the server change gloves. She cheerfully washed her hands thoroughly, put on fresh gloves, and retrieved a bowl from an unopened package. I have eaten here many times and have never gotten sick. Nice to be able to watch preparation right in front of you to ensure that everything is done correctly.

Most of their staff is knowledgeable and careful about contamination issues, but we've had mixed results eating here. Meats, cheeses, salsas, etc. are served from the same containers that touch all of their flour products. They willingly change spoons, but that doesn't eliminate the traces of flour already in their containers. Had a bad reaction with my last visit and doubt I'll ever try them again.

In my opinion this restaurant is no longer safe for celiacs. Yes, they will change gloves, but cross contamination abounds and I saw little chance of getting safe food. It's a shame because chipotle used to be a place that I could rely on, wherever I was, to feed my children safely.

This is my go to place for a quick bite. Fresh, good, and always accommodate when you say you have an allergy. I can tell you they have a different procedure for the entire line when you make them aware of your needs. New gloves, hands washed, same server takes your entire order all the way to the bag you carry it home in. Only the flour tortillas are a gluten ingredient so you're safe with everything else. They never touch utensils to the order either - always drop it down, so no cross contamination through there either. Love, love, love!

When I mention Celiac or "gluten allergy," they immediately wash hands and change gloves! One of the few places I feel safe eating. However, beware of the lettuce and cheese! They use (gloved) hands to reach in and grab it, which means it's been cross-contaminated. I wish Chipotle would recognize this and use spoons or tongs instead!

The food is great, as always! I go with the chicken bowl; however, watch if you get cheese on yours. They do not change gloves (unless asked), which means you risk cross-contamination from employees sticking their hand in the cheese after handling tortillas. My advice: skip the cheese or ask that gloves are changed. This is a newer location, so it may just take some time, but I'd err on the side of caution.

I absolutely love chipotle but get sick every single time I go. Despite that they change gloves, the spoons inside the bar still touch the flour tortillas and therefore contaminate the foods. I've watched them and it seems that the spoons that touch the wheat tortillas the most are the rice and beans because they are the first in the lineup. So if you want to chance it, skip the rice and beans. Also skip the first lettuce bin because they touch that with their hands and use the same hands to roll up the Burritos.

They do more for gluten free than any place I've been to and they are only a fast food chain. They change gloves, wipe counters, and don't mix cheese with lettuce to avoid cross contamination. I went here for the first time since being diagnosed with Celiac because I had a coupon for a free burrito. I informed the staff (a very young guy, 25 at the very oldest) that I had a gluten allergy and he looked at my in the most befuddled way. He had never heard of gluten, so I ultimately told him I was allergic to wheat. He told me I couldn't eat their flour tortillas - really?! Thank you for pointing out the obvious. He began to prepare my bowl without changing his gloves (this should be a standard allergy protocol), and he wasn't pleased when I asked him to change them and begin again. He also had little information about the ingredients in their salsa, etc. and their cross-contamination procedures. By some miracle, I ended up being okay after eating my food, but I'd be very hesitant to go in again. Chipotle really should be doing more training for new staff.

Always good options, although there is a chance of cross contamination in certain toppings even if the server changes their gloves. Some items like lettuce and cheese are served by hand (instead of scooped with dedicated spoons) so if someone earlier in the day ordered a flour tortilla and the server touched the tortilla and also the cheese/lettuce there could be remnants of gluten on those toppings.

They changed their gloves after my request and explanation of needing Gluten Free. The girl serving me made some rude comment about it to the cook and both turned to look at me. She then put her new gloves down on top of the flour shell contaminating them again. I asked for a corn tortilla kids meal quesadilla and she said there was no longer corn tortillas available. I told her i was just at another location a week ago and they had. She was extremely rude and said " well we dont carry them anymore." She was very unaccommodating and clearly needs more training on what gluten free means.
