Chuy's is a great place. It's not only one of the best restaurant choices at Opry Mills. It has some of the best foods (not just for those who do not suffer with gluten intolerance). One big tip is to ask for the gluten/dairy free menu. Even more importantly ask for the manager.

Chips are dusted with flour. Queso has gluten. So things that seem safe are not. Though the waitstaff and management was very knowledgable about the gf options sometimes I want more than salad.

Our waiter, Jerson, was phenomenal at checking on every item on the menu I asked for. So sweet for a staff member at a restaurant to take that much time out of his day!

Chuy's recently opened up near where I work and it was chosen for a business lunch. I called ahead to find out if they have a gluten free menu and they do. I appreciate when they have a menu I can ask for because it opens up communication with the server. When I arrived I asked the girl who seated us for the gluten free menu and she didn't know it existed. She asked a manager and it was brought to me. The gluten free menu is very limited - especially for a Mexican restaurant where so much is normally naturally gluten free. You cannot have any of the meat (all marinated in beer), anything fried like chips (shared fryers), rice (not sure why), or even queso. It was painful to sit and watch the others snack on chips. I asked for some corn tortillas so I'd have something to snack on before the food arrived and they obliged, but I wasn't sure if I could eat the salsa or other dips they provided. They weren't on the gluten free menu. I tried to ask the server, but she either didn't know or didn't understand what I was asking about. I don't see why the basic pico de gallo-type salsa would be unsafe, but it wouldn't be the first time I've been surprised. Their guacamole is gluten free, but I'm not a guac fan.I ordered cheese enchiladas with boom-boom sauce and refried beans. They listed the boom-boom sauce and one other veggie red sauce as safe. The enchiladas were delicious and I really liked the boom-boom sauce. The refried beans were refried beans. I wish I could have had rice.If they would make a change so that the chips and salsa were safe for me to eat, I would go back and probably frequently. I love Mexican, but without chips it's just... sad. At least one other Mexican restaurant in the area fries the chips separately, so I will stick with them.

Chips are fried in same oil as sopapias, corn and flour tortias are cooked on same utensils. Meats are all marinated in sauce with a rue. Salad only safe option.

So far, I haven't had any problems. The manager supervises the order and cooking. It gave me assurance.

Not many options here. All meat has beer in it. They can make gf chicken fajitas. Sad because this was a fam fav before being gf.

The manager came out, was very knowledgeable, and was able to suggest and fix things not on the regular gluten free menu. Ask for the baked chips and 'boom-boom' sauce. Light and delicious. Wait staff was enthusiastic about accommodating and modifying for gf, too. A one-of-a-kind Tex-Mex restaurant where all the food is made from scratch. Watch one of the staff make tortillas right in front of the kitchen.

They are aware that most of their menu is not gluten free due to reuse of fryer oil. Chips are not safe at this location. The staff was very helpful in creating me something I was able to eat using the blue corn tortilla and chicken.

Manager very helpful and knowledgeable. They are more GF friendly at this Chuys than other locations. Chips, rice, shredded chicken, ranchero sauce, jalapeño dip (served with chips), salsa, beans all GF.

Also has a Dairy Free Menu. Claim possible cross-contamination, as no dedicated GF kitchen area.

When i asked the server if they have a gluten free menu she informed me they do not. BUT the server was gluten free and eats here often! She told me everything is gluten free besides the queso and flour tortillas (obviously) and any of the dishes can have corn tortillas substituted for flour. She also said they are as careful as possible to make sure there is no cross-contamination. Love the food here and happy i can still eat basically everything.

The food here is good BUT this is NOT a safe gluten restaurant. Manager told us there is virtually nothing on the menu that is gluten free except the Mexi Cobb salad without dressing. Corn tortillas are made in the same place as flour tortillas. Creamy jalapeño and most other sauces are not gluten free. Ate at this restaurant for ten years before celiac diagnosis.
