I make sure to visit this restaurant when visiting family in area. They put in order as celiac/medical if you tell them so use dedicated fryer. Even get own dedicated basket of chips and salsa. Food is very good.

This restaurant is absolutely amazing! The owner spent time explaining all precautions they take to keep those with celiac disease safe. I’ve never felt so safe eating out. The food was amazing as well. My only regret is that I don’t live near here. I highly recommend!

Just fantastic. We told them my child had celiac disease and they brought out separately fried tortilla chips. The gf choices were many and the food was also very tasty. There was even gf dessert!

They know what they are doing here. Sat down and they brought out chips and Salsa. I asked if the salsa was GF and they said yes. Waitress went 1 step further and asked if I had an allergy. I told her that I had Celiac's and she took the chips back and brought out a freshly prepared batch to limit CC.

Dedicated fryers and nearly the entire menu can be modified to be GF. They have earned my business anytime I want Mexican food.

Amazing classic Mexican restaurant. In business for over 50 years, yet understand dedicated space and dedicated fresh ingredients. In talking to their chef, and on their website, they make a distinguishing between gluten, sensitive and celiac for medical reasons. We tried the burritos, chimichanga, enchiladas, and tacos. Food was all delicious and the portions were huge.

The whole menu with the exception of the real flour tortillas (obviously) can be made gluten free. They have a separate area for gluten free to be made, change gloves, separate oil for frying. The owner checked on us multiple times. The food was delicious! My daughter is celiac, she had the Mexican pizza, which was amazing!! She had no sickness what’s so ever.

I have not had gluten free flour tortillas in a restaurant since pre diagnosis. They were delicious. They make all gf in a separate area. Staff was very knowledgeable. Burrito and taco were delicious.

Best experience I've had dining out since being diagnosed with CD! Ordered a chicken chimichanga. It was scrumptious, and service was excellent. Only restaurant I've been to that I felt like the workers understood and cared about providing GF food (other than Bibibop which is completely GF).

I’m a very sensitive celiac who is cautious about dining out. Not only is their menu very accommodating for gf, the owner even came out and talked to me (I didn’t ask her to, she just did!!). She and her staff are the kindest people you’ll meet. The info they provide is clear, and their gf knowledge is impressive.

Oh, and all the food I’ve ordered is incredibly good!! My favorite Mexican restaurant by far.

My fiance can't normally eat out but this restaurant goes above and beyond when it comes to safety and cross contamination. When told she had Celiac they switched to different cooking utensils and pans, and came out and asked her any questions they had about her order. Plus the food is amazing. Almost anything on their menu can be done gluten free.

This was hands down the most amazing experience I have had in a while. 3 celiacs ate here. The owner talked with us in detail about how and why they did gluten free. The whole menu!!! Between the 3 of us we had a tamale, chimichanga, enchiladas, burrito, beans, rice and chips with salsa. Truly amazing. Everything is organic too. We live an hour away and will be driving in.

Staff was knowledgeable. Even set napkins on the counter and put my fork and salsa on the napkin to prevent CC. Food was amazing. Got the Mexican pizza and some tacos and I didn’t get sick.

If I could rate this more than 5 stars, I would. The staff is thoroughly educated in keeping things celiac safe and everything on the menu can be made GF. Even though I live 2 hrs away, we will be making the trip in order to eat here again!

Yesterday was one of those days where another door opened after my Celiac diagnosis. The food was delicious and more importantly I didn’t feel sick or any symptoms. The owner was so kind. She came to our table and offered to and answered any of my questions and I sense personally took care of preparing my food. The staff was great and put me at ease. This place has my highest recommendation and I will be returning any chance I get. El Tipico is a gem for people with celiac and other allergen issues. It was the time I had real Mexican food at a restaurant in 2.5 years. Thank you for being so attentive to my dietary needs. Everyone else at our table raved about the food as well. Looking forward to my leftovers today. 😉 It’s a real treat when for 2 hours dining out you can have the peace, normalcy, and happiness at a restaurant that everyone else takes for granted. Thank you and I will be back! 👍

This place is amazing! They go above and beyond to ensure their food is not just gluten free, but celiac friendly. Everything on the menu, except the flour tortillas, are gluten free. They used to make their own flour tortillas but now order them from an outside company to try and cut down on the cross-contamination risk in their kitchen. They also have separate gluten free fryers and cooking space. They staff are extremely accommodating and knowledgeable. The food is also delicious!

Food was very good. Felt like they knew how to handle cross contamination. Specify that your are celiac and they will take care of you. Only downfall is the waitress forgot to get me a drink until I had to approach her and the other server was a bit dismissive. If back in town I will definitely come back.

Simply the BEST food we have ever put in our mouths. The entire menu is GF (but they do have flour tortillas if someone should want one). The food is fresh, organic and expertly prepared and presented. Yes, the choices are Mexican but don't think of it as your typical Mexican restaurant. Think of it as going to your organic farmer friend's home to embark on an authentic, nutrient rich culinary adventure. You will leave completely satisfied and wholly fed in the true sense of the word. The owner visited our table many times and shared with us as she would have with old friends, making the atmosphere even warmer and more generous. Leaving made us wish we lived closer (we're from Indianapolis), but we will certainly drive 4 hours to dine here again. What a treasure!

The best mexican food I have ever eaten. We have gluten and dairy allergies. The owner called in to make sure we were taken care of, then came in to prepare our food. Such a fabulous business owner and staff!

Friendly, helpful, accommodating to all needs as far as gluten free. I have other dietary restrictions and they were able to accommodate those as well. I have never been here before but felt like I knew the family by the time I left. Great experience, highly recommend.

Authentic Mexican food made the old school way. Super delicious organic, grass-fed, non-GMO restaurant that caters to special diets (gluten free, vegan, allergy friendly). I am a celiac. I ordered enchiladas (Chicken with verde and beef tips traditional). The meat was incredibly tender. The sauces were fresh and light. The chips and salsa were wonderful. My husband ordered Tamales and they were also authentic, hand rolled, deliciousness. Everything is made to order from scratch. It does take a little longer to get the food but it is totally worth it! I will be driving to Ohio (from Detroit) from time to time just to get my El Tipico fix!

Tons of options! The quality is great and I've never gotten sick. They even have dairy free cheese available for some options. There is a long wait, but worth it.

We called an order in it was very cold we where there in 15min like they told us.It was enchiladas dinners for 3 the woman on the phone acted like she could not understand us but she spoke good English. There was absolutely no reasoning for taste To them that was a waste of $40.00 plus asked for Sauce hot.We got none at all when I was a kid the food was good...They sure have went downhill I will tell all of my friends not to come there taco bell is better and cheaper. Will never eat there again!!!!!!
