Cute little restaurant with yummy and creative crepes, all of which (sweet and savory) were available made from Buckwheat.

Okay, crepe and very expensive. I got the Washingtonian crepe, which has a beef roast with gravy. The waitress seemed knowledgeable and let me know it was GF. For $28, the plate was mostly salad and I only had 4 small pieces of beef. The restaurant had a 10% required restaurant fee and then tax was almost 10% as well. For 3 crepes, two iced coffees, and tip, it was over $100.

Excellent food. I had the Alexandria Crepe. A Buckwheat crepe filled with Ham, mushrooms and Swiss cheese. The wait staff which I’m guessing was short staffed? Just no refills offered but decent service. I will go back again.

This was amazing! In northern VA, you know the Happy Tart in Falls Church has crepes, but these are much lighter and feel healthier. The savory crepes are made from buckwheat and they were not “stuffed” with cheese, which was really nice. I got the Alexandrian, my partner got the Parisian. I’m very sensitive to cross contamination and I did not get sick. Will definitely be back!

Oh my word! The Bella is the bomb! Chocolate, Nutella, and strawberries. You can’t go wrong. Very scrumptious! Hoping I’ll be able to come back another day. Really wanted a second.

They cook the buckwheat crepes on the same surface as the flour. They do clean in between, but be aware. Staff was kind and knowledgeable. Food was yummy. I got the crepe items without the crepe

I have a gluten allergy (not celiac). Our server was knowledgeable and I felt safe eating there. I had the Californian crepe and it was absolutely delicious. I did not have any reaction. I will be back next time I am in the area.

I had to ask the server for gf options as they are not marked on menu. The savory buckwheat crepes are gf and the sweet crepes can be made with the buckwheat batter. I will report back if I have a reaction. Very delicious.

I was a little nervous in eating it because I’m very sensitive, and wasn’t sure if the gf buckwheat would harm me. The food was sooooo delicious and did not bother me after eating it.
Yes
Food was exceptional. As stated on their menu all savory crepes are 100% GF and all sweet crepes can be made GF on request. Service was good and so was the coffee! I had the market veggie savory crepe with eggs - I would definitely return!

Yummy crepes! Helpful with what was and wasn’t ok.

Staff were a little rough but service was quick and gf crepe was awesome
After seeing some reviews about potential cross-contamination, we called to ask about their gluten free food prep. We learned that they don't have any, that the gluten free crepes are prepped and cooked on the same surfaces as the food containing gluten.
When my husband pointed out that this could make people with gluten intolerance sick, he was told that they are "gluten free, not celiac free." I assume she meant celiac friendly, but either way it doesn't seem like a good option.

If you ask, they may be able to wash the pan. I'm not celiac, but highly sensitive and have never been sick.
I wasn't able to eat there because I called to check and it is a shared cooking surface.

Delicious buckwheat crepes! Very knowledgeable staff. I am not celiac but stein sensitivity and I had no issues. Highly recommend. Agree, a little pricey but cute restaurant and great food is always worth the price :)
Not safe for celiac.
They use the same pan for both types of crepes, they only wipe the pan. Our server had no idea what I was taking about, the manager walked by and overheard me asking. I haven't been very sensitive lately, so I went for it. I'll leave another update if I have a reaction. It was delicious!

Pricey but the food is superb and the staff is very accommodating and knowledgeable.

Best gluten free crepes ever! Tastes just like ones we had in Paris!

Perhaps it was a new waiter, but one of the staff members said something that directly contradicted what another said. I'm happy to say that I did not get sick and the food was very good. You need to ask for any of the sweet crepes to made with the buckwheat flour, and the gentleman who helped me said he wasn't entirely sure the sausage was safe. Still a great place to eat. I'm not sure celiacs would be completely safe if they talk to the wrong person.

Great food. Helpful staff! Very celiac conscious

really enjoyed eating at Fontaine. My girlfriend has celiac, she ate some of the french fries and had no after effects as all. Felt celiac friendly Will definitely go there again.

Just to clarify, not all of the crepes are gluten free. The desert crepes are NOT gluten free, but the others are. Overall a nice little caffe with solid food.

Very cute cafe. All of their crepes made with buckwheat are gluten free. Delicious food.
The entire menu is basically gluten free when you have the crepes made with buckwheat flour. Delicious and really cute atmosphere
