Used to love it, they changed the crust so now it has cauliflower in it, not a fan!

Great experiences at Hawthorns. The manager came out to talk to me to make me feel safe. I got a pizza and didn’t get sick. I’ve also gotten the pasta which was amazing!

I was informed that they use the utmost precautions and had not had complaints. I tested my pizza with my NIMA sensor and it was found to have gluten. When the manager was made aware, the response was, “So?” I would definitely not eat here unless you have a Nima and I was not impressed with their willingness to learn and prevent mistakes in the future. Furthermore, their lack of basic costumer service and contrition was also a problem.

This may have been the worst pizza I’ve ever had, gluten-free or not. Typical mass produced pizza crust that’s like cardboard, mozzarella was fine, but the toppings for the “meat eaters” special? Bacon bits, tiny diced ham cubes like you’d get cheaply from a grocery store, Italian sausage that was more like brown hot dog cut at a slant and some pepperoni. Fortunately I’m in town for business so I won’t even have to ever consider this place again. And I’m already starting to itch, so it’s going to be an awful night thanks to this dinner.

My daughter has always eaten pizza here without getting sick.

Started with the 'chopped salad' which consisted of dark green and black pieces of lettuce. Four green olives cut in half and one piece of tomato and a container of balsamic dressing. Not a 'side salad' but a large dinner salad . . 9.99.
After reading the other reviews, I was hopeful that the 'spinach pizza supreme' would be better than the salad. It's on one of those cracker crusts with the holes in it so it will cook through. Surprised to see that the cheese didn't cover the holes because it was plopped on the middle of the crust with a large margin of only crust on the outside. Four pieces of spinach and four plops of garlic on top. Very disappointing after all that wasn't present during the meal to get the stabbing pains of being glutened before the meal was over.

I called ahead and confirmed again while there that this location has a separate kitchen space for the GF items (no shared skillets, colanders, etc.), and the food is made to order. I'm not sure what the kitchen situation is like at the other locations, though. I had a delicious shrimp penne alfredo & can't wait to go back to try the pizza. For the celiacs, I'm very sensitive & didn't have a bit of trouble here.
Yes
Great tasting pizza and penne too! A hit with the whole family :)

I told them my daughter was Celiac and they have a separate prepping station for allergies. Even the chicken on our salad was in a different area to help reduce cross contamination. The pizza was ok, but the GF penne Alfredo was absolutely delicious! My kids devoured it. Will def return!
Love the pizza and pasta just wish they had a bigger GF menu. They prep food in a separate area and appear to be very careful. We have even had good luck with takeout.
Love the chopped salad and pizza. You have to let them know you have celiac and they will do a special prep

Great Penne Pomadora. Have not had their pizza yet.
I was just diagnosed with celiac disease and this is the first place I’ve been out to eat. They have a gluten free menu! I told the host as soon as I walked in that I have celiac and need my food completely separate from gluten food. She got the manager, who I told the same thing. She assured me my food would be cooked separately and informed my waiter that I have a gluten allergy. The waiter double checked who had the allergy once we were seated. My food was cooked separately and brought out separately. We even had to box both my GF pizza and a gluten pizza and she took those back separately to be packaged. They took very good care of me and it doesn’t seem like I’ve had any gluten exposure despite the fact that they cook pasta and pizza in the kitchen. I got a cauliflower crust pizza and is was delicious! TL;DR: the staff was knowledgeable and took great care of me. They have a gluten free menu and I don’t think I was exposed to gluten.

GF pizza crust is a cauliflower crust, and made in house. It is cooked in a special deep pan to help with cross contamination in the pizza oven. The crust is extra crispy.

I called the restaurant to confirm that their GF items were made in a separate area and do not co-mingle with traditional items and was told “yes”. No real explanation other than that. My daughter has Celiac’s and got sick within 10min of eating 4 bites of GF pizza.
GF pizza tasted fine, quality was fine but obviously it made its way to touch other non GF items or gloves were not changed.
