A great place to go for upscale gluten free food. I have been there many times and never had an issue.
I love it here. The food is awesome. The staff are amazing. Highly recommend.
Great experience! GF rolls, a big selection, delicious food, accommodating staff, and even desserts (try the chocolate pudding cake- best flourless cake I've EVER had)!
I'm not Celiac, just gluten sensitive...but I've dined in a lot of restaurants that claim to have gluten free offerings and let me say, this one is at the top of the pile! They offer a lot of GF options - more than many restaurants. I was able to have fried clams, which I have always loved but haven't been able to eat in years! The waitress was extremely knowledgeable about their GF process and selection, and even offered a GF roll (one of the best I've ever had). Even the dessert menu has GF options. The Belgian chocolate mousse parfait was wonderful. Will definitely visit here again!
Very attentive, careful, and aware. Dedicated GF fryers, even the beer batter is made with GF beer. Server Andrew was very helpful in answering questions about the menu.
As always they are careful to accommodate all food allergies and sensitivities
One of the only places where we can get gluten free fish and chips, since they have dedicated fryers. Several other items on the menu are gf as well. They also bring out great gf rolls.
Fantastic find! The first person we encountered was the hostess followed by our waitress.Extremely gluten aware. Waitress even knowledgeable about condiment safety. Dedicated fryer. Dedicated gluten free menu.
Loved the GF calamari, rolls, and seafood casserole. I look forward to my next gf meal there it was all amazing.
Amazing gf fried oysters and calamari!
Excellent food, service, & selection for gluten free & celiac! I had the option to enjoy cuisine that I thought I might have to forget such as calamari. I placed reservations for a birthday celebration via Open Table noting that there was one of our party (myself) with a gluten allergy. Upon arrival, our table was set with our menus including a real menu for celiac not just a page or a binder nor were prices left out as other places do with their allergy menus. My full meal (appetizer, entree, & desert!) was delicious so I over indulged in foods normally off limits. There were even gluten free dinner rolls that were tasty & warm. They seemed as if they were baked on premise although I neglected to inquire. They were certainly far superior than most of the alternative beads I've encountered. Our server as well as the rest of their staff were knowledgeable & attentive. Each of the gluten free selections were brought out separately from the regular dishes to further ensure against allergy cross contamination. It's wonderful to be able to bookmark a nice restaurant for safe gluten free dining and not feel like an inconvenience. I will definitely be keeping this place as one of my dining options.
Very good gf options! Delicious food, love that they offer me my own warm gf rolls too. The breading on the calamari is really yummy and it's a great treat!
Food was phenomenal and the waiter was perfect with my GF food! I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I am extremely sensitive to cross contamination and I didn't get the slightest bit sick. I loved it!!!
Our server, Brian, was super. Instantly offered how meal would be prepared to make it gluten free. Very tasty gf rolls were brought out for my son and myself. Manager brought out our gf meals. When asked if we were there for Mother's Day (a day early), we said no but for son's birthday and he brought out a little birthday treat, gf, for my son. A truly enjoyable experience.
Great experience. They've actually made their entire trying operation gluten free now to streamline their kitchen. So the menu of options is extensive including fries, fish and chips, etc. very knowledgeable and conscientious staff.
Excellent service. Very careful with allergies when preparing your order. Ellery J. Is very friendly and checks on you often.
This place is fantastic! Everything fried is gluten free and they use canola oil (no soy!!!)!!! This was the first time my son was able to order French fries or onion rings at a restaurant! The gluten free dinner rolls are from "somethingsweetwithoutwheat.com" and they were fabulous! This place took note of all of our many, many allergies, and cooked our food to order. We will be returning!
The staff was extremely knowledgable. The menu indicated what could be made gluten free which was the majority of the menu. We had the crab cakes, risotto cakes, and French fries.
Great selection and great food.
Food was incredible and I made sure to specify that I had celiac disease. The manager (rather than my server) brought my food out just to acknowledge that it was GF, which was very nice. The GF rolls (free of charge) were warm and absolutely delicious! I got the fish and chips and my meal was huge and just wonderful. Will be coming back next time I'm in Boston.
Excellent! ! Very knowledgeable and caring staff. They have dedicated fryers so you can have fried fish here and fries but the onion straws are amazing! All of it was light and crispy. They also serve you gf bread rolls before your meal so you aren't left out watching non celiacs enjoy their bread. The portions are large too and the price is good. I would definitely go back and highly recommend to anyone needing a gf diet.
Serve delicious GF rolls from Rosie's bakery. Manager delivered my food.
Gf? No problem! They really have it figured out. Gf rolls to start, gf clam chowder (ok- not quite as good as the regular I remember from years past), many gf entrees, including fried items that I'm told are all gf and fried in a dedicated fryer. Didn't try the fried food, but the baked scrod was moist and delicious. Felt very well cared for and did not have any problems later. Isn't that what we all want? To feel safe and enjoy a meal with friends/family. This was even better- it was really delicious, too!!
The service was acceptable, despite the waitress forgetting to bring out my fries then blaming it on the other server. But, the gluten free bun for my sandwich smelled funny and had a strange taste. Initially, I thought it was the broccoli I ordered, however, after finishing it, the smell continued. I checked the bread to see if it was molded, but it looked fine. The smell made me nauseated! I'm going to stick to the seafood from now on!
I have reviewed them in the past after a major disappointment. Yesterday's visit was phenomenal though. The GF rolls were warm and soft, almost like my husband's non GF rolls. The GF fried calamari was delicious with consistent breading and chewy squid. The fried Fisherman's Platter was delicious and the clams were tender and yummy. The waitress really seemed to understand my needs and the manager brought out my meals. We went back hesitantly after a bad experience there this past spring, but now this restaurant is back on the top of my list!
Great service!! The chef came out and assured us they took every precaution they could! The fryer does not have gluten items Fried in it so you can have the French fries or the onion strings! I had the grilled shrimp, French fries and polenta no problems! (And some of my husbands onion strings - they made his meal gf too so that I could have some of his!)
Lots of gluten-free options. There was a little miscommunication between my waiter and the chef, but the manager went out of his way to make it right for me. Gluten-free protocols are clearly in place. I visited in Nov. 2015. Read my full review over on the blog: http://www.eatingoutwithout.com/2015/11/legal-sea-foods-review.html
This is a dream for a celiac. 100% dedicated gluten free fryers, manager oversees preparation and delivers gluten free food in different colored plates. Huge selection of gluten free items and the kitchen is committed to keeping everything separate and safe. Best place in Boston for a Celiac go dine. And delicious to boot!!
I don't usually even like seafood, but I find that anything I have ordered is quite good at Legal Seafood. They have a dedicated gf fryer, and they take you seriously when you say you're celiac. I didn't get poisoned when I ate there, and I tend to react to very small amounts. You can eat here with confidence.
