Great experience at Locals! We dined al fresco to enjoy the spring weather and the people watching. The moment we mentioned we were dining gluten-free our waitress said they had gluten-free bread and gluten-free pasta. Udi’s brand bun but it didn’t crumble like the ones I get from Publix.

According to the waitress one customer purchases a case of the buns from them because of the difference. Something about the buns being individually wrapped was the best she could make of it.

I had the blackened mahi mahi sandwich with caramelized onions and thick, fresh, perfectly ripened tomato with a side of squash, zucchini, and onions. My dining companion had the GF pasta with shrimp and sausage in a red sauce instead of the cream sauce and side of the purple pea salad.

Can’t wait to eat here again next time in town.

Ate here for lunch. I had the pecan arugula salad with grilled shrimp. It was delicious! There are many items marked GF (*) on their menu. The waiter was helpful in getting answers to my questions concerning gluten, garlic and onions. I felt comfortable in eating here. No ill effects. We were a party of 5 along with a dog. We were allowed to sit in their quaint alleyway seating (very picturesque!). I would definitely eat here again.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Fairhope. The Mahi sandwich with gluten free bun is so delicious! Our waitress was so kind and knowledgeable about serving gluten free customers. Highly recommend!

Great experience! Great food & atmosphere sitting outside. Server helped me pick out food options. I had fish sandwich minus the bread and mashed potatoes. Both were delicious. We also had Key Lime pie which was amazing but I of course didn’t eat the crust!

Locals moved a few years ago. The new address is 312 Fairhope Avenue. Love this place! The ‘new’ location is lovely - especially when you eat outside. It’s worth the drive over from Mobile. The fries are not usually safe but they have several great sides. We love the blackened mahi-mahi sandwich. Their gluten free bun is very good!

We ate here during the Arts Festival, so it was crowded with a long wait. In normal times, a reservation might still be useful. Because of the festival, the menu was limited to sandwiches and burgers. I had a burger on a GF bun. The burger was huge, tasty, and very filling. The bun of course fell apart so a knife and fork came into play. The ambiance is completely charming if you can sit outside along the side alley. A good burger + wine + ambiance made for a delightful evening meal.

Gluten free bun was one of the best I’ve ever had. They have gluten free pasta as well but I went with the burger instead. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful.

Fryer no longer GF because of a new appetizer on the menu with gluten that goes into the fryer. GF bun there is good though. But such a bummer not to be able to get the loaded fries!

They dip the gluten free buns into shared butter and then onto the same griddle. The fries come with a questionable seasoning salt on them. Celiacs be aware of probable cross contamination.

Staff is very knowledgeable in protocols & precaution. The hand cut fries are amazing and only items used in the fryers. The lamb burger is amazing! Fabulous staff. One of my families favorites!

With the addition of a good tasting and good textured bun, most of their main entrees can be made gluten free. I order the chicken sandwich on a GF bun with red pepper aioli which came with a few fries and was a good choice. I’ve had more flavorful aioli before but overall a good meal. My husband and kids had the burger and thought it was great. My non GF/picky kid was not impressed with the “grilled cheese” which was melted cheese on a focaccia bun - not what kids think of when it comes to grilled cheese. Overall it was a good safe choice. The best part is that they have a good sized collection of Guncles individually wrapped GF desserts. Be prepared to split bc each bag is $7-8.

This is a nice, cozy little mom and pop restaurant located in downtown Fairhope. I had a grilled chicken sandwich on a gluten free bun. The homemade potato salad with bacon was also very good. They also offer several prepackaged gluten free deserts. I applaud this restaurant for choosing to offer not only a gf meal but also a gf dessert. After lunch, my family enjoyed going to the many shops around the restaurant.

This place is great! The gluten free bun tastes amazing and nearly all of their ingredients are purchased local. I had the grass fed burger on gluten free bun, no cheese (I'm dairy free), bacon, fried egg, and the garlic aioli sauce. I also had their local elderberry kombucha which was 👌. Next time we're in Fairhope I'll be having all my meals here! Oh and they have a good selection of GF desserts, but none were dairy free so I couldn't try them. The customer service here is great too!

They offer GF buns. Only meat on the flat top. Only fries in the fryer. If you ask them they will clean the prep area and they can tell you exactly what toppings and stuff are GF. The buns are toasted on a separate toaster from the regular stuff. Also they offer Guncles desserts!
