I’ve eaten at Lou’s for years without problems for the most part. Their wait staff is knowledgeable of gluten and what items on their menu are Celiac safe. HOWEVER, this past week, I am rather certain that (despite noting my allergy and checking on my receipt that it was indeed noted) I was served a toast with my omelette that was gluten containing and not GF. The toast was a little burnt, so at first I figured maybe that’s why the texture felt a bit off, but before I left the restaurant, I started to feel a reaction. I only had a few bites, but I am now very sick. I would strongly recommend caution when dining here.

Told me they used a separate grill and toaster for the gluten free bread, and came out to tell me about the steps they took but that they couldn't guarantee no cross contamination. Food was delish!

Horrible, absolutely horrid. If I could give less than 1 star I would.
We told the waitress we were gf and asked about items on the menu. I ordered the corned beef hash and poached potatoes with a side of bacon.
When my order arrived the bacon looked like it had been cooked and reheated several times, the hash was burned and then I found a fried piece of chicken (definitely gluten covered) buried in my hash. Needless to say I lost my appetite and didn’t finish my meal.

This place is a gluten free mecca. They have sandwiches, muffin, and other options. The staff seemed knowledgeable too. When I ordered a gf sandwich, the waitress told me that they gave me the gf chips too!

I’m a little disappointed in my most recent order. I got the corned beef omelette with GF toast. Only one measly slice of toast. And the omelette had a sad amount of filling and almost no cheese.
Quality has definitely changed for the worst.

We were so happy to find Lou’s in this little town. Went for lunch and then breakfast the next morning. Lunch sandwiches were delicious and the GF bread was toasted in a separate toaster and prepared on a clean cutting board. Breakfast there were DELICIOUS GF muffins as options. 2 meal and not sick!

An old fashioned family restaurant in a college town. No dedicated fryer or toaster. I found the chicken salad on lettuce to be safe.

I felt sick after eating a GF meal at Lou's. The meal had a fried item, not sure if they have a separated frier, even confirming with the waitress.

This is a popular restaurant. It was an hour wait but we scored 2 seats at the bar. The bartender was great. Knowledgeable about GF options. We had the lobster with spinach in a cream sauce and chicken broccoli Alfredo. Both were excellent but the lobster sauce was best. We started with bread sticks which were wood fired slices of GF pizza dough. The bartender brought us house made marinara to dip in. A real treat. Wish we had saved room for dessert. GF brownie sundae. I’m sorry we didn’t have room!

I grew up going to Lou’s and I love still being able to eat there! Love their gluten free pumpkin muffin- it tastes like the real deal!
Was sick before I left the restaurant. The waitress understood Celiac but it appears the kitchen staff does not. Not worth the risk.
