I usually eat at a different location and am always happy with the safety and taste at Lupe. My experience at this location was not a great one due to a waiter who did not let me complete a single sentence during our entire experience, including “I have a gluten allergy” which was cut off at “I have a g…” Luckily the majority of the menu is gluten free so the odds were in my favor and I made it out of there safely but that’s a pretty concerning quality for a waiter to have if you need to communicate a food allergy.

Lupe Tortilla is amazing for Gf. Tons of gf items that are marked on the menu. The best beef fajitas ever. I’m celiac and have never gotten sick there and have been several times.

Ask for one of the trainers as your wait staff. Extremely knowledge about cross contaminating as well as ingredients in all items. Never have an an issue here!

Almost all the menu is gluten free except for the flour tortillas. You can ask for corn tortillas. Waiter was knowledgeable and the menu says it that the only thing is marked non gluten-free are the flour tortillas and the items that are made with it.

These reviews must be from employees. Every time I have eaten here (three strikes you're out) I have gotten sick from cross contamination.

Their fajitas are amazing. The staff seemed very knowledgeable about what was GF and what was not.
I was a little bit worried about cross contamination because it’s so busy and the kitchen must be slammed. However, I’ve been twice in the past couple of months and didn’t have an issue either time. I played it safe and I didn’t eat any chips or dip. I ordered the steak fajitas, but didn’t get tortillas. They say the corn tortillas are GF, but I’m concerned about the possibility of cross contamination with those. The server wasn’t the most knowledgeable off the top of his head, but checked with the kitchen on a few questions and got back to me with answers (which is what I prefer instead of acting like they know when they really don’t). All around, I had great food and service both times I went. I will gladly go back.

The staff is knowledgeable, and there are lots of great gluten free options.

Awesome in everyway! Lots of gluten free options. So many that they just mark on the menu those items tgat are not. Fatitas were the best I've had and tgat is really saying something. You won't be disappointed!
My favorite place for Mexican food! Gf items are marked on the normal menu. I usually take the beef fajitas with corn tortillas (which are amazing!) and replace the beans (not gf) for black beans (gf). The regular chips are not gf because they use the same fryer. But you can ask for the gf chips that they prepare in the oven. It takes a bit longer to get them (usually they arrive at the same time with your order or just a bit earlier) but they are really tasty! Again, the beans for the chips is not gf but the salsa is ok.
Yes
Food is good and waiter was up to speed on GF. We brought our own chips because they do not have a separate GF fryer.
We really like this restaurant and so far we have had zero problems with getting hit accidental with gluten.
I eat here without any issues! I do not eat the tortilla chips because they share the same fryer with gluten containing fried items so if you avoid those you will be good!
Lots of options - not so sure about the chips - I haven't gotten a firm response on whether they are gluten free or not - fajitas are awesome
Yes
Eat there all the time without issues. Gluten items are marked on the menu. Chips are gluten free as well!
Great Tex Mex with safe chips (not cross contaminated in fryer oil). Great queso and lots of corn tortilla options.
I was excited reading another review that said Lupe's chips were cooked in a dedicated fryer and almost dove into the basket on our table. Thankfully I waited and the waitress confirmed NOT a dedicated fryer at this location. She did offer baked tortillas that would take 15-20 minutes.
I spoke with the manager before we were seated. The manager confirmed that most menu items don't contain any gluten ingredients. The wheat symbol notates the few menu items with gluten containing ingredients. HOWEVER, (a) their friers are shared, so all fried menu items, including the chips, are cross contaminated and therefore not safe for those with Celiac Disease, and (b) the corn tortillas are made in the same pans as the flour tortillas, so all menu items that include tortillas, e.g. fajitas, tacos, etc., are cross contaminated and therefore not safe for those with Celiac Disease. There is one exception for the tortilla rule the manager mentioned: the tortillas used for the enchiladas are premade corn tortillas from a bag, so the corn tortillas in the enchiladas should not be cross contaminated. The manager continued to advocate for me in the back of the house when they were prepping my food to avoid cross contamination.
Also, I just wasn't impressed with the taste of their food.

I am writing in the restaurant because I’m so frustrated. I have eaten here MANY times and been reassured by many employees that it was safe to eat fried foods. These include the ones marked on the menu as gluten free. There is no guarantee that these items are safe. The frier is “usually” chips but also could include an occasional item with gluten. I’ve not gotten sick before but as we know with celiac the reaction isn’t always immediate. Downright dangerous.

They had a dedicated fryer for chips. Waitress wasn’t sure but then went back and confirmed from the kitchen that did. Food was good. Didn’t get sick.
