The server was very knowledgeable about celiac. She confirmed with the chef that they would cook my eggs separately. There was a lot of gf on the menu.

Felt completely comfortable eating here and the food was delicious. Waitstaff asked about food allergies and the floor manager came over to confirm about cross contamination risks. They cooked my eggs and my hash browns in a separate pan to reduce any cross contamination risks. Ordered the breakfast tacos which were labeled gluten free on the menu. They were amazing, and I will be back.

The waitress immediately asked if we had any allergies/issues with cross contamination and after we placed our order a manager came by the verify the allergy and that what was ordered was safe! They had many options and everything was well marked! I am not celiac but did not experience any issues after eating here!

I can’t say enough about this place. They always ask about allergies, cross-contact concerns, and are able to make accommodations for a variety of allergies. I always feel safe eating here. The pancakes are amazing!

The kids meal is really cool! It is served in a bento box style. My daughter had pancakes, eggs, yogurt and fruit. On the menu it shows what is gluten free with an orange circle and gf sign! I do wish they flagged the gf items though when bringing out food.

The waitress asked immediately in taking our order if there was a food allergy. I got the gluten free pancakes with blueberries, and a side order of bacon. The pancakes came in a stack of four, and very filling.

Gotta love a place that takes food allergies so seriously! My dining experience began with the waitstaff asking about any food allergies and they were more than accommodating with making sure they could handle my request for a GF meal.
The GF pancakes were awesome and the shrimp and grits is one of my favorite meals in the area. There’s a reason this place is always packed and has a long wait. Go put your name in, grab a coffee from the cafe next door, and walk around the nearby neighborhoods to kill some time. Well worth the wait!

Great service! Gluten free pancakes and bread.
Food is freshly made but not many GF options, was disappointed there weren’t more. Most of the menu is fried foods or non gf carbs.
I got the Bmore bowl. It was fresh and very tasty but the prices are pretty outrageous- it was $19 for the bowl. The spicy bloody mary was awesome! It cost $60 for bfast including 1 drink.

Wonderful service! As soon as your server comes to the table they immediately ask if you have any food allergies. They are a completely nut free restaurant and provide a delicious selection of gluten free items.

This may seem unfair based on the other reviews. I choose this place based on the reviews while in Annapolis for the day. They were extremely busy and there was a 30 minute wait. But I knew I could get Gluten free pancakes so I waited. I was seated the waitress did not ask if there were any allergies like in the above review. That was ok I am used to that. The waitress took the order but they had someone else bring the plate out. This gave me an uncomfortable feeling was it my gluten free pancakes?? Sorry Miss Shirley but they did not taste the best 😕. They were cool to the touch and like rubber.

First thing the wait staff asks at the table is if anyone has allergies. When I said celiac they explicitly wrote down that cross contamination was a concern, and while this didn’t happen to me I saw multiple tables have the chef out to discuss allergy issues and to check on ingredients. The gluten free menu is a little limited, but the pancakes were good enough for me to not care. Also, there are definitely things on the menu not explicitly marked as gluten free but that can be done safely (sides of both eggs and turkey sausage). Both times the waitresses confirmed with the chef to make sure as well.

I have a shellfish allergy & celiac and have a allergy detection service dog for both my allergens. Often when something is celiac safe, it’s CC risk for shellfish. This staff and the chefs were VERY knowledgeable. I ordered the Fiesta N Siesta without the corn chips as there was risk of CC from shellfish because of the fryer, but they are gluten free! The chef was incredible, took extra care & remade my food when my service dog alerted the first time because of one of the spices. He cleared it after words and it was absolutely delicious! I’d high recommend and would love to go back there honestly.

I have celiac disease and I was very confident with the care taken with my order. The waitress asked straight away if anyone had allergies. After I ordered, the manager came to our table and spoke to me about the precautions they take with allergies. I ordered gluten free blueberry pancakes and fruit salad. The portions were huge. 4 large pancakes. The pancakes were very dense-typical of a lot of gf items. Tasted pretty good. I never got sick which was awsome since I was traveling. I would definitely go there again if in the area.

Very Celiac friendly. The pancakes are huge, a regular order is a lot for one person. We visit every time we are in town

Great service, knowledgeable staff, fantastic food. Completely separate prep area for pancakes! Highly recommend for Celiacs.
Yes
Has a separate gluten friendly menu, staff was helpful and mentioned they use separate surfaces and gloves when making GF items
We went there twice during our visit to Annapolis and both times were amazing. I got the quinoa omelette and the buttermilk pancakes (plus hot chocolate). All great options and they have separate pans for everything. They immediately ask first thing if there are any allergies they should be aware of. Great experience all around.

April 17, 2019- Fantastic. Servers and kitchen were very aware of cross-contamination and I had a wonderful meal. Ate the Maryland (crab) omelet with GF toast. All the items from their episode on Diners, drive-in and dives with Guy are not GF :-( Would have loved the Po' boy or the coconut cream french toast. Oh well. Lots of selection and I didn't get sick.

Gluten free pancakes! It’s a pricey treat, but I take advantage whenever I can. They have a protocol where the manager comes to speak to you about their precautions. They offer GF bread for sandwiches. No dedicated fryer. I come here for those pancakes.

Shirley’s is our favorite breakfast spot. The pancakes are great and so are the sandwiches

The family has allergy people so they use that knowledge for celiacs. It’s great to have a breakfast place

Best place...very careful about cross contamination. Wonderful wait staff.
Have gluten free Items and went out of the way to make sure there was no cross contamination. Sausage and pancakes not quite as good as should be even though gluten free.

OMG. Fantabulous GF lump crab grilled cheese sandwich. I will totally come back. All sandwiches can be GF plus GF pancakes.
It is such a gift to find a restaurant that has top notch allergen awareness along with incredibly delicious food offerings! My daughter and I split an omelet and the gluten free pancakes. Both were fantastic! I would highly recommend Miss Shirley’s and only wish we lived closer to enjoy it more often!
Very nice atmosphere. Breakfast and lunch. Several good options for gluten free. Pancakes were huge and delicious!
So good! Many choices for gluten and dairy free. Pancakes were huge and fluffy. Service was excellent. Worth the wait.
Ordered gf pancakes. Okay, but dry. I was by myself. I would like to have given a higher rating, but server paid more attention to tables with more patrons. My first time, so I didn't know there were specials. Waited 15 mins to get order tsken. She did ask if my request for gf was preference or allergy. Never asked if I wanted more coffee. 20 mins from the time I finished until I was asked if I wanted my bill. Not able to get her attention during that time. I would go back to try something else and plan to be more aggressive if the service is so discriminatory against a single patron .
A bit more pricey than $$ more like $$$ but the food was fantastic! You get alot of it and the waitress was very attentive to our allergies. I was impressed.

Beautiful beautiful gluten free pancakes. Very conscientious staff.

Wonderful experience. First question was "Does anyone have any allergies I should be aware of?" My son ordered the GF pancakes, an omelet with fresh fruit and GF toast. He was so happy. He tried to eat everything but got full. He can't wait to go again.

Service was slow but it's closing time so I'm sure they wanted us out of here. I ordered gluten free pancakes but they were so dry & tasteless. I put 3 containers of syrup and still couldn't eat them. With all the great reviews I read prior to coming here I am very disappointed.

I opted for the omelet of the month instead of the GF pancakes since it sounded so delicious. And it was. Will just have to go back tomorrow.

Fantastic service. Manager came out to talk to me once my waitress asked if I had a good allergy. Explained how everything was cooked and was very knowledgable about their menu items. Great variety. Went two days in a row it was so good.

All I can say is wow! As soon as we sat down, the server asked if we had any allergies. I told her I had Celiac and she told me what was gluten free and assured me that my food would be made separately. I had the cinnamon danish pancakes with turkey sausage and everything was delicious. The portion of pancakes was incredibly large too! I will definitely be coming back here more often, it's not too crowded on weekday mornings.

Very knowledgeable staff! First thing we were asked was if any of us had any food allergies. Then the manager came out to tell me that since hash browns are cooked in the same area as others, grits would be a great 100% GF alternative if I were highly sensitive. Grits were delish!!! Next time I go, I will have to try their pancakes. But what a treat to be able to have GF breakfast out!

Pancakes were excellent. Be sure to alot extra time because there can be a long wait.
The gluten free pancakes are amazing and the staff is very knowledgable and helpful. Out served asked us when we first sat down about any allergies and the manager came to also inform us the bacon would be cooked in a separate pan to avoid cross contamination. Best gf service I've ever had!!

Great food. Informed staff, and well-trained regarding food sensitivities. Huge portions. Delicious!
Just ate here and had an amazing time. Great gluten free bread on sandwiches and the gluten free pancakes were amazing.

Love Miss Shirley’s! Always ask about gluten free items and let them know it is an allergy (celiac). Almost always have a manager come out and speak with me as well to ensure the safety and protocols.

Fantastic options for gluten-free meals. My kids (8 and 12) who both have celiac said it was the best meal they’ve had since being diagnosed. The manager came and spoke to us about the safety precautions they have in place and assured us that everything would be prepared in a separate area and cooked on clean pans. So good we came back twice on our visit to Baltimore!
