They’ve mastered gluten free cupcakes. The soft pretzel left lots to be desired. The bagel was good, but I prefer Modern Bread & Bagel co in NYC for a better bagel. The pretzel and bagel were dry and really hard which is why I didn’t enjoy them. The cupcakes, eclair and salted caramel cookies were amazing. The eclair was BETTER than one I had in Paris.

Made a dedicated visit to this spot while visiting for work. I ordered the breakfast sandwich on a biscuit, as recommended by the cashier. I also ordered a strawberry pop tart, chocolate eclair, and a cinnamon roll. (Stocking up on baked goods to travel anyone?!) EVERYTHING was delicious. The biscuit was buttery, unbelievably great consistency, and not too dry. The strawberry poptart was so pleasant to have as a childhood throwback. It had a great pastry to jam ratio with generous frosting. The eclair was generous in size and filling with such a rich chocolatey flavor. The cinnamon roll wasn’t overly sweet and the dough was a lovely texture. 10/10 I enjoyed everything and will be returning when I can. I did not get sick. Bonus points for truly feeling joy from savoring everything I ordered.

Rise is a fully dedicated gluten free bakery. I ordered almond croissants (delicious), biscuits (excellent), challah (ok -haven't had a good one from anywhere), chocolate croissants (very good), and the mixed berry scone (also very good). We were not as thrilled with the pecan pie (not enough filling, too many nuts) and the pumpkin pie (just plain tasting). My newly gluten free grandchildren and son in law were quite pleased to try these treats for Thanksgiving. Looking forward to trying other items in the future.

I got diagnosed with celiac last week. It’s been difficult because I have a very bread heavy diet and I LOVE baking. Today I bought the bagels, brioche bread, and a cookies and cream cupcake. A gluten free paradise. There’s no indoor seating only one bench but the food is what makes it worth it. I wanted to order everything on the menu. I got a half dozen bagels to take home with me. This is what gf dreams are made of.

The brioche buns are my favorite. Rich, buttery, light, great taste and texture. I keep some on-hand in the freezer for burgers or to serve as giant rolls with dinner. Ginger Molasses(?) cookies are also good. I’ve tried almost everything they offer. Really can’t go wrong here.

I was on a work trip to DC and Rise wasn’t too far from the hotel. My first visit there I got two sandwiches—one hot and one cold (for later) and the carrot cake cupcake. The sandwiches were delicious!!! The cupcake, not my favorite—I ended up throwing half of it out. A couple days later I ordered the veggie pizza and it might be the best gluten free pizza I’ve ever had. I didn’t get sick at all and highly recommend.

The $13 bacon egg cheese biscuit was awful. It was extremely dry. I took one bite and couldn’t get it swallowed. I had to wash it down with water and threw away $13. The brownie was fire but not worth the price unless you don’t have means to make them yourself.

I have been a customer at Rise for several years. I was so happy when I found them because I could have brownies and eclairs and bisquits again if I wanted to. They are completely gluten free so rest assured no cross contamination. The customer service has been great . Only once was my ordered mixed up over the years of going there.

Croissants and warm biscuit with butter were AMAZING! Make sure to ask for both warm, the biscuit is kinda dry when it’s cold. We also got sandwiches that were only meh, not very flavorful and kinda dry. Overall good experience! Wish I could have tried more baked goods.

You CANNOT leave DC without stopping here for a few baked goods! And be prepared to leave with a bag full of goodies! It’s a 15 minute walk from the National Zoo through the cutest town called Adams Morgan. The bakery is dedicated gluten free and caters to many other allergens (egg, dairy, soy, and nut allergies are labeled online) and there are many vegan options. Do yourself a favor and get at least one biscuit and croissant! All of the other treats I’ve tried so far were also very delicious! My gluten eating family loved everything too, especially the bag of 6 very large, chewy chocolate chip cookies ($10). They also have cupcakes, cheesecake, pies, dinner rolls, buns, bagels, scones, and much more! Amazing!

Very pleasant employees on both my visits. Ham and cheese croissant was highly recommended and did not disappoint. I went back for more of these. The cinnamon roll was very tasty. The tiramisu was ok- maybe it wasn’t mascarpone as it may have been vegan- I didn’t look that closely. The carrot cake cupcake was very dense and dry but frosting was good. Maybe it was also vegan. The texture reminded me of muffins made with coconut oil rather than dairy. I will definitely go back when I am in the area.
