I just went today as my first restaurant after being diagnosed recently. I was so impressed. I usually get brisket, sausage, and the new potatoes, and I didn’t have to change my order at all. The sauce is safe too.

When I ordered, I asked the guy to make sure the bread (for my kids) wasn’t touching anything else. He very nicely put it in a separate bag and sealed it so it couldn’t possibly touch my food. Apparently his mom is celiac too.

Visiting Austin from Utah and ate here. The workers were knowledgeable and they had an allergen list. I ordered the turkey, brisket and cole slaw. It was delish and I didn't get sick and I am sensitive celiac. Will definitely back.

10/2018. Ordered turkey and individual order of potato salad to go. I have fairly new celiac diagnosis so asked them to clean knife before cutting turkey. They gladly took cutting board in back and cleaned it and knife and other utensils before carving mine. Turkey and rub is GF but I am being extra careful. I didn’t try Rudy’s sauce this time but will on later visit (they warn some are sensitive to vinegar in it). Thanks Rudy’s for offering GF items and your great staff training. Didn’t have any problems and added GF bread and Sweet Baby Rays GF honey BBQ sauce at home. Nice to have another safe option!

Update 10/2019 - have eaten here tons of times in past year and had no issues. Also did fine with their lean brisket and sauce and pickles and onions. Advise that you take own gf bread if you want it.

Loved the food and style of the place, as I was a rookie the server had me try all the meats which are all gf and then select. I had brisket moist with sides of potato salad & coleslaw. So cheap too

No reaction from this Celiac! Their bbq sauce is gf and really good! Had the chicken and again, no issues. (I’m fairly sensitive.)

Very good BBQ. All meats and rubs they use are certified GF. Coleslaw and potato salad also GF. If you're new they give you a sample of their turkey, lean brisket, and what they call their wet brisket (more fatty). Lean brisket and turkey were great. No sample on other meats because they are not sliced items. They offer wheat sliced bread only, so be prepared to eat the meats without bread.Sauce is a little too sweet for me and there is only one variety. Friendly service.

Unfortunately I also have allergies to spy and cow's milk. The online ingredient list did not reveal that soy is in the dry rub used on all meats. A long drive for no meal. I did not go further than the front cashiers stand so I do not know about potential cross contamination or any other issues.

Yum! I also immediately received an allergens card for ordering. They took care to keep my order separate from those I was eating with who got bread.

Great barbecue. Wished they had a nutrition list.

Great BBQ, super fast as long as there isn't a huge line. LOVE their new potatoes....how could they not taste amazing when they are drowning in butter?!?

Great BBQ - even though, or maybe especially because it is attached to a gas station. I went in thinking I wouldn't be able to eat much and when I asked the guy at the counter what my options were, not only was he very patient and helpful, but he was extremely knowledgeable. He even gave me a card that they have at the ordering counter that has a list of items and allergens on one side and a complete explanation about gluten in their food on the other side.

Wasn’t terribly hungry so just requested two slices of the turkey breast and a small container of their coleslaw, both were indicated as gluten free. I did not feel good the next day, mild symptoms of being glutened. I believe there was some cross-contamination.

A bizarrely safe place to eat. The only barbecue I have ever enjoyed. Never been sick

Rudy’s now has gluten free buns for their bbq sandwiches! They are very good and don’t fall apart which is a plus. All of their bbq sauces are also certified gf
