went with the family for the first time. both wife and son are diagnosed Celiac's. knowledgeable staff about cross conatmination. food was wonderful and not to expensive.
Great gluten free options. Employee knowledgeable about GF and that using the same oil as nonGF can cross contaminate. The food was also very tasty and we did NOT get sick which sometimes happens even if they say it's GF.
The food was good. However, on more than one occasion I received macaroni mixed in with the "gf beans". Cross contamination is a major issue at this location.
love this place best fast bbq around and super safe for celiacs
Food was not good - ribs were dry and cold. Fries were gross, and so was the salad. Half way through my meal I also got to hear one employee say on the phone that the other employee couldn't pick up her phone because she went to throw up. Mind you, this employee was on the clock at the time, and was the one who took my order and was still working during and after I overheard the phone conversation. I obviously quit eating and will never return.
Manager and staff very nice - he told us all about their gluten precautions in the kitchen and the food was very good. Pork, baked beans, cole slaw and original sauce were great! Nothing bothered me either! Highly recommended! Also, their sauces are not only gluten free but celiac approved. Yay!
Gluten free menu is very clear and has most of the expected BBQ staples. Plates come with regular toast, so be sure to mention that to your wait staff. Great service in general and food was great! Service was a little slower due to the allergy restriction, but nothing to stop us from coming back again and again.
1st time at a Shane's. Casual atmosphere, order then seat urself fare. The cashier wasn't knowledgable so I asked for the manager who was. Pulled pork w honey BBQ sauce was incredible. Portions cd b bigger. Overall, a good exp wo any ill effects. NOTE: u must request NO TOAST when ordering.
We went here last week because they offer gluten free. The cashier/waitress assured me that they take gf seriously, but the new cook didn't have a clue. I should have walked out when she went to the back to show him how to prepare my meal. I started feeling I'll while I was eating and immediately pushed the plate away. Three days of pain, I won't go back.
Always great service & food for the most part. There was only one visit when I specifically asked the girl when ordering to make sure there was no bread on mine and she brought out my food with a big ole slice of Texas toast right on top of my food. Other than that, never had any other problems.
I would have rather given them a 1.5 star rating but I couldn't. I went with my family (I'm the gluten free one) and I got the half rack baby back ribs with green beans. The ribs were good, but the green beans were gross. They were cold and sitting in a puddle of green bean juice (eww). The girl behind the counter was dressed inappropriately (see throughish leggings), and her small Daughter was running around the restaurant. The girl had headphones in and did not greet us when we walked up to the counter, I don't think I'll be back anytime soon
I had carry out from here. I tried to ask about getting a barbecue stuffed baked potato because they made one gluten free for me at a different Shane's, but it was not on the gluten free menu & they did not offer to do it. So I just got the barbecue plate. I really liked it. Not a ton of options, but decent. We drove 5 minutes off the interstate for this gluten free meal while traveling. I think it was worth it - I did feel safe about what I was eating. Would recommend!
