I went with a group who all raved about the food including birria tacos and quesadillas. At first they said tacos were gluten-free, but after asking more questions they shared that use a seasoning in their meat and rice that is not gluten free (chicken powder). Sadly this meant I wasn't able to order much on the menu. But the staff was helpful and I ended up with a delicious and generous portion of shrimp ceviche with tortilla chips (made in separate chips only fryer). Seems like maybe they changed their recipes since the last reviews. Oh how I miss a good taco!
— Not very
— No gluten-free information on the menu
— Not Much/None
— Excellent
Food is truly delicious, but depending on who is working the register, you will likely have to make your own determinations about ingredients. There is minimal GF in use in the kitchen, but not none.
Note: the empanada is def not GF despite looking like it is made with their (entirely GF) corn torts. My kid wanted to try it and one staff person had told us it was just tortillas fried together. On later repeat visits, other staff have been consistently adamant that they use some regular flour to help stick things together.
I've been eating here for going on two years with no issues.
a little unclear on whats safe or not but I settled on tacos w corn tortillas and didn't get sick. Very good food, a little pricey for what it is
Possibly the best authentic Mexican food in Durham. Most all of it is gluten free. Best corn tortillas made to order.
