Both the hostess and servers have been very knowledgable about GF precautions every time I've gone, 3 times now. Food is excellent and all GF items were marked with a stick. My son and I are both GF (celiac and sensitivity) and we ordered pancakes, eggs benedict, potatoes and ate the cake they gave us at the door. Also very kid friendly, with a lot of options and clear menu.

My meal was great, with a big BUT. They give every diner a slice of cake on arrival. They asked if regular was okay, I said I needed gf, and a separate slice was brought from another area. We were seated and the slices were set at our places - one a square shape and one a diamond. I commented how smart that was, to help identify them. Luckily I got absorbed in the menu and didn’t eat mine right away, because our server then came out, looked at my daughter, and said, oh, you're gluten-free? The host had mixed up the cakes and given us the wrong ones. My chilaquiles were good and service was excellent, but I got a little freaked out by the close call!

I identified myself as having celiac disease. The server brought me a piece of “gluten-free” cake and brought my husband a piece of regular cake. I asked if they used dedicated bakeware or if any part of the kitchen is dedicated and I was assured that they take every precaution. Unfortunately, cross contamination appears to be an issue, I got sick from the cake. It’s a lovely place though and, if I went there again, I would simply order a cold salad.

It pains me to say this, but don't go here if you have celiac. They have a huge amount of gf options in the menu, but they'll tell you right away that pretty much every gf item on the menu has the possibility of being cross-contaminated. Everything except the eggs/omelets are cooked in the same shared griddle, and there's no separate toaster for gf bread. This may be fine for those with a sensitivity, but since I have celiac, I didn't want to risk it.
I *will* say that the omelets are indeed cooked in separate pans, and after having eaten their Denver omelet I don't feel sick 8 hours later, but there are a lot better, safer gf places to brunch.

I’ve eaten here many times, love it. Have never gotten sick. I always mention I have celiac. The food is AMAZING

I figured with such a big gf menu they’d avoid cross contamination, but I was sorely mistaken. It might be server dependent but I mentioned my celiac to the server and I wasn’t warned of cross contact and I am now very sick. Probably good for gluten sensitivity, but celiacs should not eat here!

Told them I had celiac but I had to specifically ask about cross contamination before I learned that they have a shared fryer, shared toaster, and shared grill. Only items that are made in a separate pan are safe, which was only about 25% of the items on they gluten free menu.

Not sure if they are celiac friendly but for those with gluten sensitivity this place is amazing. Full gluten free menu and even gives you a slice of gluten free cake when you come in

First thing they asked when I walked in was, do you have any gluten free or vegan in your party? They had a huge gluten free menu. I had eggs Benedict. I haven’t had eggs Benedict at a restaurant in years! It was delicious, and I didn’t get sick! Staff was so so nice! We’ll definitely be going back!

Right away, I was asked if I had any dietary restrictions. I didn’t even need to bring it up myself.
Huge portions and everyone is given a complimentary spice cake upon sitting down! Gluten free version was very good.
Staff is extremely nice.

Fabulous service and an epic gluten-free brunch menu with english miffins, toast, pancakes, waffles, and corned beef hash. The portuons are huge!!
I have eaten here SO many times, and I’ve never gotten sick (and I’m very sensitive). They are so kind and friendly & there’s a giant GF menu! They take the self-consciousness out of ordering. The food normally comes out with tiny GF toothpick markers. I’ve loved everything I’ve tried so far. It’s one of my favorite places to take friends and family to (they have tons of vegetarian and vegan options as well)!
So excited to have found this place. Large GF menu, had a sweet GF cake on table which was delicious. Corned Beef Hash was excellent, with choice of fruit, tomatoes, or GF toast. Wait was 40 min on a Sunday but worth it, bar attached had free coffee and large drink selection while you wait. Cash only restaurant

Incredible service, gf menu and pastries, knowledgeable and super helpful staff, most importantly amazing food
Separate gluten free menu and prep area. They have this down!!
Yes
Loved this place. Asked if anyone was GF when we arrived. Server very knowledgeable. Even got a sweet treat on the way in! Highly recommend!!
Yes
Server told us the owner has celiac and gluten-free food was made separately. Server was very knowledgeable and lots of options on the gluten-free menu!
Great service. Everything was reasonably priced and they treated my celiac very seriously. The back outdoor patio is nice. Highly recommend. We will be back here again soon.
Yes
AMAZING. Super busy, not the most friendly server but amazing food and quick service. Treated to a free little GF snack upon arrival (a blondie sort of?). HUGE gluten free menu and soooo good. Best eggs Benedict in a long time!
Yes
They asked upon checking in about any special needs. I also appreciate when a restaurant has a separate menu, if nothing else to give a visual cue without making a fuss. They start you off with sweet bread, including a GF one cut into a different shape than the regular. I really enjoyed my California Benedict with added chicken sausage.
Amazing selection of GF options- a whole separate menu! Bagels, pancakes, waffles, quiche, etc. staff was very careful with my food and they were knowledgeable. I’d go here again!
Yes
Tweet is a happy place for celiacs. They start you off with a small serving of coffee cake, gratis, and they have GF coffee cake, cut in a different shape, so there’s no guessing. They have the largest GF menu in town, and GREAT GF pancakes. A creature of habit, I tend to order the corned beef hash (YUM!) and a side of one pancake (because I can!). Never gotten sick eating at Tweet, and always feel so welcome here.
Yes
Great food. Lots of GF options. Unfortunately the kitchen is not celiac friendly.
No
Had the gluten free California eggs Benedict, amazing! Huge gluten free menu, waffles, bread, cakes when you walk in, I'll be back next time I'm in Chicago!
Yes
Tiny kitchen. The only items they could assure me would not be cross contaminated were oatmeal and bread or bagel, untoasted.
Crowded, very noisy, no comfortable place to wait to be seated.
Menu was probably fine for someone without celiac or high sensitivity to gluten.
No
I went here today and LOVED it. Had the gluten free quiche. It was delicious and the gluten free cake they brought out was also amazing. Best part - no surprise tummy aches later. I'll be going back tomorrow!
I have been eating here for several years. They are may favorite gluten free brunch place. I usually get the eggs benedict. Their pancakes and quiche are also really good. Great service!
We were asked at the door if anyone was gf and I was given a little gf cake while my friends got regular. So many options!!
Yes
So much food and super delicious. I love getting their waffle because GF waffles are so hard to come by.
Let me start off by saying that this place is NOT celiac friendly: there is NO dedicated grill, toaster, etc. Our server said that an egg dish was least likely to be cross contaminated since only eggs go on those pans. The staff is very knowledgable about gluten so I was happy about that. The bartender said he could not call the bloody Mary's gluten free bc they use some outside ingredients. However he showed me the bottle -- it is Campbell's tomato juice. This is technically not labeled GF but I think it's as gf as any other commercial product. I got one and it was yummy! I did eat the free pierce of "gf" Cake they give you at brunch before I knew about the surface issue. Too soon to tell about glutening. Good brunch but celiacs eat at your own risk!
No
As soon as you are taken back to your table they ask if anyone is gluten free. The food is phenomenal as is the environment. I'm not hyper sensitive like some so I'm not sure about CC but it's def one of my favorites in the city!
Tweet is amazing! I have had brunch here on multiple occasions and have never gotten sick. They have a huge GF menu! My favorite is the eggs benedict. The place is always packed on the weekends though, so be ready to wait for this delicious food.

We LOVELOVELOVE Michelle and Tweets! Delicious GF menu and the ONLY place my daughter will eat breakfast. Must Go!
love this place :-) kid friendly too !

Tried& would recommend: GF Chilaquiles; GF Waffles- I prefer my waffles super crispy. These were a little mealy, but I would try them again & request them "well done"
The minute you walk in they ask if anyone in your group would like to see a gluten free menu. We were offered gluten free bread to snack on and my daughter was offered a bowl of sliced bananas. I had banana pancakes that were delicious. I almost forgot they were gluten free. I will definitely go there again. However, this place is cash only but there is an ATM nearby.
Yes
Gluten-free menu & everything tastes great. None of that sawdust hockey puck junk.
Don't expect to get seated mid day on a weekend. It is a zoo! Everyone wants to eat there. Because they can accommodate almost every diet.
Yes
Terrible. All cross contaminated. Shared surfaces and they won't clean anything off for you. Celiacs do NOT eat here.
No
Good gluten free menu with lots of choices. Delicious brunch!
Horrible. The manager was extremely rude and told me she didn't have time to Check on allergy information. All food is cooked on same surfaces and they refused to be careful w any item I ordered.
No
This place is great! I had the gluten free Sante Fe breakfast. The black bean patties were very tasty, and the portion size was huge! Tweet also has decent coffee, free wifi, and take out The only downside I suppose would be that the establishment is cash only.
A 36+ item Gluten-Free menu had me excited. But a lengthy discussion with cook revealed that there is one grill and everything is cooked on it. So Waffles, eggs, and pancakes are cooked on the same surface as non-GF food items. Toaster is dedicated GF. Order at own risk!!!
No
We went here for breakfast. Great place, great food, wonderful (Rex) service! I had an omelet and a pumpkin pancake. So good!
Yes
A great experience from the beginning to the end. The food was great and the service was excellent (very knowledgeable)! So many options, I had the amazing pumpkin pancakes with a side of has browns. Delicious! Will be going again absolutely!
Yes
The best gluten free food I have ever eaten. The brunch and the late night bar have SO many options for those with Celiac Disease. This place is my heaven! (P.S. you have to try the gf pumpkin pancakes)
