Managed to handle my celiac incredibly well! Staff was very knowledgeable and careful, and they had a large gluten free menu! They were also able to independently accommodate my girlfriend’s dairy and peanut allergies.
They even had a manager stop by to make sure our allergies were well accommodated.

We requested the gluten free menu and had the GF BBQ Chicken pizza and then the chicken sandwich with the GF bun. The bun was delicious and arrived still in the package.

Went in expecting more from this place, appetizer wise I only had one item to choose from. I asked if any of the soups were gluten free, had to flag her down about 10 mins into waiting to ask her again and her response was to say no soups are gluten free. After staring at the menu for another 10 mins and not finding anything worth trying I gave up, asked for the check for the one appetizer my fiancé ordered and we left. Waitress was not very helpful either.
I eat here at least 3 or 4 times a month. Great food, great service. Good size gluten free menu. I have to worry about soy as well. Not all the staff is familiar. But just ask and they will find out. I’ve never once gotten sick. They have the best gluten free bun. They steam or microwave it in its plastic pouch and it’s un toasted and stays in one piece the whole time eating. Ask for Linton, my favorite server.
found a noodle under the green beans. supposedly it was "specially" prepared to be GF and DF.

Had lunch here on our first visit to Winston-Salem – amazing food, GF menu with lots of great choices, and flexible “from scratch” kitchen. Server was very knowledgeable about GF needs and took great care of us. “Certified GF Safe Spot.” Indoor and outdoor seating – we really enjoyed our outdoor table. Can’t wait to come back here on our next visit!

Village tavern is great 👍 The server was a little short about questions and clarifications, but was just very informative and willing to answer any questions. There is a pretty thorugh gluten free menu! I would double check to make sure everything is on the up and up once you get your food, but they have very good customer service and will get a manager to answer any questions the server might not be able to answer :)

My husband said his grilled chicken spinach salad with honey mustard was the best salad he has ever had. The tavern salad was also excellent, as were the pizzas. They were thin crust and delicious. The teens liked their entrees.

I’ve eaten here multiple times with no issue as I’ve gotten to know the staff well. They understand my needs to eat safely. There are a few GF items in the menu. I normally get the shrimp and grits or the GF pizza. The pizza is cooked in a separate tin from the other pizzas and tastes great!

My wife and I had dinner there last night. I am celiac, my wife is not. I had the shrimp and grits with a Tavern salad. My wife enjoyed the filet mignon with a Caesar salad. Both our meals and the service were excellent. I let the server know that I was celiac and he encouraged me not to worry. I had no problems with the dinner. Village Tavern has a very good wine list with several selections that are very reasonably priced. They sell many by the glass. The main menu had “gf” beside items that could be prepared gluten free. There were many selections. Highly recommended.
