Great food and service.
I love this place! I haven't had a hot Pastrami in years!! This place is amazing and I love that they have a separate knife kit for when they serve GF food! it is also refreshing to have a sticker that shows the person who prepared my food knows about my allergy!!
As Delis go, this one is fast, friendly & understands Gluten Free. My sandwich was delicious & the Gluten Free bread made my tummy VERY happy. The soft serve ice cream is gluten free, but not the cone. Organic choices & free drink refills make this one of my go-to places to eat.
I wrote 2 letters to them telling them to get the proper training from the gluten intolerance group so they can serve celiacs. They just don't get it. I wouldn't eat there if you are celiac and I would write them a letter telling them how offensive it is to celiacs that they will have a gluten free menu but refuse to get the proper training so they can serve celiacs. Ridiculous! I can't stand ignorance!
This 1 star is actually a zero but i had to put some number in. Cross Contamination from here was just stupidity! Sandwich 1- they didn't get the lettuce, tomatoes from a clean spot. Okay so remake! Sandwich 2- is delivered, I've ate 2 or 3 bites when the manager comes to talk to me to apologize for sandwich number 1. As we are talking I mention that all condiments usually come out of uncontaminated dishes, even the mayo comes out of packets not the dish. He pauses, looks at me funny then continues. So I ask "it did come out of packets right?" Nope- fresh condiments but ummm duh, lets get the mayo out of a dish that's been spreading sandwiches from regular bread all day! Oh yeah, blisters before we make it to the door! I took all my allergy stuff... They ain't lieing when they say each cross contamination is worse than the one before it! Seriously inconsiderate, lazy, or ignorant people!!! Update- today is Wednesday and I am still extremely sick and taking allergy and stomach medicine like crazy, I wouldn't wish what I have on anyone. But anyone in food service should experience this just once!!!! Oh and to top it off the manager informs me that they don't have to "deal with anything like this" at the store he just come from in Wichita Ks- so folks there need to be careful too! Will not ever again eat here and strongly suggest anyone with allergies avoid this place too!
I ordered the nutty mixed salad. For taste it was a 10 out of 10. Unfortunately I ordered my salad with ranch and it came with another non-gluten free salad dressing. Not knowing that, I ended up eating some of it and was sick. I was just be extra careful in double checking your order to assure it really is gf.
It all looks good on the menu but all of the food is prepared on shared equipment and staff not knowledgable (at least when I was there) Not good for celiac at all. I didn't even eat.
Watched them make my sandwich; they're not very well trained on gluten free. I watched them touch my bread, then pick regular bread, and back to my bread. Food was awful, even the ice cream was messed up. Manager very rude.
I gave Jason's an extra star just for having GF bread and working to provide several options. My sister just LOVES the deli, but I'm not overly impressed with the quality of the offerings. It's okay, just not stellar. They do make up for that with a larger quantity of offerings. My stomach did get a little unhappy after eating here once, but no issues since then. I would not call it celiac friendly.
Great gf options.
This place has gotten much better. Everyone there knows what gluten free is and it's very obvious if you get a gluten free sandwich. I've had sandwiches and salads (not from the salad bar) and they were both delicious. Even though they can't promise 100% gluten free, I am satisfied with the precautions they take. I have never gotten sick here. The staff is so friendly. One time I completely forgot to order my sandwich on gluten free bread and they made me a whole new sandwich and refused to accept the dollar I was trying to give them for the gluten free bread/the hassle. Really friendly, really knowledgeable.
I was really pleased with my lunch. We ordered a sandwich (comes with chips), a salad, a baked potato, a soup and two drinks, thinking the portions would be small and it would be enough food for two people. The portions were bigger than expected so we ended up with enough for lunch AND dinner for just over $30. The food was good quality and tasted fresh. When we told them the order was gluten-free they already knew what was available and changed their gloves without being asked. The deli was clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. I would have given them five stars but the ice cream is McDonald's quality ice milk. Over all we were really happy with our food and will definitely be going back!
All seemed well until I asked about cross contamination. Then the manager was brought over and I was schooled about how cross contamination is a not a real concern and not to worry about it. When trying to explain that it is a concern for me she got upset but sarcastically said she world take care of it. She sure did, I was sick for 3 days.
I give this place credit for giving full disclosure that they cannot guarantee there will be no cross contamination. With that said I have always had a good experience at our Katy Jason's and never have come away glutened by cross-contamination. Lots of options to choose from and their gluten free bread is excellent. Even the soft serve ice cream is gluten free. Remember to ask for the gf menu as it is not in plain view.
They will convert any sandwich on their huge menu into gluten free by exchanging out the bread. So nice to have so much variety. Free ice cream for everyone for dessert means my whole family loves it.
My husband & son are intolerant. They have gluten-free bread, request it toasted because their sandwiches have a lot of meat!! Almost everything on the salad bar is safe, with the exception of pasta, crackers, & croutons. Friendly staff!! Try the ice cream in a little dish & the chocolate syrup is safe too. We love this place!! We eat there all the time & my guys have never gotten sick
awesome sandwich. understands cross contact. . Thanks Jason's Deli
very aware of cross contamination.
Everything is made in a common kitchen but they make an attempt to avoid cross contamination. I built my own sandwich and it was delicious! I also ordered the kids chicken nuggets and they were super yummy with honey mustard dressing. The gf sandwich bread tasted like "normal" bread. I loved it and would definitely go back if I lived close.
So many options for GF eating! make sure they know you need care taken. I wasn't sure if they had taken proper precautions. They offered to remake my sandwich for free! It was great to have that piece of mind! I love eating here! The food tastes great too!!!
The bread is amazing! Will be back to try more options.
Ordered takeout for 4. 3 orders were specified g-f on their user friendly website. No issues. Order was correct and ready before promised. We recommend ordering online because your comments actually print along with the check box for g-f. Less chance of an error in translation between customer, cashier, and kitchen.
