Since the last review in 2012 I think there is great improvement! The crust is tender and thin (typical in GF) with a nice crusty edge. The toppings fresh and top of the line. 4 GF Beers to choose from. The staff treats the GF orders with extra care. I enjoyed my meal with no issues.
The gluten-free pizza is always delicious. The staff takes good care of me.
delicious!! fast service and friendly staff 2 blocks from the aquarium... and they have omission beer so yummy!!!
Love this place! Awesome gf pizza :)
Really great pizza! Sadly, some toppings that you would think are gluten free (example: pineapple) are not gluten free. Also, the salads are okay, not fantastic. A little pricy, but not too bad. Staff is knowledgable and are always willing to help! Groovy place, love the art and atmosphere!
if you are a fad dieter this is sufficient. If you are an actual celiac YOU WILL HAVE A REACTION TO THIS. It isn't because of anything but the very nature of a pizza place. There is flour in the air, they are tossing crusts right next to where you sit and although they make great attempts on no cross contamination, you are breathing it in and it is settling on your pizza. If you have a high tolerance you ahould be fine but if you are sensitive, don't risk it. My stupidity made my birthday terrible and the next several days.
Great GF pizza & knowledgable staff
Great service, great food. This is one of the better Mellow Mushroom locations. They did bring me a salad with croutons but brought me a new one when I pointed it out.
Worst service at any Mellow Mushroom I've ever been to. I just wanted to order a salad, it took forever and wasn't half as good as the one I usually order at a different location and it was ridiculously expensive for a salad with chicken.
We had a really good experience here. The service was a little slow but it was pouring outside and very busy. The pizza was very good and my iced tea never ran low.
We ate their on the Fourth of July during a family trip. The atmosphere was not as nice as the location in Charlotte, NC. My pizza was good, but my step mom and my husband did not enjoy their calzone as much as my stepmom enjoyed the one she had in Charlotte. The food was good, but we won't be stopping at this location again.
This Johns Creek location has very good service and they take time to prepare the gluten-free pizzas correctly. The crust has improved greatly since the first offering by this chain (which was horrible), but it's certainly no Blue Moon. Even so, for a quick meal on a weeknight, this is the place to go for pizza and gluten-free beer.
Every time I come down here I go to Mellow Mushroom. The GF crust is one of the first I've had from a restaurant that doesn't taste like cardboard! Good stuff!
I have eaten the gluten free pizza multiple times and have never had a problem. The best gluten free pizza I've ever eaten.
They offer GF pizza, but barely put anything on the crust. Not worth the money!
I visited Mellow Mushroom in August and the pizza was HORRENDOUS -- dough was thick and tasteless, toppings were sparse. However, since then they have more than fixed whatever was wrong with the dough (pizzas are now thin crust and delicious!). My only issue is with the pricing and rigid sizing ($20 for a medium size pizza, which I can never eat all of), but to be honest buying a personal size frozen pizza from the grocery store costs about half that and is nowhere near as good. Also, they are celiac friendly and always very helpful! They will go out of their way to make sure you are happy with what you received!
Why Why Why did they change the crust. They used to have a great GF crust but now they have a GF vegan crust that is like the consistency of a graham cracker. The edges are far to hard to eat. Please go back to the soft bubbly crust. They get two stars cause the people/ place was great.
I was so excited about this place! Their menu stated clearly how careful they are to not cross-contaminate....the gf pizza was really good! BUT...10 min later I started my normal 60 min of torture. Ending up in the bathroom at the movie theatre for 45 min. I hate to say it, but I cannot recommend mellow mushroom as a GF restaurant, esp if you are celiac &/or react negatively to gluten
My husband is Gluten-free and this pizza was delicious. Toppings were yummy, crust was perfect, etc. We watched through the window at the bar area and didn't see any cross contamination, but we were distracted a bit, so can't be 100% sure. Hubby didn't have any upset tummy the next few hours/days, so we give it 5 stars! Also, our bill was only around $18 for the pizza with a few toppings and a soft drink, so not sure what the fuss is about the price. For a delicious gluten-free pizza we thought that was awesome!
GF pizza is good but very pricey. I've tried it twice now. Our server was able to tell us about the steps they take to prevent cross contamination with wheat. Unfortunately, the second time I had their GF pizza, there was a bit of cross contamination.
Went there with a friend, that I was visiting for the weekend, who eats gluten. I ordered gluten free cheese pizza and added pepperoni. It tasted pretty good; however, it was $15 for my 12inch pizza. I didn't mind paying the price but would've loved to have a personal size pizza instead. I only ate 2 pieces and then the rest ended up going home with me.
We've ordered g-f here probably a dozen times, including take out, with no problems. They have a separate prep area and seem to understand cross contamination concerns. About the same price as other pizza joints, but a much better experience and quality.
Very expensive for the pizza that you get. I was not a huge fan of the gluten free crust, although it was okay. Have had much better pizza at other establishments for much less. Staff was knowledgeable, but not overly friendly about answering questions and/or making recommendations.
