atmosphere, great food and didn't get sick! what more can you ask for? answer to a Celiac's prayer! wish we had this place at home!!!!
Amazing! My husband had the Steak Fritas and I had the market catch risotto. they were both very good. the menu had 20+ gluten free options. When we sat down we were asked if we had any allergies. I felt very safe eating here.
Totally wonderful! the GF menu is large and everything at our table was great. I had a view of the kitchen and saw a chef remove a plate that had just been put up for service. He called another chef over and the dish was reworked. I was impressed by that. All GF meals are served on square plates so not a problem identifying your order from a nonGF at your table. This is a GEM.
Everything here is gf or can be made gf. By far the best gf restaurant around.
I had a great experience at Burton's. The owner of the chain has celiac disease and one of the other executives has a shrimp allergy. They are well versed in cross-contact and will answer any of your questions, so you can decide if you feel comfortable eating there. The restaurant also has a dedicated fryer. The french fries were one of my favorite parts of the meal! At the table next to us, we overheard the ladies surprised to find out that their dessert (using GF flours and all) was gluten free. While there is gluten in the kitchen, they do prepare many menu items that would naturally have gluten without it, so there are many options for those with celiac disease. I would definitely dine here again. Full Review: http://gflife247.com/2014/11/28/burtons-grill/
The best in the world must have again !!!
Outstanding for gf and other allergies. They told me the founder was a Celiac and he developed the restaurant around allergies. Dedicated fryers, breading. Food was so good we made it a point to visit twice. Highly recommended.
Absolutely amazing! Right off the waitress asked our table about any food intolerances, and upon telling her my gluten intolerance she went and got a modified gluten-sfree menu that was very helpful with knowing what I could get (no guessing what was and was not gluten free, which was nice, especially since I'm somewhat new at this). Also, my dish was incredible with sophisticated but delicious flavors. Definitely recommend to anyone with a food intolerance that want truly remarkable food and a great experience!
Loved Burtons Grill. Visited with family on July 5th, food was awesome, wait staff very knowledgeable of gluten free and helping me choose my meal. Very surprised to learn two in our group ( who do not require gluten free) but their meals were gluten free so I could taste the meals. The two family members had no complaints with their meals. Great experience, would recommend to others and have via Facebook.
This Celiac approves!!! Fabulous GLUTEN FREE food handled properly. Large selection. Knowledgeable staff. I even got a gluten free roll before my meal. I cannot tell you the last time I had a roll in a restaurant!
Fantastic gluten free calamari. Nice selection of menu items.
By far, the best restaurant I have been to since going gluten free. This restaurant has a thorough understanding of gluten free foods and cross contamination. The establishment is nice and looks upscale, but we were wearing jeans and nice sweatshirts and were still treated very well. If you are gluten free this restaurant is a must! We will be back!
Great food they get Celiacs needs!
Fabulous food! Gluten free is not only cooked in a different area, but also served on different plates by management only. This is by far the most allergy- aware restaurant we have ever encountered.
I'll give then another try because the gluten free menu was impressive the one time we ate there, but they clearly don't want your business if you 1) don't have a reservation and 2) aren't dressed to impress the 17-year-olds at the hostess station. Promising, if you don't mind attitude. 6/25 service was much better. Impressive knowledge & accommodation for GF & other allergies. I do find them to be overpriced ($15 for a burger!?!) but the attitude isn't as pronounced. Totally safe and solid dining, but don't be misled by the name if you're expecting casual dining...the prices & attire indicate finer dining than the admittedly GF sensitive menu offers.
Have a huge gluten-free menu and dedicated gluten free area of the kitchen! Meals are also served on different shaped plates than gluteny meals.
Wow! Our family of 6 received amazing service and this is some of the best gf food we've ever had! Great variety and warm gf rolls to the table. So very good!
Best restaurant I've ever been to! I'm still dreaming of the delicious food I got here with my husband! We can never find GF restaurants when we're traveling--they were just amazing. They do different shaped plates for GF and non-GF, bring out separate bread (the GF garlic bread was fantastic!), and I had a chicken lemon cream rissotto with pesto dish that was out of this world! Next trip through CT we will DEFINITELY be coming back! :)
Wonderful place to eat gluten free. My daughter and I both have celiac. They ask you as soon as you walk in if you need a gluten free or vegetarian menu. Staff is very knowledgeable and gluten free menu has a lot of options, including gluten free hamburger buns. I had fish tacos, my daughter had the steak sandwich and fries, we split the chocolate torte for dessert. Everything was wonderful and no issues after the meal. We both really enjoyed it. My daughter said it's the best sandwich she's ever had. I wish we had one of these near where we live. I'd go there every week.
Amazing!! The service from the hostess to our server, Peter, was A+, the GF options many and the atmosphere very nice for either an intimate or family style dinner. The manager brought over the GF faccocia with herbed olive oil himself. I had the fried risotto balls, pan seared scallops with risotto, creamed corn and bacon ( what can I say, I like risotto) and a not too rich molten chocolate cake with strawberry frozen yogurt. Provisimo! Wish one was closer to us!
amazing start to finish! They inquire when you arrive if anyone needs a gluten free or veggie menu (so you don't have to ask). The waiter noted that I had a GF menu and made a note to tell the chef. The manager brought my roll and food out separately. it was delicious and I felt really confident about it.
Oh my goodness- this place is my favorite and the place I feel most comfortable with when I eat out. When you arrive, say that you need gluten free and the knowledgeable staff will immediately help you and even bring you GF bread to munch on. The GF menu options are extensive, they have their own fryerlator for GF, and they bring you the GF stuff on a separate shaped plate. There are even several amazing dessert options. An executive with the company has Celiac or is GF, so the waitstaff and chefs are all well trained in cross contamination. Cannot recommend this place enough!
Two thumbs up for amazing service and food that we can count on to be safe for our very sensitive Celiac daughter. She recently has been diagnosed with five additional food sensitivities and they bent over backwards to make a safe birthday meal for her! Very impressive allergy knowledge. We have been and will continue to be back again and again!
We went back for lunch and it was pretty good. We had hamburgers and French fries and the hamburger buns were locally made and delicious. We just wish they didn't char all of their meats. I would give them a 5 star rating if not for that. We definitely feel safe eating there, though, and will go back. .
Fantastic! The staff is well trained and they go out of their way to accommodate allergies. The even bring gf bread to your table and offer Tito's gf vodka as well. The food is always amazing and I'm pretty picky. If I'm going to pay to eat out it needs to be worth it and it never disappoints.
THE place in the Charleston area for delicious, safe GF fare. Best part is you won't feel like a weirdo for your special order. They specialize in allergen-friendly and the wait staff really knows their stuff. I've been here 4 times in as many months and plan to come back regularly!
AMAZING!! I can't tell you how happy I was to find this place on our vacation. The owner is celiac, they have a separate kitchen for allergies, they have a LAMINATED actual GF menu not a paper print off, and everyone knows about all sorts of allergies not just GF. I had restaurant french fries for the first time in a year and a half and loved every second. I only wish I didn't live four hours away. Definitely give this place a try!!!
Excellent place for those with celiac. Greeted by being asked if we needed a gf menu at the front. Then greeted by the waiter asking if anyone was gf and then fully explained how they make sure that plates, dishes are kept separate. Food options were absolutely awesome and did not just include menu items without the wheat products but actually were their own creations and everything we ate was top notch!! Every person on staff was super nice and clearly felt pride and enjoyment in the place they worked. This place is at the top of my list from now on!
I had a great first experience here! The food was delicious and made so I could eat it! Staff is way more than willing to accommodate to restrictions/allergies! They offer gluten free bread from a local bakery in MA. They do have both a gluten free and vegetarian menu. Atmosphere is pretty neat too. I highly recommend checking this place out!
WOW! Not only was the food amazing, but the server was so helpful in explaining the gluten free options. It's not in the listing but they also have a dedicated gluten free fryer. It was the first time in two years that I've had clam chowder and it was amazing!
I had a great experience at Burton's. Within moments of sitting down the manager was at our table. The owner of the chain has celiac disease and one of the other executives has a shrimp allergy. Therefore, custom eaters are a focus of the chain. They are well versed in cross-contact and will answer any of your questions, so you can decide if you feel comfortable eating there. Additionally, there is a gluten sensitive menu that you can ask for when you walk in. The restaurant also has a dedicated fryer. The french fries were one of my favorite parts of the meal! This place is INCREDIBLE!!! I have been here countless times and never have I been disappointed. I usually get the Maxx Burger because it is just so good. GF calamari appetizer is amazing, and the vanilla bean creme brûlée is unbelievable. Chocolate tort was delicious as well, coated with a thick ganache and drizzled with a raspberry or cherry syrup--I cannot remember which. I never worry about cross contamination; they all know their stuff very well! The GF food items come out on "square" plates (more like squares with rounded corners) to distinguish them as GF versus regular items which are served on circular plates. The menu is diverse and there are many options. As far as I can tell there isn't any up charge for items being GF, which is nice! I recommend signing up for the Burton's Loyalty card (free) and every 300 points ($300) you get $25 off. It helps a lot! The prices are higher than a place like Friendly's but to me it is well worth the price. I always feel like I'm getting a deal to eat such incredible food and have it be GF. Burton's is definitely my favorite restaurant, if you haven't checked it out yet hurry up and go!
This was one of my favorite go-to places, but they keep messing with the menu, which used to be awesome, but now, not so much. I understand about having seasonal specials, but they have pretty much changed the lunch menu to only burgers (unless they have updated yet again, since I have been there), whereas it used to have many other options. Granted they still have a HUGE GF menu, but every few months they change it, usually increasing the prices by $2+ per menu item. It has just gotten too expensive for the quantity/quality of food. I guess it would still be worth an occasional splurge meal, but the food doesn't warrant the price tag.
This restaurant has excellent service and a full GF menu, as well as GF beer and cider. The GF rolls are amazing. We had an amazing brunch this morning. If you call ahead a day or so, they will make a batch of gluten free pancakes just for you on Sunday morning.
