I can confirm that the only GF dish is the Spicy Chicken (which can be made non-spicy) - it comes with carrots and peapods and can get either white or brown rice. Of note: chicken is fried in soybean oil - you can ask them to stream it in chicken broth (which took a while to confirm that was GF) and you can ask them to serve the non-spicy chile vinegar sauce on the side (quite sugary in my opinion). An hour later I was still doing fine and it was delicious! The only bummer is that it did take a long time to order as I made it clear that my ordering GF was not a fad but a medical necessity. It did seem a bit of a sting that in my take out bag there was a fortune cookie (definitely not GF) - makes me wonder how educated the workers are about GF though I think the person who bagged my order didn't know I was GF.
The one entree available as GF is spicy chicken. Not bad, and is now on my list next to Chipotle for airport and fast on-the-go GF food!
I 've had Pei Wei at the Minneapolis airport and love it. I was very excited to see it was here. Unfortunately, they were closed at 8p. they were the only restaurant closed on the concourse. Very dissappointed. I did get a good GF meal at ChopHouse, but very pricey.
Horrible experience. Their menu clearly marked an item as GF. I ordered it and had a few bites. It didn't taste right, so I returned to the counter. I was scolded that I had to request the item GF, even though there was no indication a request was needed. The menu clearly stated GF, not a GF option. Took a lengthy time for a cash refund. Be careful out there.
Happy to find a pei Wei where I've successfully ordered before in other locations. Only one option (spicy chicken) but it hit the spot. Food court option but freshly made. Near gate e-11
Everyone seemed very skeptical of my request to make sure it was cooked in a clean pan. We'll see how I feel....
They only have two options, but when you are hungry at the airport it's better than anything. They cooked it in a clean wok and were understanding of my gluten allergy.
Small GF menu but always yummy and reliable. The GF spicy chicken is my usual go-to.
ALWAYS get glutened when I eat here. Okay...maybe 90% of the time. Even spoke with the mgr once who insisted my meal was GF even though I was already feeling sick.
The food was good. They have a small GF menu which I always appreciate. They lost two stars because they accidentally put tofu(bad soy) and it was breaded in my partner's food. It made her very sick. She is autoimmune and super sensitive. I can not go back there I you go be sure to double check the food before eating it. The servers and staff were very friends and helpful and they did remake my partner's food. It was wrong again but they were willing to try.
Good food and celiac safe. This location totally gets it! Also, you can order via app, and go in the side door for quick pick up!
Not a lot of options on the menu
This place is hit or miss. I've been here a lot and there's only been one instance where they gave me gluten sweet and sour chicken and I ate a bite then they quickly came back and replaced it with the correct gluten free sweet and sour chicken. They caught the mistake but not quick enough. I'd suggest not going during their busy times.
Daughter did not get sick after eating. They were kind and took care with her food.
Celiac. I have eaten here so many times over the past 5 years I've lost count. They have a gluten free menu card, you just have to ask for it at the register. I have never had a problem here. Even at the beginning when I asked them a million questions because I was concerned about cross contamination, they explained everything to me about how it's prepared and cooked. It's safe place to eat and they care!
Great experience here. Came in to order take out and specified gluten free. I ordered the spicy chicken with white rice. The menu was small, but included more than just salads and actually had full entrees that I might've ordered even if not gf. Once I sat down to wait I heard the chef yell for the gluten free pan and oil, which was very reassuring. About 7 minutes later she gave me my order and had a sticker saying it was gf. She also made sure to give me packets of gf soy sauce. The food was very good.
It would be 5 stars if there was more selection and if they offered kids choices. But what they have is AMAZING!
Only eaten here twice. First time was great...second time made us a little worried. My wife has celiac. She ordered the sweet and sour chick (w/ rice). They brought her a noodle dish (not GF) on accident. Honest mistake. Fixed it by bringing out the correct meal. That experience made us a little hesitant to come back. May try it again in the future, but not ready to roll the dice for now.
There is a gluten free menu, but it only includes 5 items. I had the sweet and sour chicken. So did my husband, but his wasn't gluten free. Nothing obviously different, not even the dish in which it was served. Taste wasn't bad, but only okay. I haven't been glutened in more than 2 years, but I was from this meal. If I had to guess, I'd say it was cross contamination because the symptoms weren't severe. But enough so I'm still suffering 24 hours later.
Had gf sweet and sour chicken. Gave me wrong one , should have known it was sooooo good . On the floor sick for 10 hours. Awful if I could have gotten up I would have gone to emergency.
I ordered 3 GF meals and 1 non-GF. One had a "gluten-free" sticker on it, which was reassuring, but the others were either missing or came off in the bag. I liked the sweet and sour chicken. The pulled chicken salad was pretty bland, and I didn't see the dressing that was supposed to come with it. The Vietnamese chicken rolls were decent.
I love this place. They have a separate gluten free menu and while it's not super extensive there are some great options. When dining in the restaurant they are always sure to offer me their gluten free soy sauce and are always friendly. Definitively recommend.
When this location first opened I was glistened. I ignored for 2 years and gave it one more shot. Happy to say I've eaten here dozens of times since without issue.
Disappointing!!! There were tortilla strips pieces in my GF Asian salad either cross-contamination of the salad or they picked them off after the salad was made.
Food is yummy and I've only had gluten issues here once (I came when they were slammed). However, after my visit a couple of days ago, I don't think I'll be coming back. I got severe food poisoning from the spicy chicken (initially, I thought they had given me a regular meal instead of gf) and have been sicker than a dog all weekend. Be careful friends
You have to ask for the gluten free menu. there were about six gluten free items--the cook changes gloves and uses a dedicated wok for the gluten free food. We had sweet and sour chicken with rice. edamame, and Vietnamese spring rolls. enjoyed it all. the drink machine is awesome. tons of flavors.
Placed a take out order and they gave me the breaded sweet and sour chicken. Did not notice until I got back to the office. Always check. :(
They did finally add items to their list as mentioned by other who have reviewed but I too have gotten my order wrong 2/3 times. While the sweet and sour shrimp wasn't bad, it seams rather lame that their options are still so limited. Much prefer driving down the road to Mama Fu's to have some variety and only have to confirm my order once like a regular person.
Staff was friendly. Very limited menu, which I do not mind, but I did have a slight reaction to the food. I think Pei Wei needs to sharpen up training or procedures to make their food celiac safe.
I've always had success eating here. Food is good and so far I have never had a problem!
