Everything is gluten free even the beer surprisingly. Everything is so delicious and allot of the workers can relate to having a Gluten allergy. So they know how it feels. This place is definitely my favorite place for a special dinner. I recommend this place.

Superb. Safe. Our celiac family has had almost everything on the menu. Such a breath of fresh air to have both great food and a celiac safe place! We’ve been there at least a dozen times since it opened. Go!

The food here is SO fabulous!! From the start, the complimentary plate of focaccia & french bread served with a whole head of roasted garlic & housemade whipped butter - not joking the best foccaccia I have ever had to the bruschetta flight to the 2 polenta entrées my friend & I shared, everything was truly exquisitely delicious! We had the bolognese & the house-made sausage & wild mushroom polenta dishes. Yum yum yum and everything 100% gluten-free, made in a certified gluten-free kitchen.

Absolutely incredible totally GF Italian food; great service. It’s a very very small place, so you need a reservation, and there may be a short wait. It also is not cheap/no takeout. However, it’s 1000% worth it. I hope they do well enough to expand 🤞🏻

Truly one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to - even pre-celiac diagnosis! It is a very small, but charming little spot just around the back of the building. The owner is Celiac and it is 100% dedicated gluten free.

The thing that is so astonishing is that the menu reads and tastes like an epic Italian restaurant somewhere in Europe - at no point do you feel like you are compromising by being gf! The dishes were so delicious that I was nearly in tears (being able to eat fried risotto balls? pasta bolognese? Fresh bread with pesto?!) Absolutely unbelievable.

We are local-ish and have now been a handful of times, the gluten eaters I have taken there were also blown away. Can’t recommend enough.

A very quaint nine table restaurant that’s a hidden gem, especially if you’re gluten free and/or a celiac. Absolutely delicious food that you won’t want to miss if you’re in the area. Staff is lovely. The entire menu is gluten free and the food is spectacular.

Amazing, adorable little restaurant!! They were very clear that the whole kitchen is gluten free, and I’m sensitive and have had no reaction since so I feel confident in this. We went on a slow night but it’s very cozy - make sure to book a reservation!

The wait staff were so friendly and lovely, and the food was soooooo good. It was so good I genuinely teared up - I’m newly diagnosed so being able to eat literally everything (and to STEAL from others’ dishes!!!!) and have it all taste SO amazing got me emotional. Bread was phenomenal, bruschetta with pesto too. Mushroom & sausage polenta blew my mind. Lemon ricotta cake cannot be missed!!!

For a fancy gluten free night out in the South Bay this is now THE destination for me. I will be returning, hoping they stay in business for many many years!!!

Amazing. Period.

Started with the focaccia and peasant bread. They did something wonderful with the butter—so fresh!

The beet and ricotta salad was incredible. Loved the play of flavors.

Had the venison polenta, also incredible.

Rounded out with the lemon ricotta cheese cake.

Best brunch spot on the planet. All gluten free and so delicious. We had the Italian waffle, Lemon ricotta pancakes, and crab cake Benedict. ALL gluten free. Fantastic.

Truly one of the best meals and experiences I’ve ever had, celiac or not.

Reservations are a must. It’s a tiny, adorable place with just a handful of tables and real candlesticks on the table. I felt like I was in Europe.

The Caesar salad was the best I’ve ever had. The BREAD they bring you is to die for and the pesto that came with it was so great.

We got the alfredo polenta and the pork chop that was on special. I hadn’t had a pork chop in years and it was the best thing we had, it was perfect. I’d probably get something else than just the alfredo polenta next time, it was really really good just a small portion and needed something else to make it feel substantial.

We got the lemon ricotta cake for dessert (it was on special that night and not on the menu so definitely ask). It was basically a lemon ricotta cheesecake with this super thick graham cracker crust that’s probably in the top three desserts I’ve ever eaten.

Sadly did not meet expectations. Growing up in the NY area, I went to a lot of great midrange Italian spots, and this is basically an effort at creating a gluten-free version. Nothing groundbreaking but twice the price. Unfortunately some of the dishes were not great—the sole smelled very fishy, and the next day I was pretty ill, making me think it wasn’t fresh. The best thing was the tiramisu, just cause I haven’t been able to have tiramisu in years! The place has weird reservation rules, and they actually unilaterally changed our reservation time to accommodate another party and sent several reminders that we were limited to 1.5 hours. Was so hoping this would be the GF Italian of my dreams, but alas, keep searching.

This Gluten-free restaurant is a quaint little gem. We had the Salmon Benedict, Sauage scramble and the star of the brunch Lemon Ricotta pancakes. They also have an array of baked goods also. Definitely worth a visit.

My husband was recently diagnosed with celiac disease, and I’m trying to keep life as normal for both of us as we navigate the necessary changes in his diet and our lifestyle. I had read a terrific review of Polenteria in the SF Chronicle, so it came to mind as a place to try. So glad we did! The staff could not have been kinder or more welcoming. And the food—not just good, but lovely, made with obvious care and intention. The entire menu is gluten free, but you would never know if you didn’t already. Even the bread was excellent.

Omg! A place so safe that we can only talk food quality! The aroncini (sp?? Fried balls of polenta with cheese inside, swimming in lemony garlic sauce) were do good that my non GF partner and child were fighting over the last one! Amazing crab cake for brunch. Cannot wait to go back, it was that good! Shockingly, not everyone there was a celiac - others were there because they liked the food!!

We decided on takeout tonight and it’s all delicious.

* The gluten-free focaccia comes with melted garlic butter and a roasted head of garlic. * The caprese salad blew me away — slow-roasted tomatoes and burrata are incredible together. * I had polenta with bolognese, my sweetie had it with meatballs. They were both tasty and a bit on the spicy side. It’s not the super-slow bolognese with multiple reductions, but you’d be hard-pressed to tell.

We came back for a sit-down brunch and it was quite nice. It’s a great GF option.

One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had as someone with celiac disease. This small restaurant is a treasure! The friendly and kind owners are dedicated to making gluten free cuisine at a Michelin star level! Their bread is the best gf bread I have ever tasted (12 years since diagnosed celiac)! The polenta was fabulous! My husband, who is not gf, enjoyed every bite of his food. We will go back very soon!

Amazing! I can’t say enough wonderful things about this resto and Chef Yvonne. The texture of the bread brought me to tears. Don’t skip the meatballs with Calabrian Chile sauce. You could put that sauce on a birkin stock and I would eat it! We also had the bruschetta flight and each one was better than the next. My husband had the Cioppino special chock full of lobster, mussels, crab, and clams in a sumptuous fennel-tomato broth. The lemon ricotta (cheese) cake is life changing. Chef Yvonne worked the small dining room all night, bussing, running food; it truly felt like you were dining in her home. Overall 5 stars and the peace of mind dining at a dedicated restaurant is priceless.

Great restaurant! Though their specialty is polenta, all of their savory foods are absolutely delicious — venison ragù, breaded pork chop, cheese board, arancini and even GF focaccia. The staff are very attentive and helpful too. The only disappointing part was the dessert, the tiramisù was very stiff.

A small, reservation-only, full service Italian restaurant with full bar focusing on polenta dishes.

Everything was delicious and authentic-tasting. Cocktails were lovely as well. They make their own lemoncello!

The service was exceptionally good. My husband noted on reservation that it was my birthday and they had small birthday hat and hand written card at the table waiting for me. Very thoughtful!

The owner/chef was super friendly and spoke to each table and answered questions and gave suggestions.

We'll definitely go back!

Heartily recommend this location. It’s tucked away, so give yourself some time to find it. :-) The atmosphere is cozy and the food is absolutely DELICIOUS. So lovely to have a fully GF menu. Please support this new business! You definitely need a reservation.

Edited to add that we tried their new brunch menu and it’s just as good as dinner! It was not busy at all for brunch, so that may be a better option if you need to walk in.

A cozy, quaint little restaurant with a ton of fine-dining offerings. Excellent date night location. Intimate, romantic. MUST make reservations, and expect a wait for a table (the place is tiny). Worth every second of the short delay we had for our reservations.

Dedicated GF restaurant with phenomenal food options. The cost is pricey (the steak entree was $80), but for a once-in-a-while treat, SO worth it.

We had a wonderful birthday dinner at Polenteria. Our son (age 11) has celiac, and it was great to take the family out to a fancy restaurant. He and his brother both loved Polenteria. I had the polenta bolognese, my husband had the pork chop, and our non-celiac son had the sole. Our son with celiac is also a picky eater, but he loved the bread, chicken, his dad’s pork chop, arrancini (though the sauce was a little spicy for him), and tiramisu. The following morning he was still talking about how great the food was! The restaurant provided festive birthday hats for our family because we marked on the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday, and the service was wonderful. The restaurant and food would be great by any standard — but for a celiac family, it’s particularly special to have such a delightful meal.

I received my celiac diagnosis earlier this week and I never expected to have a dining experience like this ever again - but last night my husband and I enjoyed one of the best meals we have ever had, with attentive, quiet service in a small but elegant and comfortable room. The restaurant is dedicated gluten free, so we could order anything without the slightest worry. Everyone was having a wonderful time, from single diners at the bar, to tables for six. Every bite was delicious and interesting, and it was a delight to meet Yvonne, the talented and very kind executive chef. If you're lucky enough to be nearby, Polenteria is a must.

I ate here on Saturday with a friend. I am celiac and dairy free. Whilst the meal was tasty and the staff knowledgeable I still came out getting sick. The owner was nice and had explained what was dairy free - but my first course still came with cheese on top of it, and I had to ask whether it was safe for me (it was not). I have other food sensitivities so this one may just have been a flare that I wasn’t aware of, but the miss on the cheese made me wonder.
