The Original Pancake House is awesome! Great selection of gluten free items on the menu. Staff is knowledgeable. Gluten free items served on different colored plates. Have never had an issue when eating at the OPH and have been multiple times. Have had omelettes, pancakes, French toast to name a few. Never disappointed.

Menu was clearly marked with gluten-free options. Unfortunately our waitress was very rude and flippant when we had questions regarding the soufflé omelettes which were not marked as gluten-free.

Menu well-marked, separate plate color for GF

Even though they use Pamela's baking mix, which is what we use at home, it's fun to be able to go out for breakfast worry free. Have been to OPH many times and never had any issues afterward. Most recently had apple crepes which were great and nice to be able to get a short order (2) instead of full order (3).

Several outlets in the Twin Cities area and we have had success at 4 - the Roseville location is stark and felt cold but the other locations we've been to are very homey and cozy. Awesome thick bacon and coffee served in mugs which seem to be handmade, adding to the cozy feel.

So many options on their breakfast menu. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. My food came out on a special red plate indicating allergy/gluten free order. I had the pumpkin pancakes and my daughters had the chocolate chip pancakes. Both were delicious and I have had no sensitive celiac issues!

My husband and I have tried eating here on several occasions. Each time the staff seems less and less knowledgeable, and takes our allergy concerns less seriously. Most recently the manager came over to explain the allergy friendly meal process including identifiable multicolored plates. Our food came out on regular plates and we were told they don’t have colorful plates anymore by the waitstaff. After getting sick yet again from this locations it is needless to say we will not be coming back.

BEST GLUTEN FREE BREAKFAST! My daughter and I both have celiac, and we had yet to find a restaurant to serve her gf French toast. This place knocked it out of the park. I had the strawberry crepes and was also in heaven! They prepared our meals on dedicated gf equipment, too. The service was fast and friendly. We'll be back for sure!

Great GF pancakes! They roll their sausages in wheat flour, though, and those are cooked right next to the bacon, so make sure to ask for a clean grill if you order bacon and are celiac. They seemed happy to accommodate me. I did not have a reaction the one time I ate there.

Their GF items are spot on! Delicious food and very friendly service. The hashbrowns are amazing. Omelettes are HUGE and are definitely enough to split. gF Pancakes take care of your cravings for real flapjacks. Great!

Best breakfast place to go with a gluten allergy. Almost every dish can be made gluten free with no charge. Crepes are fabulous and so are the hash browns.

I had to go through several different staff before the manager came out to help. They eventually gave us a server who had a better idea of how they cooked the food and certain ingredients. The majority of the GF menu is made with Pamela's products so they all have dairy in them. I was able to have the French toast (GF, DF) because they use GF bread dipped in an egg batter. If you only have to avoid gluten then this is a great option.

I can have what I actually want at OPH. Ooey, gooey maple syrupy goodness away from home. Imagine the joy! One of my favorite places to be...the servers there are top notch too. Thank you OPH. OPH omelet is a fave, as are the apple crepes. Choc chip or bacon pancakes great too.

OK here's my honest review going to the Original Pancake House with Celiac. They have several gluten free options, which is super cool. They can make any pancake gluten free, however, I have no idea what ingredients are in their add ons for pancakes and honestly I'm not sure the wait staff fully knows either. Due to that lack of confidence, I ordered plain GF pancakes. They tasted excellent and I highly recommend. The caveat is how sensitive are you and how willing are you to take a legit chance in potentially getting glutened? They do cook the pancakes on a separate griddle, but they use the same cooking utensil as regular pancakes, so the potential is there for cross contamination. I would avoid the waffles because they are cooked in the same waffle iron. I took a chance on the pancakes and I think I will be safe. I would stay away from ANY sides as they are cooked on the same griddled as the gluten foods. If I get glutened I am confident it is because I did not ask the right questions related to meat prep BEFORE I took a bite of the ham I ordered. So if you decide to roll the dice on this one and hope against hope because you just want to have a "normal" meal out with your family because celiac is HARD, I would recommend sticking with straight up GF plain pancakes. Hope that helps you all! Have a good day!
