We ordered take out chicken and ground beef tacos. They were excellent. Online order menu let us designate gluten free. Staff were friendly at pick up and the restaurant was clean and had a nice ambiance. Would definitely eat in next time. Highly recommend.

I’ve been to Tio’s several times and have never had a contamination episode. They are one of my trusted dining destinations. This time I discovered something new about their safety protocols that I thought would benefit others. They have a separate gluten free fryer for items like gluten free empanadas. I discovered this when I asked our very knowledgeable waitress about the item on the menu. Not only are they made from gluten free ingredients but that are also cooked in a gluten free fryer and most of their fried items can be prepared from gluten free ingredients and are also cooked in this separate fryer.

Waiter was knowledgeable. He said he was pretty sure the rice was gluten free but would double check with the kitchen. I got the pollo asado with cilantro lime rice and didn’t get sick

Had amazing tacos at Tios! The staff was knowledgeable about dietary restrictions and cross contamination. They ensured me that my food was labeled gluten free when sent to the kitchen.

I am gluten intolerant, and I ate the Honduran Tamales! I am from Gainesville,GA, and many locals make and sell tamales, but these were the most delicious tamales I had ever eaten! I also had the house made tortilla chips and salsa. The salsa was delicious, but the chips were too thick for my personal preference( I like them very thin). I will definitely return! I did not get sick!

Waiter assured me my food would be marked gluten free which was assuring even though GF is labeled on menu. I got the chicken enchiladas!

Definitely not the place to go when it’s busy. Our waitress had no idea what was gluten free and what wasn’t. She did go check with the kitchen manager about what was safe but I got sick anyway. My guess is it was cross contamination. It was pure chaos and we waited an hour for our food. The food itself was mediocre. My empanadas had no flavor and the yuca appetizer was undercooked. My husband had thr pollo asado which was also just okay.

Food was excellent and tasted really good. I got takeout from there and the manager assured us all was gluten free. When we got to the condo and I took a bite, I realized one taco was a flour tortilla. We called back and the manager apologized for the miscommunication from the kitchen. He was very accommodating and refunded our meal. Check and double check your food. I would advise going to the restaurant to make sure proper care is taken rather than getting take out.

I read good reviews on here for this place and called ahead to inquire about their celiac/GF knowledge and felt good about trying it. Our experience wasn’t what I expected, however. When I told the waitress my daughter has celiac/gluten allergy (I say this in case the restaurants don’t understand celiac but may understand allergy), she just looked at me with a blank expression. Not a great start. She did not know the menu or safe suggestions for someone with celiac. She was checking with the kitchen on what was GF and what wasn’t, and the kitchen was saying things were GF that were not labeled as GF on the menu. It was a mess. We asked for the manager’s help, and ordered a meal for our daughter, but with hesitation. In the end, they were saying a few things were GF that were not labeled as such on the menu. We enjoyed our meals, but hopefully my daughter doesn’t get sick. It was a stressful situation. The manager checked in with us several times and they seemed very nice and wanted to be helpful. It just wasn’t the experience we expected based on the reviews we read on here.

One menu clearly marking GF. Also chips were celiac friendly. Made in separate fryer with veggie oil. Wait staff was very intoned to the GF needs. Food was good.

Great gluten free options! The soft corn tortillas were a nice treat as most places usually only have soft flour. Wait staff was helpful!!

They have several gluten free items on the menu, and wait staff was knowledgeable about how food was prepared. I had ceviche for appetizer, with coastal shrimp with cilantro rice and sautéed veggies. My non-GF husband had seafood pasta. Both of us enjoyed the food. No problems. I would go again.

My waiter was not very GF saavy, but he was earnest and made a point to tell the manager who came out to tell me all their precautions. I had the pernil nachos and manager made a point to tell me that while the chips were GF and all their precautions the carton does say it is from a place that also packages gluten items. Ordered it anyway and it was great and I had no issues at all

The menu has GF marked on it. There are several choices. It was Taco Tuesday so I had chicken tacos with a side of black beans. We also ordered guacamole. It was good.

Lots of gf options, friendly service but the food is mediocre at best. Tried the empanadas (beef and chicken), shrimp tacos, tequila line chicken tacos. The beef empanadas were the only tongs with and flavor. The corn tortillas are made in house and fell apart easily.

This was one of the best places I’ve eaten in a while. I had a soft corn taco with beef and a corn enchilada with chicken. I had cilantro lime rice and black beans with it. I shared their trio with chips (cooked separately) and guacamole, salsa, and queso. It was delicious and I felt quite safe with it. The server checked to be sure about the chips and tortillas.

Several GF options to choose from. Tried the empanadas and extra nachos (huge) - everything was tasty! When I mentioned celiac to the server he asked the manager to come to our table and make sure I was comfortable with their precautions. Overall a good experience and did not get sick.

Lots of choices clearly marked gluten free on the menu. We were there for happy hour and the deals were good! When I mentioned I was gluten free the waitress made a note of it. They have soft corn and hard corn shells for the tacos. The fried yucca dish was very good
