I ate here three times during my stay in Salem. The GF bun was so good that I actually checked with the waitress to make sure they didn't give me a gluten bun!! I had the pulled pork sandwich with the sauce on the side. I got it with rice as they use shared fryers for the french fries. The waitress on day 1 wasn't so sure about GF, so she got the manager to assist. If your server doesn't know, then the manager will definitely take care of you. I'll be dining here again when I return next year.
The gluten free buns were just okay. Veggie burgers are not gluten free but have a choice of gluten free bread which is very misleading. Most foods here are fried or breaded.
FYI village tavern staff: a gluten allergy means you shouldn't touch the outside of my glass with your beer soaked hands. Sick as a dog today and didn't even eat there.
Very misleading. There is very few gluten free options here. And the waitress knew next to nothing about the menu items. They brought out my plate heaping with French fries which were not gluten free. Very disappointed. Though, I will admit, the burger was tasty and the gluten free bun is far better than some I've had.
Great Gluten free burger buns, and awesome burgers!
