Called ahead of time to ask questions - after the manager explained what is and isn’t gluten free based on what I was looking at on the menu, he asked if I had any questions and answered them all. I know you can’t guarantee it to be safe, but lots of precautions were made and he understood celiac as an allergy. He came to the table and gave another run through and made sure I felt comfortable. I had the ribs, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw and it was all amazing! I would highly recommend and definitely return. All meat is gf except the sausage which is cooked somewhere else and not in the smoker. The main house bbq sauce is gf. Everybody loved their food!

BEST place to go for any allergy. Incredibly accommodating, extremely thorough protocol, never ever had an issue. I’ve been eating here for years (and I worked here for nearly 7 years so I can speak for the kitchen!!)

Very long wait for mediocre food and uncomfortable booths. Most of the food is pre-seasoned, so with a garlic and onion intolerance in addition to my gluten intolerance, there were very few choices. The corn on the cob was withered and cold.

Terrific dinner here tonight! The manager came over to review the entire menu and explained in detail what our GF options were. I recommend going slightly off hours, as they were able to make us a special appetizer as the restaurant wasn’t too busy. Food was very good! Highly recommend.

Bethany Beach is one of my favorite destinations when it comes to having Celiac...everyone is so knowledgeable! Bethany Blues was a new try for me this year and they were nothing short of fantastic.
When we got there I asked the waitress if they had an allergy menu and she told me that she will have the manager come over to chat with me. She also assured me that they were great for gluten free!
The manager, Brian (I believe), came over in about 30 seconds to talk me through the menu. All the sides they had were gluten free except the Mac n cheese and baked beans. He made sure I knew which bbq sauce not to eat. Without asking he told me, "you can even get fries because we have a separate fryer". After our chat, he said, "If you feel comfortable, I'll go back to the kitchen and talk to them about changing gloves, utensils and importance of no cross contamination for your meal". That kind of validation makes the struggles of having to eat out and be gluten free simultaneously so much better!
There was a separate food runner for my food and he announced the meal as "the allergy plate".
The food was fantastic! The service and atmosphere were great! And it's the next morning...not a single symptom of a reaction! I'm a very happy, highly sensitive person with Celiac.

Best gluten free service I’ve had! The manager came over to talk over the menu and answer all questions. He then talked to the kitchen to ensure fresh gloves, tongs, etc. were used. Lots of options! And they have a dedicated fryer. Highly recommend visiting!

The manager comes to your table and takes your order. They have an extensive amount of food on the menu for celiac individuals. I stopped in to ask because it’s my kiddos favorite place to eat and I didn’t see anything online. The manager met me and we over all the options. He’s eating ribs, French fries, and mashed potatoes and is pretty excited about it! They have a separate fryer for fries and will cook things in oven vs on same cook top as gluten options. Would recommend and we will eat here every year!

Can’t say enough wonderful things about the food and the staff at this restaurant! Food was AMAZING and the staff did an AWESOME job making sure our daughter’s meal was safe and delicious for her to eat!!! As a parent, that is such a comfort to know that everyone is well trained and takes pride in doing it right! Would DEFINITELY recommend eating here if you are in the area!!

Waitress was knowledgeable about gluten allergy. She got manager and he came out to discuss our options. While nothing on the menu is listed GF, they have many options. The manager will have you pick something on menu and they will tell your options. Your order is flagged with an allergen and they use new gloves/pots/pans when preparing the food. This is our second experience here and my daughter is very sensitive and has not gotten sick from here.

Had a great experience! As others mentioned the manager comes out and explains what's available on the menu and their practices to avoid cross-contamination. I had a pulled chicken sandwich with fries (they have a dedicated frier) and green beans - all very delicious! They have great kids menu options (mine aren't GF so not sure about that) so it was a great family meal for all. I am a very symptomatic celiac and I did not get sick at all. We will be back!

Very accommodating for Celiacs. Large selection of gf items. Manager comes over and explains all your choices and the precautions they take in preparing the food. They do have a separate fryer . Also amazing is they do not charge an extra $1.50-$2.00 for a gf hamburger bun. First time I have seen that. They can also do some of the kids meals gf too. Large selection of sides too. I had pulled pork, bbq potato salad and coleslaw. Highly recommend.

This place takes celiac disease very seriously and sends the manager out to your table once you inform the waiter of your gluten allergy. All of the bbq was great and GF (except for 1 type of bbq sauce) and they even have a dedicated GF fryer for French fries. Didn’t try the GF crabcakes but it’s nice to know that they have them!

Amazing!!!! They send out a manager to talk with you. As a gluten and dairy free individual I could order so much from the menu. They even have gf df crab cakes. I enjoyed the pork butt ends from the appetizers and then ribs. There are a million sides I could have too! They said they have a dedicated fryer for allergies and all of my dishes came out separately and were announced as an allergy. I highly recommend this restaurant. Pro tip: Tney did not take night time reservations during busy tourist season. Get your name on the list and then enjoy local shopping while you wait. They text when the table is ready.

I love this place! I went for the first time yesterday and oh my gosh the food was so good!! We got there and I ordered an orange crush (I looked up the ingredients myself since I had the time). Top notch drink. When we were seated I told our waiter I had a gluten allergy and he had his manager come and explain what is gluten free on the menu and answer any questions about gluten free. The manager mentioned that they have a dedicated fryer for fries and that literally anything except the breaded items could be made gluten free - even the sandwiches! I ordered the St. Louis ribs with green beans and mashed potatoes. I don’t really like green beans but the seasoning was very good! And the ribs were so tender and flavorful! They have 2 bbq sauces that are labeled gluten free as well. The 3rd contains wheat, which is labeled. Both gluten free bbq sauces were delicious! I don’t like bbq sauce from the store. And the mashed potatoes were to die for! The whole meal was amazing. The service was amazing. The atmosphere was amazing. Would definitely recommend!

We loved this place! So many great options for celiacs, and everything was delicious. Plus, the manager comes to the table to explain all the GF options and the measures they take to prevent cross contamination in the kitchen. I had a bbq plate with Carolina pork, which was amazing, and garlic mashed potatoes which were scrumptious, and a yummy cole slaw. They did my sons fries in the GF frier so I could eat some too, and even the fries were delicious. Everyone was happy!

When I asked my server that if they could accommodate a celiac person, he immediately got the manager. He pointed out all the gluten free items (most proteins and some sides). When we identified our celiac dining member the manager came over and advised what he knows they can prepare safely. They have a dedicated area and fryer so he could have most Menu items including fries. His food was brought out separately and I have to say it is the most comfortable dining experience I have had in a while. If your celiac I appreciate the attention, understanding and precaution Bethany blues took! We will be back!

Great food, great experience. Waitress was very knowledgeable about Celiacs. Brought the manager out who gave me a full rundown on which items I could and could not have. VERY impressed by the knowledge and care taken with our food. The online menus don’t mention gluten free, but they have it. Their bbq sauce is gf, their broiled crab cakes are gf and they have gf buns. I’m sure there’s more. We had 3 Caesar salads, 1 with grilled shrimp, which was great, 1 with brisket, also great. I had a crab cake on mine and thought it was horrible- but I’m a crab cake snob lol. My son had a burger and loved it. They even have a gluten free fryer, so the fries were safe! We were also working with dairy, shellfish and nut allergies. They did a GREAT job!

Excellent experience!! The manager came to our table and patiently explained which items on the menu are gluten cree (most of the menu is gluten free and they have Udis buns for sandwiches). They even made the wings gluten free for us. The food is absolutely fresh, delicious, and plentiful. Three members of our party had celiac and not a single reaction. Couldn't recommend more! Just note that the fryer is not gluten free but they will bake or broil items that would normally be friend to accommodate.

Ugh. Went to the Bethany blues in Lewes pre-COVID and had an excellent experience. The Bethany location, not so much. Our server was very uninformed about gluten free, and even went so far to say to me that all gluten free bread is disgusting. Like, really? Keep that to yourself, it’s rude and I told him as much. The food was just ok, but the food runner who brought it out did have gloves on and said he was bringing an “allergy item” out which reassured me that at least the food was safe. Really disappointed in our server and his attitude about gluten free. It’s not like it’s a choice for us.

Did something a tad different this evening, drove up to Bethany Beach Delaware for dinner. Informed our waiter who happened to be the manager my wife was GF and DF intolerant. He immediately informed us of what items were and were not GF. Hands down, the absolute best ribs I have ever eaten, and I have eaten me some ribs. St. Louis style were amaZing. The baby backs were delish! The cornbread was pallet busting delicious and those eggs, those eggs were deviled avocado, topped with crab meat and a splash of sriracha sauce. Garlic smashed taters and four slices of thick cut blue bacon as my sides.
The wait to be seated was projected to be 40 mins and it was exactly 41 till we were seated. They seemed a tad understaffed for a weekend of a huge event in town. We were so blown away by the food and service, the wait did not matter.
