Food was delicious. Most of the menu is "gluten free" I am very sensitive to gluten. I was somewhat symptomatic after but I did have the fries. I assume thats where I was cross contaminated. Or it was the toasted gf bread. The food was worth it.

We had the beet dip and yellow coconut curry and both were very good. They asked if we had any allergies before ordering and assured us we were safe with what we ordered.

I’m grain and nut/legume free in addition to gluten so I struggled with the menu. They did accommodate me with some creative solutions and it was tasty, but I left hungry. Also there are no gf donuts anymore (which was the reason I went there. Lol). 😩
Went here during a girls trip to Charleston, and was very impressed with their delicious menu. Was a very dainty restaurant and the service was wonderful. You can tell that they really care about wholesome good for you ingredients. I got the basic bowl and added chicken, and it was soooo delicious with a variety of different flavors. One of my friends got the curry, and two got the burgers and everyone had great things to say about their food. There isn’t a ton of gluten free options, but this was a great place to go to for a healthy wholesome meal. Didn’t get sick and left extremely satisfied.

The first question our server asked was about allergies- how refreshing! We have a variety of food sensitivities in our family and this restaurant could handle them all. Four of us chose to have the burger. They served it with gf bread instead of a bun, but it was delicious. The sweet potato fries that came with it were excellent too. My husband had the curry and enjoyed it too. It was served with papadum crisps. All in all it was a great place with exceptional attention paid to meet our dietary needs. Recommend reservations as it was very busy.

Our waitress was great! Explained the kitchen was familiar with Celiac and had a dedicated grill. They were able to make my daughter a grilled cheese and it was perfect. The curry I ordered also happened to be gluten free. We also got the kids veggies with gluten free ranch. Enjoyed everything!

Okay, my waitress here was absolutely amazing! Before taking anyone’s orders, she asked if any of us had food allergies, and when I told her I had celiac, she assured me of the foods safety, and picked out what wasn’t safe to eat on the menu. My friends all had sweet potato fries on their plates, and she came around and told me that they were fried in a gluten free fryer, and i can safely steal some from their plates if I feel so inclined. Absolutely wonderful!!!!

We had a great experience! My husband and one of our sons both have Celiac Disease. They knew immediately what we needed and offered suggestions. We had burgers, tacos, salmon bowls, a beet margarita and a flight of wellness shots. No one got sick and everyone enjoyed themselves.

Such a wonderful restaurant to eat at! The place its self is very cute, love the way it’s decorated. I ordered the Surfers bowl and the Sweet potato fries. Our server was very accommodating and knew exactly what I could have and what I couldn’t have. I felt very safe at this place and the food was delicious!!

We had an Incredible meal here!! I had the "Basic Bowl" which was any but plain. The curry was a subtle but luxurious flavor and the chickpeas had the perfect texture. The GF banana bread put this restaurant at the top of my list for a return visit to Charleston.

The server said the Naughty Burger is gluten free if you get it with a GF bun, and that they use separate grills/fries. Clearly something on that plate is not gluten free, had symptoms not so long after. Not sure if it’s the burger or the sweet potato fries, perhaps they have a batter. Be careful!

This menu has a lot of gluten free options to choose from. I ate the basic bowl with no meat and it was so filling that I couldn’t finish it. My husband had a burger and enjoyed that. I have no symptoms 48 hours later. I also had the beet juice margarita but it was a little bland for my taste.

Server knowledgeable about food allergies and recommended safest options. Menu includes grain bowls and vegan options but I had a the “Good Burger” on what seemed to be Udi’s bread and came with sweet potato fries. Burger was good but bread was dry as expected.

Went here twice on a 5 day trip to Charleston. They ask you about anyone having allergies or celiacs when seating you and waitress knows exactly what on the menu I could order which was a large selection. Was assured an allergy alert had been put on the entire order. Had the Coconut Curry bowl with salmon and it was AMAZING! If I lived in Charleston this dish was so addictive I would be getting it all the time. Next time we stopped I had the naughty burger on gluten free bread with sweet potato fries and a green salad. Everything was delicious. They also make the best lattes!!

No designated gf menu and gf items were not marked on the menu. However. The waitress was very knowledgeable about all ingredients and preparation. The food was so good! We actually ate there twice over our trip because it was delicious and safe. Sweet potatoes fries are made in a designated frier. Over the combined trips I are the basic bowl, sweet potatoe fries, gf banana bread and veggie hash. All sooooo good. My husband and friends who are not gf all really enjoyed their meals too.

Fantastic experience! They have a dedicated fryer and most items can be made GF. The corn ribs were particularly unique, but delicious. We ended up going during their vegan challenge month, but their vegan ranch on the sweet potato fries was so good. They knew exactly what I meant when I said “celiac”. They couldn’t do the fried buffalo cauliflower GF, but my partner had those and said it was delicious. I’d definitely go there again.

I got the corn ribs and the sweet potato fries - had a slight reaction afterwards but not sure if it was because of celiac, IBS, or simply eating too much too fast.

This restaurant was very accommodating for those with GF needs. The staff was knowledgeable and made suggestions about what to eat or not eat. The salmon bowl was so delicious and well well seasoned. The sweet potato fries were the best potatoes I ever had maybe. They have a dedicated fryer. Highly recommend!!

This place is within walking distance of the Charleston Market. My wife is celiac and this place has a limited menu but most of it could be gluten free. We both had salads and they were very refreshing on a hot day. We would definitely do it again.

My husband loves to eat-so at first glance he wasn’t impressed. The menu is very limited. Furthermore the GF option are even fewer. I got one of the bowls and he got the catch of the day. The both were delicious. The catch comes with no sides, so it was a good thing that we ordered the sweet potato fries! They were GF and amazing!

Wonderful experience!! Chloe, our server, pointed out the items on the menu that could NOT be made GF. There were only 4 items that were off limits!!!! They have a separate fryer for GF items. The sweet potato fries with cashew ranch (GF/DF/vegan) were out of this world! Generous portions! Beet and pistachio dip with crudités (GF/DF/vegan) appetizer was enough for 3+. Basic bowl and Naughty burger were delicious. Locally sourced ingredients. I will definitely eat there again, maybe tomorrow…

We went for brunch and it was delicious! Not everything on their menu is GF, but our waitress was so nice and the first thing she asked when she approached the table was if anyone had an allergy. She told me exactly what I could and could not have and even said they have a separate fryer! The gluten free banana bread was amazing and so were the sweet potato fries. The lemon poppyseed pancakes were great as well, but a little too on the sweet side for me for breakfast. Their chai tea latte was also one of the best I’ve had!

Most items are GF or can be made GF. I wish this was clearly marked on the menu or stated on the website. This would be very helpful for celiacs who travel and need to find safe places to eat. Very limited menu, most of it vegan. I got the beef bowl, and the beef was melt in your mouth tender, but the brussels sprouts were very undercooked and practically inedible. Overpriced for what you get, but very celiac aware.

I had one of their bowls, very tasty. Great cocktails too! Gluten-free items were not marked, other than the availability of a GF roll substitute, our server verified if something was GF. As of July 2021, they have GF rolls available— veggie burger is NOT GF.

A little too trendy for my taste, millennials and zoomers galore. Food was good, but no waffles or pancakes to be found. Did have a very tasty GF banana bread that I enjoyed. Other main brunch/lunch options for celiac diners are a variety of bowls with sweet potato, kale, avocado & egg in various options. Tasty and felt very safe ordering, but not my cup of tea ambiance and menu-wise.

Basic Kitchen was amazing! We sat outdoors on the patio. The hostess and server were both very knowledgeable about gluten and cross contamination. She walked me through the entire menu of what I could and couldn’t have and what could be substituted to be made gluten free. She marked my order with GF and said she would communicate to the chef. She stressed that they took food allergies very carefully. I was so pleased with my meal. I had the basic bowl with chicken, and the flavors were so delicious. I went back a few nights later and had the steak bowl which was also good. I would highly recommend this place for a fellow celiacer. I felt so safe and welcome eating here.
