Have GF options but pizza oven is shared so not safe for celiac
Not the greatest experience with this place, we went there during our first day in Venice. As always, I stated the situation about my daughter’s celiac condition, and the server told me they had gluten free pizza and took our order. My daughter ate the pizza and luckily had no issues. We decided to go back on our last day to be told by a different server who warned us that the pizzas were made in the same surface as the regular pizzas. I questioned that as we were given completely wrong information two days before. The only options then were to have a gluten free pasta, but those options are very limited. Beware that pizza in this place is certainly not safe for celiacs. I wish we were given the correct information the first time around.
Food was good, but didn’t feel great within 20 minutes of eating. If you have a minor intolerance, you might be okay, but otherwise be careful. All pizzas can be ordered gluten free but there is no specific gluten free menu. All allergens are marked on the menu really clearly.
Mixed feelings about this place. As others have said the GF pizza is excellent, easily the closest to the "real thing" I've had. But the service is terrible - they made me wait for 10mins on the street even though I'd booked, and didn't take my order for a further 30mins. And the servers were brusque and unhelpful, probably not what you want if you're trying to have a nuanced conversation about GF food. Go only if you really miss great pizza!!
Really delicious pizza! So many pizza options and the gf crust was amazing!!! They are very honest that it’s a shared cooking space and shared oven so they can’t completely prevent cross-contamination but they will cook the pizza on a different tray. I’m pretty sensitive to cross contamination but went for it because I was starving and I figured I’ve never had a dedicated oven for gf pizza before and that hasn’t been a problem for me before. Didn’t have any reaction. Would definitely recommend!
There is an option to order a gluten free pizza for an additional cost. However, there is no separate oven for it. They did offer a gluten free pasta which was cooked separately from the “normal” one. The stuff was knowledgeable and responsive to our needs. And the pasta was delicious! P.S. There is no information online about their kitchen closing for a break at 15:30, so be mindful of it.
NOT suitable for coeliacs!! They had GF clearly marked on menu and it looked good from the onset but very deceiving, once I sat down they told me they use the same oven and cross contamination will occur. They don’t have suitable practices to minimise cross contamination for coeliacs. We left and ended up eating elsewhere.
I was sad to be misled to try this place from Instagram. Supposedly have good GF pizza however it is not Celiac safe. Shared oven and utensils. So I got pasta which was supposedly safe. A zucchini cream which I had never had before. It was good, though I didn’t quite get over my disappointment for their lack of Celiac support for all menu items when they claim to be GF friendly even on the signs outside.
We were in a hurry, and although we walked to the restaurant, I asked for takeout. They seemed a little surly with that request. Just got pizza margarita because I didn’t want to spend a lot of time with the menu. It was adequate. Limp crust two pieces of basil on the entire thing. If I was spending a week in Venice, I would probably try again, when we had more time.
Not for celiac. They don't have a dedicated kitchen. I'm intolerant. Amazing gluten-free prosciutto with buffalo cheese. I strongly recommend it! The best pizza crust I've ever had. Top!!!
My celiac son actually couldn’t eat here and had to leave. They told us nothing was celiac safe. Everything is cooked in the same oven. They don’t even put the gluten-free pizzas on a separate tray. They put it right on the same surface of the oven. They told us there is cross-contamination and it is not safe for celiac‘s. It was very disappointing because this was one of the two places that I thought we would be able to get gluten-free pizza in Venice. From all of the reviews I had read I thought that it might be celiac safe but it is not. I also read somebody’s review that they got gluten-free pasta here but there was no pasta on the menu and they looked at me like I was crazy when I asked. Do not come here with celiac disease and expect to eat pizza.
Great gf pizza, can’t even feel the difference! Fyi It’s baked on the same oven as the normal pizza, be careful if you are extremely allergic Pizza amazing and great location! Friendly staff!!
Not a separate oven for pizza. It is placed on same oven stone as wheat pizzas.
I am celiac and waitress recommended I eat pasta, which was boiled in separate pot and water.
My husband, not gf, ordered a gf pizza which I did tear small top pieces off and toss in a salad.
Not sick. Everything was delicious and service was great.
Very good menu showing all allergies, unfortunately our waitress was incompetent. The wine took an hour. First meal arrived not what we ordered. Then an hour later the other meal arrived. It was supposed to be a gluten free pizza, but it clearly wasn’t. We got up and left. Terrible
This is the BEST gluten free pizza I have ever had. It is the closest thing I have had to real pizza in all aspects- flavor, texture, crust, fluffiness, etc- in over 13 years. I came back to this restaurant 4 times in 3 days and will miss it more than anything. I would marry this pizza if I could.
