Taco Bell does not have a gluten free menu, but they do have an allergen guide on their website. Please speak to the person taking your order regarding potential cross-contact risks.
I let the person taking my order of a gluten allergy and they made sure to let the person preparing the food to change gloves and minimize cross contamination. She assured me that the corn taco shells for the crunchy tacos are packaged separately and are kept separately in the heating box.
Also, when the workers that prepped the food handed it to me, they made sure to tell me that they were careful and that they placed the crunchy tacos in a separate bag from the rest of the order.
They have very few gluten free options like hard tacos and rice and beens. But the food is all crossed contaminated and they don’t know how to keep everything separate. When made aware of the food allergy they changed their gloves and sanitize the food station but the ingredients are all contaminated because I still got sick. I know if I didn’t walk in and went through drive through they wouldn’t have changed their gloves or wipe down the station.
The Doritos locos tacos are delicious, and they are good about changing gloves. Workers do not know what wheat is, or what flour is made of. They said none of the menu items contained wheat. Which is far from accurate. Cross contamination is a high possibility. Hands and face swelled within an hour of eating and gut issues later in the day.
I spoke to the gentleman preparing my food and explained that I had celiac disease and the importance of not cross contamination for me. I carefully chose what I was eating. I started itching an hour after eating there and started bloating a few hours after. Woke up at midnight with severe cramping and indigestion.
I eat here all the time since it’s one of the only places in Cushing that has a gluten free option. They got a bad habit of skimming on the meat sometimes so I have to get a couple of tacos to actually fill up, but I never fill sick afterwards.
Tacos and nachos gluten free.
I am highly gluten allergic, but not celiac. I often eat Taco Bell’s power Bowl’s without the Alvacado Ranch topping. I explain that I am allergic to the Alvacado Ranch. I have not had any reaction. I have been doing this for almost year. I usually get the chicken.
This TB location is the best ever at getting your order correct, even down to giving you a fork…..til today.
I’ve gotten the veggie power bowl without cheese and sour cream (it once still showed up) about 4x from this location. It always tested GF with my Nima sensor and no issues. I once tested a taco and it came back positive, but I ordered through kiosk and didn’t ask them to change gloves.
Taco Bell actually has gluten free hardshell tacos, their regular BEEF tacos, tacos supreme, and Doritos locos tacos. What you CANT eat there is ANY other meats, no chicken, no steak. And you can’t eat their NACHO cheese but you can substitute “3 cheese blend” or cheddar cheese on any nachos. Nothing else can be eaten here except drinks. If you order any other foods ask them to bag them separately. The food prep area surprisingly has little to no cross contamination, but their wrappers are very loose and foods can commingle in a bag.
The menu has gluten free options, but I was told they don’t do gluten free. They weren’t busy so I can’t imagine they just didn’t want to clean their stations, but whatever. We just won’t eat there 🤷🏼♀
I’m very gluten sensitive (not Celiacs, but a tiny bit of gluten does a lot of damage to me). I ordered a crunchy beef taco supreme and a power bowl with steak. I was nervous to try the ground beef but had read and seen on the allergen menu that they are no longer making their beef with gluten containing ingredients, so I took the risk. It was a success! No reaction!
Okay so at some point in 2020, Taco Bell revamped their ground beef recipe so it no longer includes gluten containing ingredients. Their Hardshell Tacos, Taco Supreme, Dorito Taco, and Dorito Taco Surpreme; are also now listed as not containing gluten.
I haven’t eaten Taco Bell in over 7 years. After learning this and talking to the person at a drive through who said that their would probably be a risk of cross contamination- I gave it a shot. I’ve tried a taco supreme and a dorito taco at 4 different Taco Bell locations in California, New Mexico, Arizona, and Texas. And never got glutened 😃 it’s amazing
Staff is not trained but their nutrition info with allergens including wheat and gluten is available on request and on their website. They have an article for gluten free eaters explaining some of the options and risks now too.
I’m pretty sensitive to gluten/ cross contamination and have had to figure out ways to improvise with not many gluten free options in Saratoga Springs. The only thing I ever get is the crunchy tacos. I love them and don’t seem to have much of a reaction (if any) after eating them. I wouldn’t dare touch anything else on the menu though!
I got the taco supreme now that the ground beef is gf... was as good as I remember ! So happy to have another option at a fast food restaurant. Didn’t get sick either👌 Not many choices so 4 stars
Does anyone know if their eggs are GF. Can’t find it anywhere. I got a grilled breakfast burrito with no cheese and no tortilla. Just egg and bacon. Hoping it’s safe.
Ordered the crispy supreme tacos (sub) shredded chicken, website offers more suggestions for gluten free items.
No separate gluten free menu. Use of corn tortillas as an option would be nice
