Chick-fil-A offers gluten free grilled chicken nuggets and many locations have dedicated fryers for fries. Check with your location if cross-contamination is a concern for you.
about a week ago i ate here and got my usual - grilled nuggets, fries, and frosted lemonade. i’ve eaten this meal multiple times a week for months and never had an issue, but this time i think i got cross contaminated. i experienced stomach cramping that night and itchy skin for the next day or two. this was the only thing i had eaten all day long. i did order through the app and didn’t have the chance to disclose my allergy, though, so that was my mistake. this is the only negative experience ive had at this location since going gluten free.
For GF fast food, Chick Fil A is the only place I reasonably trust. This location is not one of those. I ordered online for a grilled chicken breakfast bowl that is ordinarily GF. I spoke to the drive thru assistant and notified them of my celiac and asked for all steps to be taken for CC.
I got home and began to eat my food and found regular chicken nuggets in the bowl mixed in with the grilled chicken. I only noticed it after eating a piece of the breaded chicken. Subsequently, got symptomatic and have been sick for the last 36 hours.
I understand that fast food is notorious for being scary for celiacs but ordinarily I feel relatively safe at CFA. This location didn’t take responsibility when I notified them of the error and I do not feel comfortable eating here again.
Dedicated fryer at this location, so the fries are gluten free.
Frier and grill are dedicated gluten free. Our cashier seemed new and immediately went and found a more seasoned employee to make sure our order was entered correctly and that employee also went back to the line to ensure gloves were changed.
What can you say about CFA. Sadly, when you are GF there is only so many items you can get. And for some, they don’t do the salads because of space, so that decreases the options even more. But when you need a quick bite, this is my GoTo place. I didn’t have any issues, although, I was worried that I would have just because of the setting. But alas, all was good.
Ordered a vanilla milkshake. The manager brought out my order and asked if I was celiac (she saw gluten allergy noted on my order). I said yes, and then she let me know that their milkshake mixer machine is used for all milkshakes and is wiped down between shakes but not thoroughly washed. I thanked her for telling me and said I’d just give the shake to my sister. She said are you sure? You can do that and also I can give you a refund since you’re unable to enjoy it. So thankful she knew to check if I was celiac!!
run away as fast as you can. We have eaten at many Chick-fil-As over the course our GF and now celiac experience. Each one has been wonderful with the exception of this one. They put celiac and gluten-free on the receipt and still gave us the breaded nuggets. When I spoke with someone at the restaurant, they said that they have three points of contact and wanted to blame the guy who took the order. They have zero clue. Team lead could not be bothered to address the situation.
fries are gf in their own fryer, grilled nuggets, grilled chicken sandwich with gf bun, and all sauces gf.
We called ahead to ask about allergy procedures and all the right words were said, but when we arrived and ordered we were served fried chicken nuggets instead of grilled. We took them back and the manager apologized and took control of remaking the order, and it came out w fried nuggets again! We got our money back and left, we can't recommend this location for safety.
Edited: I had to go back the next day because it was my only food option that morning and the workers put the gluten allergy on my order this time, and I didn’t feel sick either day.
Original review:
Maybe it was an off day but I had a bad experience at this Chick-fil-a. I ordered the hashbrown sausage bowl and asked them to put a gluten allergy alert to my order and to change gloves. Got up to pay and they had no idea what a gluten allergy was and didn’t put a note on the order, and when I asked if they had changed gloves she said yes immediately even though it’s highly unlikely. Crossing my fingers I don’t get sick. Proceed with caution and double check when you order in the drive thru on the allergy alert.
The key ordering here is to tell them you have a gluten allergy.. this allows them to flag your order and alert the staff to be cautious in prepping. I got a grill chicken sandwich with a gluten free bun that was packaged separately and waffle fries. Great experience and I have not gotten sick from this location.
Just keep in mind it is a fast food chain though so your risk will always be higher for cross contamination.
The fries are made in a separate fryer but are handled with the same gloves as everything else (no, they will not make a new batch with new gloves for you unless you come in during a slow time which is very very rare at this location). There are no measures to prevent cross contact with anything else
Been there several times, and never had any problems
This location has closed and moved to:

I was able to confirm that the fries are fried in a separate fryer and do not contain gluten. On the Chick Fil A website they list what they can guarantee is gluten free because it is prepackaged and separate. The website goes on to list what they call is “gluten friendly” because despite it being gluten free they cannot fully prevent cross contamination. The fries are one of the items listed as “gluten friendly” despite having a separate fryer.
