$2.50 extra for gluten-free bread. Sandwiches are good. They were pretty good with precautions. Still, if I were super sensitive, I’d be worried about the amount of wheat flour crumbs floating around.

Service took a while. I ordered ahead of time even. I waited around 15 minutes once I arrived and was told it would take longer because of my allergy. Overall bread was hard and fell apart while eating it.

I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon to get a gf sub. They asked allergy or preference, wiped down the counter, put down paper, used a clean knife, changed gloves, and were cool about grabbing toppings from the back. They even moved the sandwich to fresh paper at the end of the line instead of wrapping in the paper that had sat on crumbs. Altogether I was impressed! At most locations I have to correct things as I go down the line, but the two staff who interacted with me here seemed very well trained on gf protocols.

They ask if you have an allergy or preference when it comes to the gluten free bread. After stating I have an allergy they cleaned the slicer, the counter, and all of the staff switched gloves. A new employee had accidentally used the mayo knife so they gave me new bread and then they use the squeeze bottle of mayo to prevent cross contamination. Everyone was very friendly, understanding, and aware of how to handle my allergy.

Amazing processes and protocols for safe handling of gluten free sandwiches to avoid cross contact. They explained their protocol to me without me prompting or asking any leading questions, showing me that know how to prevent cross contact.

Always wipe down equipment, change gloves, and use specific trays and tools to make sure no cross contamination occurs! They also have a separate squeeze mayo they use instead of putting the knife in an already touched one. Very nice

My husband just found out he has a gluten allergy. He got the large steak and cheese and said it was very good. He did toast it a bit more when he got home but overall he said 10/10.
Rarely have the gluten free bread option available. Staff will change gloves but use same prep station, ingredients, and utensils for all orders. Cross contamination highly likely. Only semi safe option is a salad.

This is a place in the outlet mall, and I would be a little more worried if I had gone when it was busy, but I went at a quiet time, and the person working was super accommodating. He changed gloves, wiped down the blade to cut the meat and cheese, and used the condiments in a separate area. He did as much as he could to limit cross contact. The bread and desserts were Udi’s and the sandwich was yummy!

They took extra precautions when preparing my sub- changed gloves, wiped down surfaces and meat slicer, used a different knife, prepared on a separate counter, and used separate condiments. I appreciated how careful they were. Had no digestive issues.

Have been told they don’t do gluten free in the back on a separate slicer/ prep area. Cross contamination nightmare.
They take good care of us and follow protocols. The slicer and counter get wiped down, gloves are changed, and they use a clean knife and butcher paper to prepare our food.

We all ordered the gluten free subs. The food tasted good, but our son, who has celiac, got sick afterwards. There was likely cross contamination. They have a separate prep station, but didn't clean the meat slicing station, which is shared. I suspect this is where the cross contamination occurred.

They offer gluten free sub bread in all their sub sizes. They also have gluten free cookies for sell. The staff do their best to accommodate and use a tray and change gloves to help prevent cross contamination.

They must not get a lot of GF requests here. The bag that usually holds the GF knife was empty, and they didn't clean the meat slicer before making my sandwich. I wasn't too worried about the latter since their ingredients are GF. The sandwich was tasty, and I didn't notice any gluten effects.

I have been to a couple of different Jersey Mike’s several times and the protocol seems to be the same: wipe down area and equipment, change gloves, paper under gf bread, special knife, etc. I’ve never been sick after eating their sandwiches.

I’ve eaten here multiple times with the gluten free bread and it’s been great. If you go in person, they ask you “is it an allergy or a preference”for the gluten free bread, when you say allergy they will wipe down all the prep space, change gloves, and change trays. I requested for them to change the knife to cut my sandwich and they said “of course”.
I even went in during a busy time, and they still were friendly and accommodating. The first time I went I stated I had celiac disease and they knew what to do. 10/10 recommend, they seem knowledgeable and are willing to swap out utensils and accommodate based on your sensitivity/requests.

Awesome Philly cheesesteak! I’m from Philly, so this is legit. The server was extremely focused and wanted to know if I had an allergy or intolerance. The cooks changed gloves regularly. I can’t speak to whether they have a separate everything to avoid contamination, though.

They are fantastic I ordered the GL free Sub and he changed gloves, used special designated slicer , used a separate preparation area to avoid cross contamination , wrapped the sandwich away at a different station , bagged it separately from the rest of the order and labeled the sandwhich GL free as well. Just very meticulous what I appreciate and the sub was very delicious šHighly recommend!

They have a delicious gluten free bun and clean the meat/cheese slicer prior to making my sandwich. They put your sandwich on a clean wrapper so it never touches the counter, then use a separate knife and squeeze mayo to reduce cross contamination. This is always a real treat for me!

For the most part, they take needing to have a safe place to make my sandwiches seriously. Sometimes there will be an employee who questions the safety that needs to be taken. Only once have I gone in and they were out of Audi’s buns. You can always get a sandwich in “bowl style”. The meat and cheese come as pinwheels on a bed of lettuce.

Took a risk ordering online asking to avoid cross contamination in the special instructions. They are supposed to clean the station but obviously I can’t confirm if they did. Took some GluteGuard right before eating just in case, so take this review with a grain of salt— but no reaction!

After hearing several Celiac influencers talk about the great GF protocol at Jersey Mike’s I nervously gave it a try for myself and my GF kiddo and was pleasantly surprised.
I specified that we both have a severe gluten allergy (the easiest way that I’ve found to communicate what Celiac is that is universally understood) and they immediately knew what I was talking about. They have decently sized Udi’s rolls that are packaged individually, a separate prep space, wear clean gloves, use clean knives, etc. The one warning I would give is making sure that they pull the meat, cheese AND toppings freshly from the fridge (they almost brought our clean GF sandwiches with fresh meat and cheese to the normal prep area area for contaminated lettuce and tomatoes, but I caught them in time and they got fresh from the back instead). Also, because the risk of cross-contact is so high, I would only go during non-peak times when they aren’t rushed and you can visibly see everything they are doing.
As for the sandwiches themselves, they were really good. Like most GF bread the Udi’s was dry (not a big fan of Udi’s myself), but it was soft and didn’t fall apart right immediately. I would probably get a little extra oil and vinegar next time to help with the dryness though. To my knowledge there are only two subs that can’t be made GF (the meatball and chicken parm), otherwise there are so many options.
Most importantly, we did not get sick would definitely go back.

I’m from Philly and haven’t had a decent Philly cheesesteak since we moved here 17 years ago - UNTIL NOW! Jersey Mike’s has Udi’s GF rolls. That was the first plus. But the cheesesteak is made right! Thank you so much, Jersey Mike’s. Hubby loves his, too, on a regular roll.
