I almost started crying when I got to this restaurant and saw how many gluten free options there were, and that they have a dedicated gluten free frier, so I could have French fries at a restaurant for the first time since my diagnosis! My non celiac boyfriend was excited about not having to choose between the food he really wanted to order and getting to kiss me after we ate without having to rush off and do his oral hygiene first. The food was good and I did not get sick after eating here. Next time I am in Virginia Beach, this will be my go to restaurant.

Knowledgeable staff and lots of choices on the menu. Safe both times we came. Desert is huge. GF calamari is available dedicated fryer and all. It’s pricy for what you get, but it’s in the heart of the main tourist area of Virginia Beach.

Extensive selection for the gluten free. Wait staff specifically asked if someone in party was celiac when ordering items gluten free. Happy splurge to be able to try some things that are frequently not available elsewhere gluten free.

Amazing options! My daughter and I are both celiac and never eat out due to the fear of destroying vacations. This place has it ALL with 2/3 rd of the menu being GF. I have never felt so comfortable eating out. Wish we had this place in our hometown.

Decided to order take out from this restaurant as their website says they have a dedicated gf space in their kitchen. I ordered a burger and gf grilled cheese for my daughter. The person who filled my order upon pick up was helpful and double checked everything for us. She even made sure the gf food was bagged separately. The food was tasty and I did not have a reaction.

Fried calamari, fried butterfly shrimp, coleslaw and Delmonico steak were all gf and all delicious!!! Great gf dipping sauces as well. Casual pub/restaurant atmosphere. Best part was a gf brownie sundae with a warm brownie that is AMAZING! Non-gf family members all loved their meals as well. Would definitely come back!

My whole family enjoyed a terrific meal here, including my 9 year old with celiac. She was happy with her choice of gf pasta and was thrilled to be able to share some French fries with all of us. No issues for her after eating here.

Separate Fryer, good food, separate prep area, LOTS of options, knowledgable servers. DF & GF options seemed limited, main dishes and sides seemed pricey, but good environment right off the beach, and most importantly, being so sensitive to gluten cross contamination, I felt safe eating here & didn't get sick. I ordered sweet potato fries & they were good, fresh with seemingly no seasoning, which I prefer anyway. They had many options using GF batter and separate fryer, or pasta for more exciting dishes, but I was born to be mild. It was fun to eat out, I almost NEVER do, due to my sensitivity and limited diet. I've been made sick too many times in the past- this time wasn't like that :D

Our whole family went for dinner, because they offer so many gluten free options. My son loved the potato skins and gluten free fried chicken. I loved being able to get fried flounder that was gluten free. We had excellent service. We will definitely be back when we are back in the area.

Probably the best overall GF option in Virginia Beach. Celiac friendly. Separate fryer - wings, French fries, etc. GF buns. They know how to do GF. We have eaten there three times during our stay in Virginia Beach this week and will return again. Two GF ciders on tap. Cheers!

Abbey Road is quite the experience. They say that their menu is 2/3 gluten free, and they follow through! On top of that it's an odd move away from the beach, which is 30 feet away, to a pub atmosphere and food that seems to come out of nowhere. If you enjoy the Beetles you should check it out. If you earn gluten free you should check it out. If you are hungry at the beach you should check it out. The staff are very knowledgeable about gluten and other dietary restrictions. Had first fried oysters here, gluten free of course, they were good but a bit soggy. The Sgt.Pepper burger was also good, with a gluten free bun; it was slightly greasier than needs be but it's the beach and you should be drinking so lighten up. I'd go again. tl;dr - good atmosphere, good gluten free options, knowledgeable staff, food pretty good, would go again.

Unsatisfactory ! I was so excited to come here from N.Y. And the GF Buffalo Wings were severely undercooked ( bloody) and had to send them back, and the sweet potato fries were burnt. The service was less than adequate. Not anything like I remember. My Abbey Road burger was good and my spouse's fish tacos were good. Too bad the others issues ruined the experience.

Safe, staff seems knowledgeable and cautious, good amount of variety (I got the club). Food wasnt worth the money, fries (all of ours) were cold. Close to $60 for 2 adults and 2 kids. Safe bet but we won't be back.

Kid friendly and Celiac safe. My family loved this place and we ate here multiple times during our vacation. It is so nice to have so many gf options and a dedicated fryer at a restaurant. Both of my kids were very happen between the chicken fingers, fried shrimp, French fries, and fried calamari. They are all such rare treats for us we had to order it all.

I have celiac disease. Abbey Road was suggested by a friend of mine who's daughter also has celiac. I'm VERY happy to state that not only did they have a BIG selection of GF items, but they also were knowledgeable about the risks of cross contamination. Add to it the gluten free statement in the menu it put me at ease. Here's the kicker. The food was really good. The service was really good as well. Thanks SO much for a worry-free meal and more importantly a worry-free time with my family! Well done!

Amazing casual dining experience! We vacationed here for 5 days and ate there 3 times! 2/3 of the huge menu is gluten free! They have so many options like seafood Alfredo, sandwiches, breakfast, appetizers, and 2 desserts (brownie sundae, so good, & ice cream). What's even better is they have a dog friendly patio so we were able to bring our pup! Highly recommend!!

This restaurant is very gluten free friendly. They have a dedicated fryer and cooking area for gf. The staff is very helpful and willing to switch out items (I have 7 food allergies). I ate breakfast here 2 times. I was able to have french toast. It was nice to be able to have french toast for the first time in 3 years. Unfortunately it was a bit dry due to the gf bread. The next day I had the Greek omelet and it was amazing. I strongly recommend this place.

I've eaten here many times. There is a huge problem with consistency in their food and portion size, both gf and not, but the catch of the day fried fish sandwich has been a hit all three times. I've had flounder twice and Mahi Mahi once. The Mahi wasn't as crisp as the flounder, but was still good. The flounder I just had a few nights ago was AMAZING! Sometimes, the food is delicious, but other times, the same item is awful. I am very sensitive to cross contamination, but have never gotten glutened here, which is the main reason I keep going back. Here are some examples: sometimes the chicken sandwich is fresh, juicy, and cooked perfectly, but other times it's mediocre or gross. My husband and son ordered chicken sandwiches a few nights ago, but both were served dry, rubbery, flavorless chicken. All of our fries (gf and reg) were soggy and very disappointing. The portions were good this time, but there was not a bit of crispness to them, as if their fryers aren't hot enough. Other times, the gf fries have been so delicious, crisp, and perfect. The same goes for the burgers...sometimes juicy and cooked perfectly, but other times over cooked and dry. Whenever family comes to visit, I'm hesitant to take them here, because you never know what the food will be like that day or night. Get it together Abbey Road!

I got the fried fish and the portion was a joke for the price. $20 for about 2oz of fish and 10 fries. The service was ridiculously slow. I think we saw our server 2 times. Once to order and once to bring our check (a runner served our food.) The GF choices are limited in Hampton Roads, but not limited enough to make me want to return here.

There truly are numerous choices for GF. I chose to go with an option better on the budget rather than trying something I typically can't have in a restaurant. An hour later I haven't gotten sick so I think I managed to not get contaminated! I had a chicken sandwich and the GF bread came out in a sealed bag. I think it was possibly UdI's brand but if it was it was better than what I get in the store. The sweet potato fries were amazing. Their menu lists the GF items and also says they have a separate fryer and I confirmed before I ordered. I was thankful that they were thoughtful of this: ordered a PB&J on gF bread for my son and she came out to say that they could t guarantee the GF because the PB had been opened so I was able to give her another choice. I was glad they were knowledgable and thoughtful of that. Even though it is a pub it was still family friendly enough for me. Prices were reasonable even for the beach. I wished I could have tried something different but what I had was great! Really nothing special about it being GF so maybe that's why other reviews were critical of taste. I didn't get anything that would have used GF specific ingredients. Thankful for a place that has lots of options and making great progress towards a safe meal.
