Chuck, the waiter is celiac! I even learned some things about xanthan gum! Such great options. Outstanding service and food. Spectacular view. The quintessential crab cake. Big lumps, bits of butter. We started with jalapeno poppers. They were so good I forgot to take a picture.

Lots of gluten-free items on the menu, and the best view of the ocean that you could ever want. They’re friendly and they are understanding about gluten free.

This used to be the Greene Turtle. Enjoyed watching the sunset from our table on their ocean front balcony. I ordered the GF market salad, and was able to add the crabcake from my husband's 2 crabcake plate (at no extra sharing charge) Scenery was great.

Felt safe eating here, server knowledgeable, menu marked gf, had the crab cakes, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw…no issues. The pineapple crush drink was delicious! #celiac

Disappointing experience. Ordered the gf crab cakes. They were fine but nothing special. Swapped the waffle fries for sautéed vegetables and got charged $4 for them, but had no flavor. The cold slaw was warm and strange.

Some GF options on menu. Staff was accommodating. Restaurant assured us they would take precautions to prevent cross-contamination, but had reaction after eating here.

Another vote for this establishment. I had the GF crab cakes, which they brought out with mashed potatoes (instead of waffle fries) and slaw. Server instantly knew I couldn’t have anything fried given the shared fryer — a good sign for staff knowledge. Location was sweet, with a view of the ocean. Everyone in my party of six liked their food. Excellent option for lunch or dinner! For some reason I can’t select this, but items that are prepared GF are marked on the menu.

Above the Dunes has a phenomenal location. It’s on the second story of a glass-walled building that looks directly at the ocean over the boardwalk. There are many gluten-free items clearly marked on the menu, and the wait staff was knowledgeable of the GF diet. The no-filler crab cakes are AMAZING! Not cheap, mind you, but amazing. For a less pricey lunch I highly recommend their basic burger with a GF bun, and swap out the waffle fries for one of their many GF side dishes. Also excellent are the Korean Bowl and the Cali Chicken.

Great place. GF items clearly marked. Spoke with waiter and he very much knew what he was talking about. Was able to answer any question I have and made me feel comfortable. Food was good and no one got sick. Fun environment. Beautiful ocean views. Great drinks.

While they have gluten free cauliflower crust as an option for the flatbreads, they cannot prevent cross contamination in the pizza oven and advised us not to order if CC was a concern. We appreciated the honesty and transparency. The tuna poke bowl was delicious!

Server was knowledgeable about gf. Menu is marked with several options. I ordered crab cakes, mashed potatoes and broccoli. The fries are not in a dedicated fryer, so I subbed them out. No reaction and food was wonderful

Highly recommend! Menus now have GF items labeled. Server informed me that anything labeled GF is cooked separately (separate fryer if needed). Of note, the seasoned fries themselves are not GF. Crab cakes are GF and are FANTASTIC! Since that dinner comes with fries you can sub any other side, I got rice and beans which were good.

I had the crabby flatbread. It was delicious. I didn’t feel my server was as knowledgeable as some others have experienced however.

I had lunch for the first time today. Our server, Garrett, was very knowledgeable about gluten free menu items. Above the Dunes has only been open for a month and the current menus don’t have the gf items labeled. He knew all the items that are gf. I asked about the Crabby Flatbread. He said it’s gf but he would double check with the chef. It was AMAZING! One of the owners came to our table to talk. He said he has a staff member that is guiding them in using gf ingredients to expand the gf offerings. It was so refreshing to hear of such an interest.
He said the new menus will be used very soon and will have all the gf options clearly marked.

Formerly the Green Turtle, Above the Dunes has the same owner with a new menu. I told our waitress I had Celiac and needed to be gluten free. She immediately got the chef and he came to my table to discuss all my options, from appetizer to dessert. Lots of options. I chose stuffed jalapeños and a crab cake sandwich on a gluten-free bun. They are in the process of making a menu marking all GF options and switching to GF soy sauce for all cooking.
