Some menu items marked incorrectly. One example is they do not have corn taco shells even if the menu item is marked as such. I had a strong reaction after eating only their food that was marked safe on the menu. Therefore it was either their food or the cross contamination. For the non-celiacs though, my friend enjoyed the taste of the food. This is why the review is 2 stars instead of 1.

They took such good care to make sure that I stayed safe. The chef changed gloves to handle my food, the server washed her hands every time before carrying my plates, they have a dedicated gf set of kitchen tools etc. Plus the food is great! Love this place.

Agava wins for making it easy for a celiac person to know what to order, but has limited options. Its staff very clearly understood celiac and its menu specifically identified certain items as “celiac friendly” by marking with a “c” items that were free of cross-contamination as well as specifying others that were gluten free (“GF”). The food was really good, and I never had to worry. However, giving it only 4 stars because of limited choice - only one entree and several sides were marked “celiac friendly;” was told by a former staff and also over the phone that the oven has cross-contamination and the fryer is shared, meaning that classic Mexican restaurant items like tortilla chips were off-limits. I was told over the phone that burgers were naturally GF and could be made celiac friendly in a pan instead of on the grill, and with a GF bun; ended up picking the one menu item that was marked celiac friendly (chicken and mashed potatoes, which was really good), specified I was celiac and needed no cross-contamination, and everything went fine. The fact that the only celiac friendly entree is not vegetarian may be limiting for some.

Used to be a great gluten free restaurant, but with management change things that used to be safe on the menu are no longer. Mexican type restaurants are usually my go-to but this one is only good now for margaritas (which are great!) and veggies

Excellent GF meal. Wait staff very knowledgeable and accommodating.
Called but they won't take reservations for 2 people and when you go can't be seated for 90+ mins at 5pm.... Ridiculous.....
Gluten free menu, including flatbread pizzas!
