Akamaru is a really nice, authentic Japanese restaurant. They can’t guarantee no cross contamination because they’re not 100% gluten free, but we felt comfortable that food cooked without use of the deep fryer would be fine. We had a beautiful meal of sushi and sashimi with gluten free soy sauce. It was delicious, and we did not get sick.
The staff are mostly Japanese so their awareness of celiac is low. I would suggest saying you have a gluten allergy.
