Excellent sushi and the waitress was very knowledgeable. Even the miso soup is gluten free. Gluten free soy sauce available upon request. The family that runs it has members with celiac, so they know what's up.

Pretty good sushi. I don’t mind takeout orders from here, but I’m not a huge fan of dining in. The restaurant is never very clean... surfaces are sticky.
Two major surprises upon my first visit to Aki after my celiac diagnosis years ago: their miso soup and teriyaki sauce are both inherently gluten free. The menu is clearly labeled, including the sushi menu. Gluten free soy sauce is available upon request, and the staff is extremely accommodating of concerns. I have not had any reactions in my many visits here.

They label things as GF and then tell you there is a little bit of wheat in the sauce. I ordered my meal with out the sauce, they tried cooking my hibachi safely, but it didn't work and now I'm feeling sick.

Aki has the best sushi I had ever had. We visit them every time we are visiting our son at Bowdoin. Food is always fresh, healthy and delicious. They have huge selection of Gluten Free choices. We also tried their Hibachi which was AMAZING. Great bar cocktails, wine and beer from around the world.
