My entire experience here for lunch was wonderful. The staff was on top of it immediately and walked me through the whole menu and what was safe. I was eating with a non-celiac person and, we had items from the fryer in our order. We ordered online via the QR code from our table (we included a note about which items needed to be GF) and those items came out separately on separate dishes. The food was so good! Kale salad was amazing and the pan-seared fish and shrimp tacos were amazing. The handmade blue corn tortillas were a wonderful touch. Will definitely be back!

I had a really great experience at Akna. The person who took my order was familiar with Celiac disease and assured me that they would avoid cross contamination. He walked me through the entire menu most of which is naturally gluten free. As always, avoid the frier. I got carnitas and chicken tacos with beans and rice. The food was great, and I felt safe. Will definitely go back.

I have celiac and eat here at least once a week. The tamale and the quesabirria tacos are my favorite. Great margaritas too. My husband can’t eat dairy and he loves it too. Friendly and knowledgeable staff who answer all my gluten questions. Can’t recommend enough! My favorite spot in Hayes Valley

Finally checked out Akna the other night and I’m obsessed! Almost everything on the menu is GF except for some obvious items that are made with a flour tortilla. Staff seemed extremely knowledgeable and will mark that you have a gluten allergy if you ask. I HIGHLY recommend.
