We ate there twice it was so good. Only I am GF (Celiac). They were fantastic with my meals and selection. Many options and if it isn’t, the chef is willing to adapt. Mary was our waitress both times - she gets 5 stars too!!! First dinner was chicken parm with homemade gnocchi - all GF Second dinner was Gnocchi Bolognese with extra sausage. We also had Caesar’s salad, calamari, and caprese salads apps.

We were excited to return to this restaurant after a great experience last year. My daughter has celiac and blood tests have stubbornly remained at 80 (from 250). We tested her GF gnocchi pomodoro tonight with our NIMA Sensor and unfortunately it showed gluten found. Such a bummer because it’s delicious and the place is great.

Friendly staff and tasty GF pasta. All of their sauces are to be GF. I had GF penne with bolognese sauce - it was really good. I also had GF garlic bread, which was pizza crust. Considering few restaurants have GF bread, I was happy with it.

Best pasta I’ve ever had. The GF gnocchi is fabulous! I’m also dairy free and there were at least 6 sauces I could choose from. Authentic, homemade, real Italian!

I highly recommend Al Dente

I ordered the gluten free gnocchi, but was delivered a dish with penne. It was clearly gluten free because it was complete mush. Horrible texture, I did not eat it, which is why I had ordered the gnocchi. We did not bother to have it replaced as it was delivered. From my perspective, it was an awful food experience.

This was the first restaurant experience after being diagnosed with celiac. The waitress was extremely helpful! Walked me through the entire menu and what my options were. Since it was my birthday, they had someone from the restaurant go to a nearby bakery and got me gluten free cupcakes! Highly recommend!

Gluten free veal parm was tasty. No gluten free bread for the table though. Regular gnocchi’s were excellent. Pumpkin ravioli was a little too sweet. Carbonara was missing the peas. In all good options for those eating gluten free

Had to ask several times to make sure they were cooking the pasta in separate water. Server didn’t even care. Gluten free bread is just a cut up pizza crust from another restaurant and it’s very bland.

Dinner at Al Dente was absolutely delicious. I had the GF gnocchi. Unfortunately, I was horribly sick all night & am still suffering today. I confirmed with both the hostess & server that they use fresh water to cook their GF items, but we came late in the night, & I have a feeling they didn't change the water because our food came out very quickly. I highly recommend this restaurant, but I do not believe it is celiac friendly.

Good but you are better off going to Benevento's next door. That is where they run to get all their gluten free bread items and they also have pizza at Benevento's which Al Dente does not have (same owner but larger GF selection at Benevento's).

Planned a dinner here for my sisters bachelorette party last summer, since myself and one other sister are gluten free due to Celiac disease and wanted a quality meal that would be safe. Waitress was pleasant but basically seemed to think that gluten free = gluten free pasta, with no thought to contamination, even though I verified that food would be prepared separately. I was sick about 20 minutes after eating and had to spend a majority of the night in the bathroom, between bachelorette activities. Very disappointed, will never go back.

I read the great reviews and thought I would try it. It is a very small place. I was disappointed that the chicken Parm was not gluten free as one other person said. I had gluten free pasta with shrimp -- with a broth type of sauce. Tasty. The gluten free garlic bread she had to go next door to get. It was $7 just for the bread-- thin crust but flavorful. Large portion. Got red bridge beer Good taste. Didn't get sick

Very accommodating. No GF menu but willing to fix many items for me. Only pasta was penne but has many plates to go with it and had many risotto dishes as well. Staff was friendly and went out of their way to make sure my food was kept separate. Make a reservation though. Place is small. We hit it just right but others had a long wait.

I was told by the doorman that I could choose pasta or pizza. I chose pizza which was ordered from Beneventos next door, which had our waitress running backwards and forwards (obviously same owners). My advice if you want the pizza just go next door. Pizza is very nice.

The food was delicious, but I'm not overly confident that it was prepared in a quality GF environment. The waitress didn't seem very versed in GF. To her GF just meant GF pasta rather than being careful about sauces, breading, cooking surfaces, etc. I didn't have a reaction to the meal. I'm not as sensitive as many, but usually do have some reaction eating out.
