I get sick every time I eat at this location. I don't think the wait or communicated my needs as a celiac. which I clearly explained and ordered specially listed gluten free items. I spent a large portion of the meal with our friends in the bathroom with explosive diarrhea and intense abdominal pain and cramping. Not a good experience!!!
Excellent food !! Lots of gluten free options!!! Menu is well marked!!!! We will be back!!!
Menu is marked with gf items. Now they have desserts too. Also vegan and vegetarian friendly.
Gluten free items are clearly marked on the menu, as well as items which are vegetarian, vegan, and nut free. This is a great place for vegetarians. There are many GF items on the menu. Soup comes with pita on the plate (under the bowl), so be sure to ask them to not include it. There are many dip options, such as hummus; you can order these with a veggie plate instead of pita.
This restaurant has the most delicious gluten options. They are very aware of safety precautions. The gf rice dish with veggies and beans and seasonings is fantastic and so flavorful. I will be coming back to Aladdin's during my stay here in Cleveland. I am leaving here a happy person!
Amazing Lebanese food! Many gf options. The felafel were wonderful. Lots of dairy free options too and the menu indicates what is gluten free, vegan, vegetarian and contains nuts. Most of the meat is gf but because it is served on pita it isn't listed as gf. Just ask and they will tell you what is gf.
My daughter had no issues eating here. Although when we asked for ketchup for her chicken(she loves ketchup) they didn't have any and offered a different dip to "try". She didn't like the dip and I wouldn't have accepted it if I knew we would be charged for it! We probably won't eat here again because I feel the staff was not very friendly. When I told her my daughter had an allergy she practically rolled her eyes. ☹️
My server (Jo) was very knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable eating here. She made sure that the kitchen staff changed gloves, cleaned utensils and work spaces. Plus the food was great!
I felt irrevocably in love with tabbouleh, sfiha and kibbeh since the first bite, when I was a kid in Rio de Janeiro (where at that time there was a considerable Lebanese population). We used to eat them frequently. Imagine how excited I was to visit Aladdin at Oberlin, in Ohio! So I ordered exactly that: tabbouleh, sfiha and kibbeh and the disappointment I had is almost indescribable... The tabbouleh was swimming in lemon juice and had no olive oil; the sfiha was a pita bread (yes, I kid you not!) rolled into a triangle that was baked to a wooden consistency; and the kibbeh looked picture-perfect, but tasted nothing like the real thing. The place was dark and gloomy when we came in from the glorious sunny day outside, but I never choose/judge a restaurant for its looks! Our table was so sticky we had to ask the server to clean it; we had to deal as best we could with the sticky menus. I sat against a wall, on a bench. Suddenly these extremely loud thuds were heard and my seat shook a little bit. The thudding kept going on and on and people at nearby tables started looking in our direction. I asked the server what was going on and we were told they were cutting veggies! So, we decided to leave them to abuse the poor veggies in piece and moved to a different table. That is when the food arrived and we wished we had gone to the nearby India Garden--that although not the best Indian food, at least it is addable...
We had lunch at Aladdin' s Eatery today. All four of us were delighted. Others had a shish kebab plate and kibbe, and two of us enjoyed a shwarma hummus plate. I'm the GF one, and there were lots of options for me. I added a small order of baba ganoush...it was delicious, too.
Update 2016 Great stuff! Energy drink!! Other stuff! It's one of my go to's and it's not a guarantee that I make it out stomach ache free. Cross contamination. Limited choices in restaurants for gluten free food in the area keeps me coming back with my gluten digest enzymes and prayers. Really wish they would incorporate more entrees with cooked fresh vegetables. Salads are good but sooooo many salads. 2015 Hit or miss! The falafel is gluten free and made in a dedicated fryer. Got take out today and it was disappointing when I asked them to be respectful of my gluten-free status and the order comes with pita bread. Really this place claims they honor allergens that's not a great example.
Good server. Watched her changes gloves when prepping my food - attentive and friendly (did seem to be the only one of 4 working, but it was slow). Food was fine, limited GF options, but still selection. I had the hummus plate, which they normally serve with pita, as GF they should have a substitute to the bread (carrots, cucumber -something), but they don't and it quickly becomes one note. The cheesecake was fun to get to have - but did not deliver the flavor I was seeking.
Lebanese-American chain offering traditional & vegetarian dishes plus smoothies, beer & wine.Their menu is noted with gluten-free items. Their Falafel is delicious and their shwarma play is quite tasty. The staff is always friendly and accommodating to dietary needs. Not all that expensive either and it's good fresh food! When I visit Worthington I stopped in here to grab food. They also have a gluten-free blueberry bar although I did not try it
Great service. Fantastic food. Well done.
Great food. Knowledgeable staff. many gf options.
AMAZING place! I am a very sensitive celiac, and I am very apprehensive about eating out. The waitress was very knowledgeable about celiac, able to answer all of my questions, put me at ease about contamination risks, and provide me with fantastic recommendations. I can't tell you how delicious this food was! I usually stay away from salads when eating out, as they are normally one of the most easily contaminated dishes, but my shwarma salad was out of this world. Fresh, delicious, healthy...it was fantastic. My husband loved his meal, too, and he's not one to go bonkers over food like this. We ate a really delicious meal, enjoyed a glass of wine, and left extremely satisfied. Best of all: no bellyache, afterwards (I'm very sensitive, I would've known if I had ingested gluten) This place made it happen! The GF cheesecake was so tempting, but I managed to overdo it with the shwarma, so I chose to forgo it (I'm still regretting that decision) All-in-all, a FANTASTIC choice. I plan to visit EVERY time I am in town. It certainly puts a positive spin on a doctors appointment.
amazing food and clearly written menu. had no problems finding what was gf
Tonight was my first time at Aladdin's, we just stopped for dessert with a friend, they had 2 amazing types of gluten free cake, some of the best I've ever had, we will be stopping back to try the food next time! Had a great experience with dessert I gave it 4 stars just because I haven't had a "dinner experience" yet!
This place sounded great from the reviews on the Internet, but finding vermicelli noodles in my rice, and the manager's unapologetic attitude about it, was a huge disappointment. But, weirdly, I have not reacted at all to this meal, even though I am super-sensitive to gluten, so I have to wonder if it was rice vermicelli that I found. In more detail: The menu is awesome, with lots of items that are marked gluten-free. The food options are middle Eastern -- Baba Ganouj, hummus, stuffed grape leaves, etc. I told the waitress about my family's food sensitivities, and ordered rice that she thought would be safe for me to eat. The rice was good, and my hummus and baba ganouj were excellent. But about 2/3 of the way through my rice, I found a vermicelli noodle. I stopped eating the rice right away, and told the waitress. Usually in the past when a restaurant has made a mistake, they have sent out several people to apologize, and majorly lowered our bill. But I had to ask to have the price of the rice taken off the bill. On the way out, the manager asked how our meal was. I told him about getting glutened, and that I'm usually sick for four weeks afterward. Instead of sympathy, he seemed annoyed, and said that the menu says that the rice is mixed with vermicelli noodles, so I guess he felt it was my fault that I had ordered that. Sigh. They had some gluten free cookies at the cash register, near a gorgeous display of gluten-containing cakes. My daughter looked through all the cookies for one she wanted to try. But they were all flavors like orange and lemon, while she wanted chocolate, so she didn't buy one. Overall, a big disappointment. I wouldn't go back. I am still baffled about why I didn't react to the noodles in the rice.
Great Lebanese food!
Amazing food!! The menu is marked by every selection whether it's gluten free, vegan, both, etc! Some of the staff are very knowledgable. Unfortunately, I had an awful experience with a waitress last night. She buried my hot sauce under the pita I asked her not to bring when I mention the gluten issue. Then gave attitude when I reminded her and asked for a new one. Seeing that I got extremely ill last night, I know she brought out the same side of hot sauce. The wait staff should really be trained consistently and be made aware of the health consequences of the customers!
Aladdins eatery has just recently changed their menus to indicate which items are gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, or contain nuts. Certain appetizers do usually come with pita on the side, but, they don't count the pita when determining when a dish is GF or not. In addition, their menu also lists out all the ingredients that go into each dish, which is nice.
Good food, but be careful!!! They have things labeled vegan that are made with animal products and the falafel are labeled gluten free, but the are fried in a shared frier. I told the waitress all of this and she just shrugged it off like it was no big deal. I have friends that are vegans and they would be very upset to know that the smoothies are made with cows milk!!!
