Very helpful waitstaff. GF items are limited to 3 pastas, the risotto, and some of the meat entrees. I had the beef sirloin with vegetables and potatoes and split a plate of dessert cheeses with my partner. All of the food was good, and the staff was very attentive to my allergy.
Sadly as I am also vegetarian and intolerant to dairy, the only option was plain GF pasta and salad. But it was a really good quality pasta and I enjoyed my meal. The bread roll was a good one.
The man who served us, I think was the owner who specialises in taking GF orders as when I mentioned gluten free the waitress said “he will come soon”.
He joked at how I was a challenge - can’t have risotto etc, but mentioned his daughter is celiac so he tries to have options, and he can do vegetarian or no dairy but all 3 is too difficult.
They did bring a gluten free bread roll when they brought the regular bread basket which was appreciated.
He asked if I was celiac or intolerant because he could try to do a version of bruschetta but it would use the same oven. So he was aware of the difference and made sure to confirm the customer needs.
great view & vibe, friendly waitstaff. they have gluten free pasta, an allergen list upon request, and gluten free bread they brought out as an appetizer. would totally recommend
Amazing experience, worth a trip if you’re visiting lake como. Unlike the previous poster, they did not have everything gf—no gf pasta available. But my risotto was exquisite, and they were immediately familiar with what was and wasn’t GF. Excellent service too and a gorgeous location!
We stayed one week at the hotel. I am celiac and I told them wenn we arrived that I need gluten free options for our half board reservation. Every evening I was able to eat almost everything my husband (not celiac) ate, because most of their menue for the half board was gluten free anyway. when I couldn't eat something, they gave me good alternatives. They thought of separate my food of the others and I never had to ask for something: They remembered that I was celiac and explained every evening by themselves to me, what I could eat and what not. I NEVER was sick after eating there. The staff is incredibly friendly and well instructed.
This was a lovely surprise. They do not list gluten free pasta on their menu, but they do! The waiter was also very conscious of my choices. Excellent find!
